[edit]Hey there. I can add the fair use the images...but inline citations? I'm guessing those are where you see those tiny numbers after certain sentences? How would one do that? Sorry, I'm a newbie at the Good Article stuff...Thanks for the message! I'll work on the images that are my work that are in that article. :) FamicomJL 01:55, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
- You mean like what I just did now in the To Tell The Truth article? Look under the references section...Thanks! FamicomJL 19:15, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
- Oooo good, that's what I wanted to know how to do. Thank you so much! :) I really want to see this article be a GA. :)FamicomJL 19:57, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
- I added the sources to the two things that needed citations. I also added some sources/citations to things that didn't say they needed it, but I was pretty sure that they did. :) Does it look better now? FamicomJL 20:15, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
- Ahh, okay. I'll do that to the two images on there that I made and uploaded myself. Should I tell the guy who uploaded the others to add a fair use rationale to his? I'll get to work as much as I can on getting those citations. :) Thank you so much for being so kind and patient in helping me. :) FamicomJL 20:40, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
- Something like this? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Tttt.jpg FamicomJL 20:44, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks. That should be the last you hear from me, until if the article becomes a Good Article. Thank you so much! :) FamicomJL 20:47, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you so much for helping out. ^_^ FamicomJL 03:13, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
Beechcraft 1900 GA
[edit]Hi, Nehrams.
I am sorry to be so late in getting back to the party, and I thank you for your interest in the Beechcraft 1900 article, and your GA review.
I have made many of the edits you recommended, and will get back to you with other edits as well as some matters I recommend remain as they are (with reasons). This note is first a very belated "thank you," and second a comment to let you know that I am working on your recommendations. Thanks again, and I will get back to you with more comprehensive comments soon. Mikepurves 15:52, 30 June 2007 (UTC)

GAC backlog
[edit]Argh! It's back, only this time it's worst than before! Do you want to help me organize another backlog elimination drive? This time I got a better idea. What we need to do is create an award system, not just a single award (i.e. Good Article Medal of Merit). I borrowed the idea in Wikipedia:WikiProject Biography/Assessment/Assessment Drive#Awards. All we need is change the #'s and the awards to be handed out and we're done! Tell me about your ideas and how we can work together to kill this backlog again. OhanaUnitedTalk page 09:44, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
- We'll pick the numbers later. For now, let's get started, shall we? Let's make this thing massive, say it ends at the end of July. And if it's not enough, extend it to the end of August. Are we going to use the old page and archive the old version into a separate page? Or just erase everything and start blank? OhanaUnitedTalk page 17:40, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
- I'll invite him then. I believe that "haste make waste" so I don't believe in handing out awards to those who assessed the most articles. We just need a running total, and whoever passes the mark that we set beforehand, they'll get that award. This time I think failing GA review should deserve to be counted towards the running total. This is to prevent people from passing articles simply to get a higher count. How can 3 of us co-ordinate without posting the same stuff on 2 others' talk pages? OhanaUnitedTalk page 19:06, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, I went to bed after my last message last night. Since this time it takes place longer, so the #'s should be higher. This is my proposal: 5 for The Original Barnstar, 10 for The Working Man's Barnstar, 25 for The Tireless Contributor Barnstar, 50 for GA medal of merit. Only failing or passing will be counted as completing one, quick-fail do not count. We also need to encourage people in proposing GAC. I will start the drive's page now. OhanaUnitedTalk page 04:56, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
- I have created this page Wikipedia:Good article candidates backlog elimination drive OhanaUnitedTalk page 06:14, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
The reason why quick-fail doesn't count in is that I don't want editors to use quick-fail to run up the total. I guess I'll eliminate the Original Barnstar, and shift everything down. So the new proposal is 5 for The Working Man's Barnstar, 10 for The Tireless Contributor Barnstar, 25 for GA medal of merit. Just in case if someone did extraordinary work, they will receive something like Golden Wiki Award. However, this won't be mentioned in public to give them incentives to chase for the award as oppose to reducing the backlog. I want to stress that reducing backlog is more important than awards. Awards are just token of thanks for their effort, NOT using it as a showcase to show others how wonderful they are. OhanaUnitedTalk page 09:24, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
- So ready to start promoting the page? I'm going to announce it on community portal. How can I help ease your promotion workload?
- Do I post it on the main page? Or the talk page? After adding them, I'll be heading to bed. OhanaUnitedTalk page 18:07, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you. I just got up and posting the announcements on anything that is related to GA. It's time for us to get to work, as we need to start vertify the reviews. OhanaUnitedTalk page 05:18, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
- I just found someone who's totally unfamiliar with the GA process. Read Talk:Super Nintendo Entertainment System#Good Article nomination and FunPika just basically passed it without any notes. I'm going to leave a message on his talk page. I hope the first few days we go through checks to make sure it started off right, or else the article will be in wrong status for a whole month before being corrected. OhanaUnitedTalk page 05:25, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
- I guess they can go back up to beginning of July. I don't think this is a major issue as those who participate prior to the drive starts have their heart in evaluating GAs, not winning awards. Plus most of them already got a GA medal of merit already. OhanaUnitedTalk page 05:33, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

