Hi John, just curious, why you think that the info about current domains volume was considered as spam?

The above was copied from my talk.
The problem is that Wikipedia is used literally hundreds of times a day to promote external websites—people go to a lot of trouble to find ways to mention their favorite website in as many articles as possible. Wikipedia would be overrun with spam if strong pushback did not occur, and it is not possible to take an hour to evaluate every case. It is conceivable that some of the links you added might be useful, but someone with no conflict of interest would need to evaluate the whole article in order to determine what external websites warrant mention. People often create a new account and focus on adding external links—sorry, but there are not enough hours in the day to evaluate each case.
Questions can be asked at the Teahouse (see above), or at WP:HELPDESK. For discussion about the use of a particular link, see WP:ELN (I recently asked a question there, see WP:External links/Noticeboard#LinkSearch and https).
For reference, the articles concerned are 1&1 Internet + Bluehost + Domain name + GoDaddy + IPage + SiteGround.
Please see WP:TP for information on talk pages, including that a signature should be added to a comment with a space and then four tilde characters at the end of the last line of the comment. If you reply here, I will see the response so there is no need to alert me. Johnuniq (talk) 00:02, 17 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
