The Wikipedia Signpost: 29 March 2010

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Midnight Sun (novel). We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Midnight Sun (novel). Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:15, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

PWI 500 Ranking

I noticed you removed some PWI 500 ranks on T.J. Perkins' article. Now, you said in the summery that only the top ranking is listed per WP:PW. I have look at WP:PW and have found nothing regarding that in the style guide or anywhere. If you can show me where this information is found, that would be appreciated. Mr. C.C.Hey yo!I didn't do it! 11:31, 3 April 2010 (UTC)

Re:

There you are, I was like 'What's going on?'. Good to hear from ya. :) Dude, don't feel bad, I mean I feel bad for bothering you with a lot and stuff. Thank you, I appreciate that. Though, Pitt's was the one I was really looking more forward, too. BTW, thanks for the ALT, I believe it was praised in the FAC. Oh, okay. I was like 'Damn, I should start on Mikey', but if you got to it, then that's fine I guess. I'll give the article a copy-edit, I mean that's our whole deal and stuff. It's fine, the first time I got to Dykstra's review, that's where I needed help, but later understood what the reviewer was asking of me to do, so it's fine. IDK, I didn't get to see it. Instead, I was here just waiting for the results, and telling everyone who won and stuff. I'm calm, though not like yesterday when I got the news that Shawn lost. I lost it, and of course someone had to make a joke about it, which resulted in that person getting a black eye from me. It's so sad to bear, but this day had to come, though I was expecting it to be later in the year or next year, but not right now. Um, I'm not surprised Cena won, I mean come on, though, I was hella shocked that Edge lost. Oh well. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 16:03, 29 March 2010 (UTC)