It's time for us to change the message on GAC page that tells people to use the old template ({{GA|oldid=nnnnnn|topic=}}) with {[tl|ArticleHistory}}. Sounds good? OhanaUnitedTalk page 05:39, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
- How about tell people to use both {{GA}} and {{ArticleHistory}}? OhanaUnitedTalk page 05:45, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
- I'm now implementing a label system to speed up our work to check reviews. Check the drive's page for details. OhanaUnitedTalk page 06:11, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
I'm having troubles again with FunPika. Even though I left a message uring him to follow the steps, he completely disregard my message and continue his own way of assessing it on Union Pacific Railroad. Can you try do something about it? OhanaUnitedTalk page 12:16, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
- I hope everything will be smoothed out. But I can't stand an article in wrong class for 4 months... Oh yeah, I'm about to go to bed. It seems like everytime you got on is the time I'm about to get off :P OhanaUnitedTalk page 18:00, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

- Hi Nehrams2020,
The article is progressing really well and you are to be congratulated for it. A suggestion - could the answers they received to the questions in scientific goal be covered in results - the age of nucleus and whether comets can be deflected? This is really interesting stuff to which the user will search the results section for. I hope I'm not exceeding my brief as reviewer. Regards, AshLin 06:08, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
Films
[edit]Hi Nehrams hope your studies are going well and are off on vacation. First have you ever considered some new parameters to the film template -including genre, art direction, casting, second unit director, costume design for example. Also do you think its worth setting up a branch of film WPFilms/Westerns to conentrate on improving western film articles -I know a number of members who would be interested.
You'll be pleased to know I have created two new templates for film images these include Template:Filmrationale (for screenshots and posters) and Template:Filmbiorationale (for all deceased film people). I regularly upload many images and it is SOOO! much easier. It has been long awaited and already many users are beginning to use them. For normal bios use Template:Biorationale
I have noticed a crackdown on images to the point that it is seriously affectig our articles, For instance Cinema of the UNited States looks ridiculous with no images. Surely there is even an image of CHarlie Chaplin which is publuic domain? I really hope our images will remain including our main film reel icons which were supposed to be deleted July 1.
I have begun an enormous task of compiling the list of American films in which I have asked the project to help out. Any contribution even if it is adding one or two details particularly 1960-present is really needed.
Hope you are well and await your response ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you" Contribs 14:05, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

July newsletter submission
[edit]Here is some possible news for the July newsletter. I am uncertain how to start the next issue, so I'm submitting it here.
- * The film reel photograph that was used on the project template and on many other templates and film articles was deleted on July 2. The image originated from the stock.xchng photo archive that had copyright terms that were incompatible with the Wikimedia Commons. In the interim, Image:Film reel.svg, was used as a replacement on the {{Film}} template. The search is on for other freely licensed or public-domain images that might be suitable for illustrations in film articles and templates.
This news may change between now and the next newsletter, but I'll try to keep track of it. Great job in getting the newsletter out. — WiseKwai 09:12, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
Flickr images on Commons
[edit]Hi. I was going through images on Commons tagged as needing human review and found Commons:Image:Annafaris07.jpg. I saw where you indicated on the image talk page that you have a release from the author of the image. If you have not already done so already, can you forward that letter of permission (and any others you have received for other images) to "permissions-en AT wikimedia DOT org"? Since the uploader left the image as "All rights reserved" on flickr, the permission can't be confirmed that way, but if you forward the permission you received to that address, someone with m:OTRS access will verify the permission and tag the image appropriately. Thanks. --BigΔT 22:54, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

