[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be engaged in an edit war with one or more editors according to your reverts at Kaş. Although repeatedly reverting or undoing another editor's contributions may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, and often creates animosity between editors. Instead of edit warring, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.
If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to lose editing privileges. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Picture on Kaş
[edit]Hi@Alex2006 just say me what is the problem with this picture ?? It illustrates perfectly tourism Kaş--Nicoleon (talk) 19:51, 19 May 2015 (UTC)
- First of all, if someone reverts your addition, this means that he/she does not agree with you, that is that there is no consensus. After that, per --Nicoleon (talk) 21:33, 8 July 2015 (UTC)WP:BRD you should go to the article's talk page, and explain the reason of your addition, looking for consensus there. A revert of your edit's revert means edit warring, and ends with a report. About the picture, it illustrates nothing. It is just a picture of a boat somewhere, with someone diving and a child (maybe your son?) smiling. It does not add anything to the article, that's why I removed it. A meaningful addition could be a good picture of a Kas boat (possibly without son, wife, girlfriend, etc. in foreground) in the harbour. If you don't agree with what I wrote, please open a thread on Kas talk page, and look for consensus there, refraining from other reverts, which will lead to a report, thanks. Alex2006 (talk) 04:16, 20 May 2015 (UTC)
@Alex2006 haha no it is not my son .. it's just one of the many tour site boats you can find in the bay of Kas,it is the majority of tourist attractions in this town ......I am a photographer and I participate on wikipedia as I can, I do not have time to lose for details like that and I'm not going to fight for this, it's ridiculous--Nicoleon (talk) 07:50, 20 May 2015 (UTC)
- OK, if it is so (and I believe you) the picture must be removed from commons, since in most countries you cannot publish pictures of identifiable peoples without their consent. See about it here. Alex2006 (talk) 08:28, 20 May 2015 (UTC)
@Alex2006Do not worry my friend I have the consent for this picture, I am a proffesionel and it's my job.best --Nicoleon (talk) 21:42, 20 May 2015 (UTC)
- Consent from whom? Please don't reinsert the photo in Kaş again, Nicoleon. Whether or not the child is yours, you should respect its right to privacy. I have to agree with Alessandro that it's not particularly illustrative of the subject, either: people dive off boats all over the world. And please don't edit war. Bishonen | talk 20:14, 21 May 2015 (UTC).
@Bishonen every morning there are dozens of boats like this that leaving from Kas, is a boat trip and this is the peculiarity of Kas tourism .. Do not explain to me what it is the respect for privat life , I know perfectly because that's my profession , i m a press photographer and I have all rights to my photos. If you have the energy and time to lose to explain that to me, I'm not going to fight to publish this picture , don t worry. Best regards--Nicoleon (talk) 15:53, 25 May 2015 (UTC)
- That's just as well, because I don't think you'd win. Respect for private life is your "profession", really? No, being a photographer doesn't make you a specialist on the ethics of privacy. Being a philosopher might. Having legal rights to your photos is something else, and I'm sure you have those.
- I think these boats are a peculiarity of tourism all along the Turkish coast. Places like Marmaris or Bodrum have hundreds of them. Also, for an article about a place, a normal lens representing flat surfaces as flat is much to be preferred. I'd think you'd know that, if you're a professional photographer. It's an encyclopedia, not Google streetviews, and the technique used in this photo — presenting the sea as a bowl — distracts from the subject and misrepresents the mountains. talk LOL you are a specialist :) !!--Nicoleon (talk) 21:33, 8 July 2015 (UTC)
An article you recently created, Odcvl, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. - Hello Onel5969 Thank you for warning me, tell me what I can still do, there are many sources in French, I have added some.. I am new to the wikipedia EN, I try to participate here as I can, I appreciate if you can give me some advice ;thank you, best ! --Nicoleon (talk) 23:43, 26 January 2022 (UTC)
- Hi, and welcome to EN WP. I've contributed slightly to FR WP (when asked to help translate an article there), but I do not speak French, so try to not offend by staying off that WP. Your article is close. When I moved it into draftspace, it did not have any reliable sources (mediapart is not a reliable source). Now you've added two more good sources, and I would suggest adding at least one or two more refs from an independent, reliable source which goes in-depth about the organization. A larger issue is that of WP:VERIFY, the list of locations needs refs in order to pass that requirement. I hope this helps, and thanks for making the attempt to contribute to EN WP. - Hello Onel5969 Thank you for your response and your advice, it's very encouraging. If you write an article in French, do not hesitate to contact me, I will check it !I will try to publish some articles and try to understand how the contributors work here (and also to improve my English!!). For the article there are many sources because the organization is very old and very popular in France, i will post more. (and in France mediapart is a very serious source).best ! --Nicoleon (talk) 19:15, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
