Spingold

[edit]

Nicolas and other visitors,
Here between double horizontal lines is section 1.4 Spingold, replicated by copy-paste and modified in 8 relevant cells. I hope this may briefly convey my alternative suggestions. Between double-lines and outside those 8 relevant cells, I have not modified the current version of section 1.4 except to delete the first wikitable entirely (table deleted ...). Notes continue after the second double-line. --P64 2016-10-10

  1. Boldface is not part of my suggestion for the 8 lines so displayed; merely (a) relocation to bottom of cell, (b) small size, and (c) flushleft. (I don't know how to undo the centered format except by this technique that also displays the line boldface.)
  2. [n] represents a single note ({{efn}}) in the footer section Notes, which provides some more explanation.
  3. Redlinks title forfeit and titles forfeit --and perhaps place forfeit, runner-up forfeit, etc, variant terms deemed necessary-- represent links to a single section of the article on cheating, which explains ACBL action on "tainted titles" --or forfeit places, forfeit awards, etc, variant terms deemed necessary. (I agree with Newwhist that a separate article on "tainted titles" --or forfeit places, etc, seems unjustified.)

I dislike the centered format for player listings, but my flushleft suggestion for these one-line notes stands either way. This is not the place to develop the former criticism; and the centered format may even be virtuous here, in order to contrast with the one-line annotations.

That's all for now. Thanks for the preliminary work in your sandbox, Nicolas.

I like the improvement. Suggest we add 'title forfeit by collusive cheating conviction by X-Y.' We don't know that they cheated in the event. Their title was forfeited because of a subsequent conviction.Nicolas.hammond (talk) 20:54, 13 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