Re:Bruce Willis
[edit]It's just an encyclopedic article should stay as timeless as possible, and talking about Willis' new movies smacks of a fansite. I think it's something better left to IMDb, unless you wish to rewrite the lead to discuss his whole career. Thanks about Transformers praise: it's not even out in the UK yet it is practically FA! Linkspam
[edit]I just want to make sure... is it considered linkspam to carry out a blanket solicitation campaign of one site, even if it's a completely acceptable review source? However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Alternate idea for template
[edit]See relevant discussion at User talk:Ernst Stavro Blofeld#RE:Hello Abu the Bad. What do you think? Would it be possible to create a template like that? —Erik (talk • contrib) - 20:35, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
It is precisely for the reason that often film posters can not be located and we often use DVD/VHS promo covers etc in the infobox that I thought the template:filmrationale was a perfect name as it covers the many different types of images. Filmposterrationale would seem silly on a VHS image wouldn't it and a bit of a contradiction. I really don't see what is wrong with it as it is ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you?" GAC backlog elimination drive
[edit]As we are very close to the end of backlog elimination drive, it's time for us to vertify that every single review follows GA criteria. Now I need to deliver some news to you, I will be on a trans-Pacific flight on August 13 so I will not be able to start vertifying the moment the clock reaches August 13. We also need to organize a way so that we can complete vertification as fast as possible without any overlapping. My suggestion is to place a check mark (i.e. Done) in front of each article vertified. Any with doubts are marked with Question: . Does this sound good to you? OhanaUnitedTalk page 16:02, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
- I'm back (yay!). Now let's get started on checking reviews. I would say that it's safe to skip reviews by me, you, and Epbr123 because we're very familiar with the process. Is there anything in particular that is preferred, do you know? Thanks again for your help and attention to detail in your assessment in the GA review; I believe I've got it mostly under control. María (críticame) 18:18, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the advice; I think I've got the gist of it now. Although I still plan to tinker with the article here and there, I've answered all of your suggested points and problem areas, and added more information as I came across it while doing research. Could you perhaps take a look to see if I'm on the right track, and offer any other suggestions you may have? I greatly appreciate your help! Now I'm wishing I had nominated the article myself so it could be my first GA. :) María (críticame) 19:00, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
American films
[edit]Progress is steady but its gradually taking shape. If possible I'd like to document the film studio and box office records and if possible a one or two sentence plot summary for each film. Eventually we should have a summary of 110 years of movies -each one of them with detailed good articles!! James Bond is going good too our GA collaboration of the week is quite successful! Hope you had a good hol -this is why I hadn't contacted you! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you?" Contribs 19:27, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
What your view on the format of the American films of 2007? I really like the letter header divides BUT if you click the edit on each one it goes to the template rather than the actual films. Also using templates to construct tables is not a good idea - subject to vandalism which will affect the entire tables and may confuse people who are editing. I'd prefer the layout like American films of 1993 . What do you think? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you?" Contribs 11:17, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
Oh yes I've seen the film. Great isn't it. Simon Pegg I find very funny - he's become quite popular Britain -he has appeared on countless talk shows even Richard and Judy several times. Timothy Dalton unusually appeared in it. Correct me if I'm wrong but British comedy seems to becoming world reknowned and increasingly popular in the US along with the likes of Sacha Baron Cohen and Ricky Gervais. Its quite uninhibited isn't it!! and I know many may find offensive. Hale and Pace are comedy legends in my eyes - you probably haven't heard of them. Of course then are the classics like Fawlty Towers , Little Britain etc. Very good work on it - I noticed Mr Wise has done some edits on it too. Let me know what British comedy he watch or are into ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you?" Contribs 21:53, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
Thanks!
[edit]Thank you so much for your help, and also for passing Knut (polar bear) a GA. Hopefully this won't be the last one you see from me. Take care, María (críticame) 12:11, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