I command you not to feel bad. ;) Cause, now I feel bad that you feel bad. Well, I don't intend on working on any wrestling related stuff, so, but if you can do a copy-edit on the plot for "Black Light Attack!" that'd be great. I'm not saying you have to do it, if you got the time to do it, is what I'm asking. :) Yeah, there is, and I'm part of that cause, I think I have eight noms over there. I have to do some reviewing. Oh, thank you, Nici, I appreciate that coming from you. I'm just glad the FAC process is done with. He's had a pretty interesting career, and interesting personal life. Though, I do hope he and Aniston get back together, they were such a great couple. Anyways, I'm glad you enjoyed the article. :) Yeah, I didn't have the money to watch WM, so. :( I heard that many of the matches weren't that great, especially HBK and Taker's. IDK about that, I'm gonna have to check that out. You didn't miss much on Raw. Swagger try to pull an Edge and CM Punk on Cena, but Cena fought back. Oh, Cena and Orton teamed up to face Swagger and Batista, pretty interesting, glad Orton brought back the pose. The Irish dude attacked Triple H while H was saying his "farewell" to HBK. The "main event", HBK came out "embraced" his goodbye, I started crying, I was so sad and couldn't believe this was happening. Yeah, the idiot had the nerve to say that "having a rematch with the guy he lost from last year = 18-0, being obsessed with him = not great, and one at a time, one old dude leaving = priceless". I was so pissed, you have no idea, wrong thing to say at the wrong time, IMO. I know you'll never say stuff like that about HBK, it's fine with Cena, I mean he's my second, not my first whom I root for. IDK, he's been hitting those spears perfectly, I mean I remembered he barely took down someone, I don't remember who, so. On my watchlist and has been protected. Yeah, when I saw that on Miz's article I was like 'I should revert it, but isn't he 'training' someone', so I just left it, but in the future I'll remove it. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 17:27, 30 March 2010 (UTC)
Let's see I created the page notice on March 15... of this year. :) I saw that a whole bunch of people had that, so I joined the trend. Did the "Hello NiciVampireHeart" get ya? Cause it got me one time. Sure, that's fine, I have no rush with that article, so. Exactly. I don't see that whole thing of her being the "sexiest woman alive" thing, heck, Aniston is better looking than her. Yeah, that's what my friend told me; he was like 'You didn't miss much, all the matches were like the same, and the main event [HBK-Taker match] was not great', which really surprised me. When I saw the clips from HBK's match at the beginning of Raw, I was like 'They did the same thing from last year.' Yeah, I was balling last night, though I was pissed when 'Taker's music hit I was like 'How dare you? You of all people here? You got some damn nerve being here and the morning after WM, which I had to fix a bit on his... farewell in the article. I was so sad. Yeah, that would be great seeing Shawn back on Raw, and he'd be a great GM. Yeah, after they won the match, Cena left the ring, and Randy did the pose, I was like 'There's the Randy I know and love.' Though, I was upset that Cody and Ted decided to do it after they beat Randy. Who knows, but Cody got punt in the head, nice to see that happen. Yeah, maybe he's lost his edge... not pun intended... yeah it was. :P OMG, that's funny as hell. The fact that he likes the intro. words to Edge's song... priceless. Oh, okay, I'll keep that in mind [mentoring and training]. :) --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 21:23, 30 March 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for the copy-edit, OMG it reads so professional. :) I appreciate it a lot. Yeah, I knew that that would be a problem. Okay, here's the "back story" to it. Danny had body paint while he was a robot during a sketch. During the after party, in which the theme was a black light one, everybody could see that Danny still had paint on him, as it hadn't washed off or something. To be sure, Jack had a black light switch in his apartment office, and when Liz came in, he turned it on, which resulted in Liz having the paint all over her, see here. Or if whatever I just said doesn't make sense, read here and here (about the paint still on Danny and the black light attack).
Yeah, I thought maybe if people saw that, the GA note, they won't leave me a message. Though, that didn't work, as a user left me a message regarding an article I reviewed. This has to work in the future. I'm a have to make it better. I still haven't gotten the chance to see it, but I have to see it. I need to know what happened and stuff. Well, after I got the news that he lost, I started watching his DVD and telling myself that I'll never see his wrestling moves again. I didn't cry, I was just sad. The night on Raw, I lost it and cried. Whatever, I didn't think that was cool. Shawn didn't mind, but I did. Not really, I still don't see that "face" like quality to him. I think they'll play Randy out like Triple H, you know, good with the crowd, but still have him "heel-ish". Maybe cause all the new people are heel and they need some faces... who knows. Speaking of Randy, today's his birthday, turned 30. Well, if you remember, his first "punted" victim was Shawn, so, nice to see that he did that to Cody... all in the storyline, Nici. :) You are welcome for Danielson and Miz, I guess. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 19:41, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
It's cool, I know you have other stuff to deal with than me, so. :) Thank you, I appreciate that. I was actually gonna let the GA reviewer give me a better suggestion for the "black light attack" bit. So, since I dragged you with this whole "black light attack" thing, I have a question, can you suggest a caption for this image, so that I can add it to the article. I know, I'm sorry. I promise to leave you alone. Yeah, but that note didn't help. I thought maybe having the new note would help me out. I mean, just one person didn't see it, so. Yeah, that was sweet. I chuckled when I saw him as Shane. I kinda knew it was gonna happen, but I wasn't sure, but it was sweet for them to embrace this, I guess. Yeah, I'm liking that. Yeah. Really, he's champion? Good lord. Well, better him than Jericho, really. I was too. I thought Christian would win it. I think he was the favored one. Well, he turned 30 on April 1. Hey, just think of it as you being HBK and the IPs as the Spirit Squad. I later come in, like Triple H did. ;) --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 01:58, 3 April 2010 (UTC)

It's fine. If it's brought up, I'll let the reviewer give me a suggestion, so. You think so? I just hope this works, so that I can avoid these messages in the future. Alright, I'll add that, and it's way better than what I was coming up with. Oh, I hate his lisp, though Cody's got one, too. Really? I thought Jericho was narcissistic. Yes, they are. I mean, first the Irish dude, now Swagger, who's next? I'm just glad that the Irish dude isn't champion, he's too white and didn't look good with the title, sorry but I had to say that. Yup, he's grownup. He's a married man, a father, a mentor to his former protegés, Ted and Cody, and a very good looking man. I know, I couldn't help myself with that analogy, though it made sense to say. "It's nice not to have to wage a one cool person war against the ips", said by NVH [you]. I did searches too, but I didn't find anything about Mitch, so. Though, thanks for looking. :) --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 02:35, 3 April 2010 (UTC)

