St Josephs

[edit]

Thanks for editing my page on St Josephs, the school in my city, Invercargill, NZ. I corrected your spelling and added your comment nearer the top of the page for other people searching for ANOTHER St Joes.

This is meant to be a current list; thus the Astoria Line is BMT-only and the Flushing Line is IRT-only.

User categorisation

[edit]

You were listed on the Wikipedia:Wikipedians in high school page. As part of the Wikipedia:User categorisation project, these lists are being replaced with user categories. If you would like to add yourself to the category that is replacing the page, please visit Category:Wikipedians in high school for instructions. --Cooksey 19:21, 11 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

re:template deletion

[edit]

Sorry, but it was extremely similar, and the situation surrounding userboxes and the excessive number of them is a big problem. If you dont like the template, dont use it. - UK «ßØÛ®ßÖѧ3» Talk | Contrib's 21:24, 3 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

User NFL-Dolphins

[edit]
  • Please try to use the preview button when editing in future, or you could just not edit at all because I dont remember the Dolphins playing in Turquoise and Salmon as your colour scheme would suggest. Their team colours (which you can see here) dark green, orange and white, so I have changed the colours accordingly. Enjoy! - UK «ßØÛ®ßÖѧ3» T | C 21:02, 12 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Template:user ravenclaw

[edit]

No I am not against the project; I am a member of it! And I do not feel any old picture of a raven/lion etc is appropriate. Perhaps discuss on the template's talk page. --Gary Kirk (talk) 21:26, 14 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

New Sports Wiki

[edit]

Hey Niffweed17, me and a couple of buddies (all from New York) started this cool new sport-wiki, [URL deleted by RossPatterson] which combines blogs, news, voting, with the power of Mediawiki's (Wikipedia's) wiki engine.

I noticed you started the User Mets template. I am a huge mets fan also and thought you would find our new project interesting. Check it out when you have the chance.

Area Code 212

[edit]

I love your main page with the "This user has too many infoboxes"; I thought that was hilarious. I think I will steal borrow a few of these, but I think I'll pack them (next to each other) instead of stacking them. I also need to find some of the opposing ones since some of those you have, I believe in the opposing position, but differences of opinion are what make the world a fun and exciting place.

Anyway, with respect to your comment to split the item about Istanbul being area code 212 as well as New York City as disambiguation pages I would otherwise agree if there was more than a single item to disambiguate. I think it's really a waste of time to do a disambig page for one item. For one item alone I think leaving it on the same page is acceptable. Paul Robinson 23:42, 5 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: my Roe v. Wade revert

[edit]

That was an accidental reversion. We're both using the popups tool and I think we both tried to revert the vandalism at the same time. He got to it first, and my popups tool just reverted his revert. Sorry for the mixup. --BWD (talk) 22:25, 9 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's been rumoured that the pop-ups-based tool somehow misses detecting or reporting an edit-collision, occasionally leading to these sorts of problems.

Hi there. You voted to delete the article on Carson Gulley - understandable, as the way it was written suggested he was only famous for inventing a pie only known at one university. Having done a little research I've discovered he was a little more notable than that, and I've added some extra stuff to the article. It's still borderline, and I'd understand you still voting to delete, but I wanted to give you a heads-up and the opportunity to reconsider. --OpenToppedBus - Talk to the driver 12:22, 13 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Stuy

[edit]

I didn't know you go to Stuy, Niff, that's awesome! Both I and my wife went to Stuy '99 and '98 respectively. Small world, eh? the.crazy.russian (T) (C) (E) 00:26, 17 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Stuy merger

[edit]

The Student Body article doesn't seem to be getting any attention as-is, and could do better to be merged into the main article - the more information there is there, the better the chance of getting a featured article. If it is merged it will get more attention, and it will never become a full article by itself. The size guidelines don't really matter, they are actually antiquated. Even with a slow internet connection it loads easily.--Zxcvbnm 02:24, 17 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sure you never want to have to touch Stuyvesant High School again, but I have to ask: In your opinion, was a conclusion on the dispute ever reached? I'm having a hard time following the flow at Talk:Stuyvesant High School. Thanks! RossPatterson 22:37, 25 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Funny message inside box

[edit]

Whats with the message hahahaha

what? Niffweed17, Destroyer of Chickens 23:19, 11 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cowami has one thing to say:

[edit]

Cowami believes, that while Niffweed 17 is the greatest thing to ever exist, it is corrupted by the fact that he/she/it attends Stuyvesant. Cowami believes that it is a pity that Niffweed's talents are wasted there, when they can be clearly used in Bronx Science. By the way, Cowami likes pancakes. Cowami 01:06, 9 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Niffweed17 recommends that the qeueues at Nxobr Encseic teach Cowami to cook pancakes. AP pancake-cooking might be an easy 5. Niffweed17, Destroyer of Chickens 00:22, 10 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi. Thanks for the heads-up on the reordering. I had no idea the article was nominated for the main page and am more than happy to see the intro stay this way. -A '98 alumnus

Your vote on the MP8 minigames AFD

[edit]

You have voted a "weak Delete" saying it reads more like a walkthrough. However, it can be written encyclopedically and you may also wish to read McKay's points on the issue. for these reasons, I advise you to review your vote for a "Delete" before the AFD closes. Bowsy (review me!) 11:09, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think it's appropriate to try to convince people to change their votes, just to favor your opinion. If they want to change their vote (on their own): they will. RobJ1981 11:46, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Can you give me a few suggestions on what I could do to make the LMP8mg article more encyclopedic? Bowsy (review me!) 19:13, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Is this more like what you're talking about? Oh, and by the way, you are actually supposed to vote Keep if you think the article should be cleaned up, rather than deleted. Bowsy (review me!) 16:21, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for alerting me to this. I presently have no major feelings one way or the other -- although apropos of almost nothing, I shall express my wishes that all the damn non-notable Pokémon articles get merged ASAP, so that they don't continue to stain the consistency of WP:NOTABLE. Re: Uncategorized Tag

[edit]

The program I was using is called NPWatcher. It is designed to do just this. Obviously the new pages that are monitored are only made within the last few seconds or minutes. Tagging it with {{uncat}} is not 'reporting' it or anything. It is simply marking it as uncat'd. So many articles are created without categories, and sometimes remain an orphan. This a) lets people know who categorize articles to categorize it, and b) let anyone who visits the article know that it needs a category, if they know of one it belongs to. I really doubt it caused you any harm to switch out the {{uncat}} with a category. I don't see why you had to leave a message on my page about it, but oh well. I recommend, if you're going to be that critical about it, that you look for categories for the article and include them in there while creating the article, and before you submit it for the first time. Sorry for any causing any trouble on your part. --Pilotboi / talk / contribs 00:03, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