another GA drive?
[edit]Since you were one of the main people behind the July 2007 backlog elimination drive, I thought I'd let you know that I've started a new proposal for a longer, three-month GA review drive, that would run from September 1 through November 30. The aim here would be to draw new reviewers to the GA project and to keep the backlog down. I've made a couple of minor modifications to the rules and awards structure from the July drive. The proposal can be viewed here. Any help you'd like to offer would be appreciated! Dr. Cash 00:49, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
Citation templates
[edit]Hi Nehrams. Thanks for the GA feedback. It's good to be able to get some info from a more experienced person.
When you say "the inline citations should also be using citation templates", I haven't been insisting on this because I thought citation templates were optional. This is what WP:CITE says:
- The use of citation templates is neither encouraged nor discouraged by this or any other guideline. Templates may be used at the discretion of individual editors, subject to agreement with other editors on the article. Some editors find them helpful, arguing that they maintain a consistent style across articles, while other editors find them unnecessary and annoying, particularly when used inline in the text, because they make the text harder to read in edit mode and therefore harder to edit.
Would be grateful for any clarification... Johnfos 04:30, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
Movie Trailers
[edit]Got a question for which I can't seem to find a direct answer. Some film articles contain images in them, particularly in the synopsis/plot section. I was thinking about illustrating some of my articles with stills from movie trailers. 1) Is it okay to add images in an article for a lesser known film? (Therefore going to have less content... and not going to be an FA...) 2) Is it okay to use still images taken from movie trailers? 3) If it IS okay, is it advisable? Thank you for your help! Re: Roll call
[edit]Yep, I meant what they usually work on or intend to work on. For example, I deal a lot with future films, obviously. It'd be beneficial to collaborate with other editors who are trying to do the same. I haven't seen The Invasion yet (kind of put off of it for obvious reasons -- probably will maintain the article and wait for the DVD). I'd like to get my eyes on Sunshine, too... the only reason I haven't nominated it is because I want to trim the Plot section (which I've avoided reading) and expanding the Critical reaction section. And thanks for the wishes for Batman Begins... it'd be nice to show Wikipedia that fictional subjects can be well-developed, too. Bignole's working on some great critical reaction, Alientraveller is looking into prose about the cast rather than just a list, and I'm researching for more difficult sources (like Cinefantastique) to put anything extra in the article. Got any upcoming projects to work on? —Erik (talk • contrib) - 21:01, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
- I know what you mean; I've been trying to venture into other areas as well. I intended to start improving Kingdom Come (comic book), but in trying to use Watchmen as a guide, I wound up focusing on the latter, even if it's at FA status. I'm hoping to create my own version and to provide it in a FAR process so it could be implemented. Might even do an actor or actress, as Alientraveller just improved Eva Green, but I feel pretty cozy with my film work... I guess the structure of a film as a one-time project makes it nice and stable and limited to a degree. Anyway, I've been toning my research skills pretty well in terms of coverage and interviews, so if you ever want additional coverage for films or actors or directors, just let me know. I'll be glad to help. —Erik (talk • contrib) - 21:13, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

Don't revert to a higher resolution that what is allowed by the Non-free content criteria. Images with a resolution higher that 300px by 300px should be lowered to satisfy the policy. — Moe ε 22:39, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
- Generally, 300px on the height or width of non-free media is considered to be the maximum for fair use qualification (see Template:Non-free_use_rationale#_note-1), so yes, 400px is fairly large. I'll try to reincrease it the maximum 300 on the length in a little bit. — Moe ε 00:06, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