Done. Yeah, that's true, though I feel bad for people that have lisps, you know, I have a friend, but he can "hide it". Well, I thought that his "character" would change by now. Enough with insulting the audience with "fancy words". Oh well. I didn't mean it as an insult, I mean he's so damn white. Before him, Cena was hella white, now the Irish dude has that record. I know, he was like more buff, but in mid-2007 I started to see "changes" in him; he looked more skinny and stuff. Though, he looks good now, I like his tattoos, but don't like the fact that he keeps shaving his head. I think I might need your help with a little something in Mitch's review. BTW, nice pics for Danielson. :) --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 02:57, 3 April 2010 (UTC)
Alright, hopefully it helps and people read it. I know, I was watching SmackDown and his "champion speech" he tried to "hide it" but it came back and stuff, pretty funny. I guess, but it's shocking how they're just giving the title just like that. Yeah, I guess because of the steroid controversy in '07, maybe he stopped using them, and his body resulted in getting skinnier. I was alarmed by what was happening to 'em. You know, I was like that, too. When he came back, not in November, but after his "injury" when he wore his arm thingy, I saw the tattoos and was like 'What the hell did you do?', but afterwards I was like 'Eh, it fits him.' Yes, thank you for getting those concerns, I had to log off afterwards, cause I was getting really tired. I hope you gave yourself credit for what you did. :) On TV, or YouTube? --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 22:13, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, though, I'm getting used to it. :( It's fine, dude. You deal with your stuff, and it's understandable... and stuff. ;) Cool, cool. Yes, cause you did some good work with what the reviewer was asking me to do, the stuff I got was minor. I know, I got some of my articles reviewed, which is cool. I'm doing my part as well, so I won't be a "bad person" just submitting articles over there. Was it? Well, it's ROH, so. :) Um, I got your back with Ted and the whole "Million Dollar champion" thing. Hmmm, Aries b-day is April 15, one day after mine... he must be bloody brilliant. :) --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 02:03, 8 April 2010 (UTC)
Don't feel bad, I know you have to deal with other issues than to respond to what I say. :) Yes, give yourself credit, cause you deserve it. I know, I was going to review one, but it was gone, I was like 'Damn, somebody beat me to the punch.' Yes, so damn bloody. Yeah, when IPs started adding that he was the current Million Dollar Champion I was like 'Says who?', so. Yeah, I saw that. I was gonna comment, but I didn't know what to say, but just 'Says who?'. On Raw, he didn't say that he was the champion, just that his dad gave him the title as a sentiment. I'm telling you they'll give anyone anything now. Yes, cause mine is on April 14, oh I'm sorry 14 April. :P All the good qualities one looks for in a guy... nice. ;) --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 23:37, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

An editor has nominated Brimstone (wrestler), an article which you have created or worked on, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Brimstone (wrestler) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to address the nominator's concerns but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. -Fall Of Darkness (talk)

  • User BoosterBronze has added this tag for deletion to the page today, after repeated reverted edits to the article, and after a slight "rant" on the article's talk page. The article itself had been put up for deletion in 2007, and was voted as Keep- in fact, the new deletion tag links straight to the archived page, where BoosterBronze has added their own comment and vote to the already closed discussion. Not sure what to do as far as removing the tag myself- any help would be appreciated. -Fall Of Darkness (talk) 23:58, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

Your edit to Ted DiBiase, Jr.

He appeared on Raw with the belt and the commentators stated he was now one of the men who have held the belt including The Ringmaster and Ted DiBiase, Sr. I heard them explicitly state it, Nici. I think it is quite official that he is now Million Dollar Champion. Feedback 23:14, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

"show off his father's Million Dollar Championship, which he brought with him to the ring". WWE.com appears to disagree, stating it is still DiBiase senior's championship. ♥NiciVampireHeart23:42, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

I have seen a video that dates back in 2003, and Striker said in that video that he will be turning 25 years old, meaning he was born in 1978.

WikiCup 2010 April newsletter

Round two is over, and we are down to our final 32. For anyone interested in the final standings (though not arranged by group) this page has been compiled. Congratulations to Pennsylvania Hunter Kahn (submissions), our clear overall round winner, and to Colombia ThinkBlue (submissions) and Norway Arsenikk (submissions), who were solidly second and third respectively. There were a good number of high scorers this round- competition was certainly tough! Round three begins tomorrow, but anything promoted after the end of round two is eligible for points. 16 contestants (eight pool leaders and eight wildcards) will progress to round four in two months- things are really starting to get competitive. Anything you worry may not receive the necessary attention before the end of the round (such as outstanding GA or FA nominations) is welcome at Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews, and please remember to continue offering reviews yourself where possible. As always, the judges are available to contact via email, IRC or their talk pages, and general discussion about the Cup is welcome on the WikiCup talk page.

Judge iMatthew has retired from Wikipedia, and we wish him the best. The competition has been ticking over well with minimal need for judge intervention, so thank you to everyone making that possible. A special thank you goes to participants Bavaria Stone (submissions) and White Shadows (submissions) for their help in preparing for round three. Good luck everyone! If you wish to start receiving or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. WikiProject Professional wrestling

Hi there.

