Speedy deletion nomination of DNA elements
[edit]A tag has been placed on DNA elements requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Please consider your options
[edit]I have marked your new article for speedy deletion because it contains no content, only headings. I understand that you probably intended to fill in the page, but please consider that Wikipedia already has an extensive article on DNA. Based on its title, it appeared to me that your new article would have substantially reproduced information already included there. Rather than create a new article, why not consider improving and expanding the existing article? WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 18:23, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
March 2010
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from DNA elements, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Declan Clam (talk) 18:24, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to the page DNA elements. Such edits constitute vandalism and are reverted. Please do not continue to make unconstructive edits to pages; use the sandbox for testing. Thank you. Evenios (talk) 20:32, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
Please do not vandalize pages, as you did with this edit to DNA elements. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing. Evenios (talk) 20:33, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
What is it you want?
[edit]You have blanked DNA compositions several times. When an author blanks a page that he himself has created, that is generally taken as a sign that the author would like the page to be deleted. Another editor has marked the page with the {{db-author}} tag, indicating that the page should be deleted because the author blanked it. If you don't wish to have the page deleted, stop blanking it! WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 20:38, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
This is your final warning. You will be blocked from editing the next time you remove a speedy deletion notice from a page you have created yourself, as you did with this edit to DNA compositions. GorillaWarfare talk 20:39, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
Cell compositions
[edit]I have changed the delete reason on Cell compositions from "no content" to "does not substantially improve on content already found at DNA". You are free to place the {{hangon}} tag again, but please consider that there is already a vast array of information on DNA and molecular biology already present in Wikipedia. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 11:18, 19 March 2010 (UTC)
- I have moved this page to User:NevinJ/Cell compositions, where you may work on it at your leisure. If you decide that the page is ready to be displayed as an encyclopedia article, please click the move button at the top of the page; please read WP:Your first article first, though. If you decide that you would rather add information to existing articles or otherwise no longer wish to use this userspace draft, please put {{db-author}} anywhere on the page and a friendly admin will drop by to clean it up. If you have any questions or would like help with anything, please do not hesitate to stop by my talkpage. Regards, - 2/0 (cont.) 21:37, 20 March 2010 (UTC)
Your contributed article, Cell Components
[edit]Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Cell Components. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as yourself. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - DNA. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will to continue helping improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at DNA - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.
If you think that the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Declan Clam (talk) 19:58, 21 March 2010 (UTC)
You were given the opportunity to edit this page in your user space. Simply re-creating it under a different name looks rather like gaming the system. Declan Clam (talk) 20:00, 21 March 2010 (UTC)
- NevinJ, what are you trying to accomplish here? If I could understand that, then I might be able to help, but right now your edits do not make a lot of sense in terms of improving the encyclopedia. Please? - 2/0 (cont.) 14:40, 22 March 2010 (UTC)
Status and Advice
[edit]Please, this page is essentially a very brief sketch of the contents in a number of articles, including particularly Biochemistry. I and another admin have now deleted it at least twice, under various titles. It is not going to make a Wikipedia article--a sketch like this is not at what we consider an encyclopedic level. You have been doing a good deal of work, and it's a pity that it should have been wasted, when there are more useful things you could do here-- see WP:CTW. DGG ( talk ) 02:28, 25 March 2010 (UTC)

- see my comment above. WP already has articles on these subjects. Please do not enter it again unless you can add some material which we do not have already. DGG ( talk ) 17:39, 3 April 2010 (UTC)
Account blocked
[edit]{{unblock|Your reason here}}
below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Gogo Dodo (talk) 20:31, 3 April 2010 (UTC)- You have been warned multiple times about creating articles that duplicate much of the content in DNA and you continue to create them. Therefore, I have temporarily blocked you from editing Wikipedia. Please stop creating new articles that duplicate existing content. Additionally, your threat to delete other editor's articles because yours have been deleted is not appreciated. Please do not make such threats. Thank you. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 20:34, 3 April 2010 (UTC)

Repeated creation of articles that duplicate an existing topic
Decline reason: You have been blocked directly as stated in your block log. Since you have not provided a reason for being unblocked, your request has been declined. You may provide a reason for being unblocked by adding {{unblock | your reason here}} to the bottom of your talk page, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first.
Blocked again
[edit]When the above block expired, you created Basic Building Blocks of Life. Would you agree that that justifies blocking you again? Next time the block is likely to be indefinite. You will find your text at User:NevinJ/Cell compositions. If you wish to contribute, I suggest you stick to improving existing articles. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 03:29, 8 April 2010 (UTC)