Roll call details
[edit]I think that the roll call should just mention that members can also signup as participants in the task forces linked in the sidebar, and the coordinator elections as well, with a link to the election page. We need to set up something like this, which was the page for the first election of MilHist coordinators. What do you think? Girolamo Savonarola 01:53, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
- Maybe the link would be the election page's talk page, but the actual election page would have a notice that the details of the election process are currently under discussion? That way the page can be prepared as per the discussion while it's being discussed? Basically, something like {{proposed}}, where you write the first draft, then the real work happens in the talk page. Girolamo Savonarola 02:45, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
- Okay, so you're doing the notice and I'm doing the coordinator page? Girolamo Savonarola 02:53, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
Alright, so a little longer than I anticipated, but here it is: Wikipedia:WikiProject Films/Coordinators, with a subpage /Election 1 for this election. If you can incorporate that into the roll call banner, that would be great. Then we can place the banner at the top of WP Films' main page and on all the user talk pages. (Let me know when you're doing that, so I can help if available.) I'm going to announce the Coordinator page on the project talk page now, since technically the clock is already ticking on the process... Girolamo Savonarola 04:45, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
- Made some changes on my talk page. Let me know when you've launched this, because I think I'm gonna shift the election timeline accordingly, just to make certain that everyone has enough time. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Thecomebacksmp.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Thecomebacksmp.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. Category splitting
[edit]Hi Nehrams. Do you think it might be time to reorganize the prime categories of genre such as comedy, westerns, drama and action into decades like Horror films. e.g Category:1970s horror films After all the stub categories are organized in 1970s comedy films etc. I certainly want to keep the categories as simple as possible as agreed in the past but I do feel a split by decade would organize the primary genre categories which span the entirety of world film history better and would be a step in the right sdirection, I find the horror films split like this easier to use. I await your feeling on this. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 18:40, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
Are you well? Ahem - misunderstanding there thanks!!! Yes I requested a name change so it said more about my organization and efforts of world domaination. I meant to do it a while back but obviously other things are more important!! I also added some of my life details like how I bought my volcano from Emperor Hirohito in the summer of 1966 for "1 million dollars" in time for You Only Live Twice (film). There is also an image of minime looking very obese indeed. I definately think somebody should bring the genre categorization up at WP Films. Of course we all agreed against too narrow categories before like 1971 brazilian horror films etc but if the main genres like comedy, western, action and drama etc were split by decade like horro I do think it better organized. Congrats on Hot Fuzz and your other good work . Saludos and nice to hear from you ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 21:09, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

Fair use disputed for Image:Zebrahead.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Zebrahead.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. [edit]I gave User:Lugnuts a Silent film barnstar. He has created over 700 articles on silent films and actors I think and deserves to be recognized. While this shouldn't be seen as the "Offical barnstar" this could be announced in the next news letter as I feel he is doing very important work not only on early films but actors and actresses too which as we know was and still isn't really all that developed. While most are stubs I still think he is doing important work in filling in links. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 11:57, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
As an example check his editing history today and you'll see how much he's doing!!! I'm very pleased someone is working in this area which tends to get neglected. Parts of the American lists are developing well now see American films of 1933 and American films of 1934, its just from 1940 to 2006 needs a tremendous amount of editing to be anywhere near achieving its potential. But its a start ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 21:48, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

re: images
[edit]Is "haven't had enough coffee yet" a reason? :) Seriously, the instructions for having images deleted when they have a "disputed" or invalid fair use rationale are confusing. If you read the speedy criteria for images, it states that if an image has a disputed fair use rationale, it should be tagged with {{subst:dfu}}. That will place it in a proper dated category for deletion if no one addresses the concern.
So we want to use those types of tags for unfree images rather than the db-tags if that makes sense. However, the entire issue is moot in this case since you are the uploader and the images could just be treated with db-author. Make sense? --Spike Wilbury ♫ talk 15:34, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

Coordinator position
[edit]I want to ask you and few other editors this: I was wondering if you had considered perhaps throwing your hat in the ring for one of the coordinator positions? It seems that you tend to have a good perspective on the larger project-wide issues, but also tend extensively to the articles themselves, and I think it would lend itself well to the position. If you're concerned about the responsibility being too much, I would only like to point out that there are several positions designated for precisely that reason, and the nature of a wiki being that there are always open tasks, the position certainly wouldn't be expected to be on top of everything at all times - rather, it functions to maintain and administer the project organization centrally as need be. (Additionally, if your RfA goes through - which it looks like it will (and good luck! :)) - then your admin powers would potentially be a good asset for the coordinators. I had thought about perhaps requiring that at least one have admin status, but it seemed too unfair. Perhaps the coordinators could be expected to designate an admin liaison to help with any issues requiring admin rights.) Many thanks, Girolamo Savonarola 18:50, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