It looks to me like you might be the best person to ask about this; it's concerning the WikiProject Professional wrestling newsletter. I've noticed that it is responsible for some of the longest of all user talk pages on Wikipedia, and many of them are users that have been inactive for a very long time.

For example, see User talk:Zeppy1968, which consists almost entirely of the newsletter, and the user has not contributed to Wikipedia since September 2008.

Other examples include User talk:Tsaalyo Phoenix inactive since December 2008, User talk:ProtoWolf inactive since Jan 2009, and User talk:CenaxOrtonxFan, who seems to have been inactive since June 2009.

Such huge pages can cause problems for people trying to open them. Of course, they are mostly inactive, thus the odds of people needing to access them are reduced. However, as they are the very biggest user talks on Wikipedia, I wonder if we could review the list of users scheduled to receive the newsletter, and perhaps leave the inactive users a note, asking them to re-add their names if they come back to editing - and maybe archive the older newsletters or something.

If you need help with any of it, give me a shout - and feel free to tell me to shut up and not worry about it, too. Best,  Chzz  ►  21:13, 1 May 2010 (UTC)

Eve Torres

Nic, could you explain to me why the website and that secondary source (which is too general for the subject matter IMO) out strips the TV content where she is clearly introduced by Justin Roberts as "Eve Torres", and referred to by both Lawler and Cole in commentary in the same terms on occasion? Does this mean the TV content means absolutely zero? I don't understand this. It makes no sense to me whatsover. !! Justa Punk !! 13:47, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

Talk about moving goalposts. Anyway, I'm perfectly fine with listing both ring names - it seems the logical and obvious solution. ♥NiciVampireHeart10:16, 4 May 2010 (UTC)

WikiProject Professional wrestling newsletter message

It has recently been brought to the attention of WP:PW that the newsletter is being to delivered to several users who have not been actively editing for several months. As a result, their talk pages have become increasingly large, unmanageable and slow to load due to a lack of archiving.
In response, this message is being sent to all editors listed in Category:WikiProject Professional wrestling participants to say that anyone who does not list their name at Wikipedia:WikiProject Professional wrestling/Newsletter/Active before May 16 will be automatically listed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Professional wrestling/Newsletter/Nospam, and will no longer receive the newsletter or any notification of it. If you are added to Wikipedia:WikiProject Professional wrestling/Newsletter/Nospam, please feel free to remove your name if you desire.
If you wish to continue receiving the newsletter as normal, please add your name to Wikipedia:WikiProject Professional wrestling/Newsletter/Active. If you simply wish to receive notification of a new issue, but not have the full newsletter delivered to your talk page, please add your name to the notification only list.
If you have any queries please contact me at my talk page or leave a message at WT:PW. Thank you for your co-operation. ♥NiciVampireHeart00:36, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

The above message was distributed to all users in that category. There were a few oddities, a few people had {{nobots}} and suchlike - I did those by hand. Let me know if I can help in any other way, best,  Chzz  ►  03:38, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. -- PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 09:10, 8 May 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for the notice, but the only edits I made to the article 2 years ago were to bring it inline with the WP:PW/SG. I have no vested interest in the article, and no opinion on its notability. ♥NiciVampireHeart14:06, 8 May 2010 (UTC)
No worries! I always notify every editor with 3 or more edits to the article (apart from obvious bots) plus the creator (even if the only edit they make was to create it! That way, no one can claim that they weren't told! Incidently, I am slowly working on various unreferenced BLPs from 2007 at the moment, looking for reliable sources - if I can find them, I'll add them to the article (and remove unsourced info , as I did at xx, and xx); if I can't find them, I'll AfD them - and there have been a couple of wrestlers, so you might find the occasional message over the next couple of weeks from me! -- PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 14:36, 8 May 2010 (UTC)
That's a good policy - I've seen articles nominated where only the creator gets a notice, and half the time they aren't even active any more. It doesn't bother me unduly, really, I don't tend to involve myself in deletion debates, but if I believe the article should be kept, I'll jump into the discussion to say so. I don't doubt it - I've had to edit most pro wrestling articles on here to make them comply with the WP:PW/SG over the past two and a half years, so my name crops up in most page histories. Feel free to keep dropping notices on my page; if I can improve the article I will, if not, the notice will get archived eventually, so no worries. ♥NiciVampireHeart14:42, 8 May 2010 (UTC)