I made an agreement with the Director of Caledonian publishing. Did you know about this also?? I am blushing today a record 4 barnstars!!! This makes up for any difficulty I've had on here big time. I have just read the Casino article and I am amazed it took so long to clear - I genuinely believed it was FA standard back in April - . It is almost identical to what is was back in April. Strange. I'm currently on American films of 1934 and am adding some articles as I go like The Case of the Howling Dog and one for Mr bigglesworth The Cat and the Fiddle which I was amazed didn't exist hahaha and the amazingly paedophilically sounding Children of Pleasure (cringe cringe). I am a great fan of the Golden era of Hollywood anyway but adding the films takes time Its probably better to fill all the tables in first but as you can understand it can very difficult to solely concentrate on this. Its the 1940s to the present I am concerned about that will suffer for some time unless there are some editors who come across them and decide to contribute. They are after all clearly linked at the top of Category:American films which should get some traffic anyway. I wish there was some way a bot could go it. Thanks for helping with 2007 anyway I appreciate it. Oh I would only be too willing to give another editor the film barnstar but as yet I haven't seen anybody myself who would completely fit the bill (aside from those who already have it)only lugnuts who i gave the silent one to. I understand you are reviewing the Dutch Revolt article. I would like to think it’s a good article, however, I’m not sure The article may have two pervasive problems. One, the article is unbalanced, it’s too much the Dutch narrative, layered with centuries of nation-building necessities. For balance, particularly regarding the origins and early stages of the revolt and the war, see, for example: Philip of Spain, by Henry Kamen, Yale University Press, 1997; and The Grand Strategy of Philip II, by Geoffrey Parker, Yale University Press, 2000. Two, the article suggests too much certainty where recent research puts up question marks or concludes fluidity, diversity, non-linearity and differentiation. Take differentiation: I have seen enough to know that the best professional consensus thinking (particularly in Britain) nowadays makes a distinction between the Dutch Revolt and the Eighty Years War – in fact, even the talk page of the article mentions the distinction (BTW, not my mention). However, the distinction has been edited out of the article itself again. I know it goes against the Wikipedia philosophy – but the article may need the contribution of a few professionals to reflect the best of current thinking. I’m afraid that we the good-willing amateurs are running maybe 20 or 30 years behind and that the article looks amateurish. -- Iterator12n Talk 22:30, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
Does this count as another header toward archiving?
[edit]Well, as for the under-referenced article, I'm not one to bomb an article with fact tags. I think it's pointless. I'd say leave a note with a few examples of what needs to be sourced. Tell them any statements similar to those. If anyone shows interest in fixing it and they request further examples or fact tags, then go from there. No sense in bombing an article if there isn't anyone willing to fix it. If it's delisted, we don't want a load of tags on the article, ya know? LaraLove 02:49, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
Sconsin Heights
[edit]Hey there. I noticed that you made a few minor adjustments to Battle of Wisconsin Heights. However, just be careful to pay attention to wording when you alter it, in the case of from v. in 1830, there is a fine distinction, the incursions did not only occur in 1830. I have further clarified this point by introducing phrasing that notes betwenn 1830–1831. Just remember, the worst thing a copy editor can do is introduce a factual error. Just try to watch for these minor distinctions in meanings, otherwise, keep up the good work you do. :) IvoShandor 21:24, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
- I have noticed two you have done so far, is that right? I could have missed them, my watchlist is so long. If you have the time, and remember, maybe you could drop a note on my talk page when you do a sweeps review on one of my articles, in case I miss it. I do like to look over the changes just because, you never know, as in the above case. This would be most helpful if you could manage it. Otherwise, I shall just keep my eyes peeled. Thanks for the reviews and changes, btw. IvoShandor 21:32, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks, I know there are more in there. Are these GA "sweeps" going to be fairly regular from now on? I must admit, I have mostly been ignoring this topic on the GA talk pages. IvoShandor 23:07, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
