October 2013
Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Baulkham Hills, New South Wales may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Australian signs
If you would be so kind to direct me to the discussion, then I'll join it. Fry1989 eh? 00:14, 10 October 2013 (UTC)
- @Fry1989: - Wikipedia:WikiProject_Australian_Roads/Shields#Shield_moves_-_Part_II - Sorry about revert-fest 2013! XD. Also keep in mind that our laws are even more restrictive than Canada's laws (which are considered roughly halfway between ours and the US [eg. File:Australian Aboriginal Flag.svg is copyrighted - despite consisting of two rectangles and a circle :\ ]). -- Nbound (talk) 00:20, 10 October 2013 (UTC)
Sign copyright tag?
During the discussion about Australian shields, you quoted this text:
“ | Any traffic control device design or application provision contained in this Manual shall be considered to be in the public domain. Traffic control devices contained in this Manual shall not be protected by a patent, trademark, or copyright, except for the Interstate Shield and any items owned by FHWA. | ” |
This means that many things are in the public domain, although some other things are not. Do you know if we have a copyright tag for those things which are in the public domain? There are templates for traffic signs from some other countries, for example Commons:Template:PD-Transportstyrelsen for Swedish road signs. --Stefan2 (talk) 09:36, 12 October 2013 (UTC)
@Stefan2: - Thats an American manual only, there are no Australian shields at all in that publication (and even most of the street signs differ). The "roadgeek" font used is an exact or very near copy of the "Highway Gothic" font owned by the FHWA and both are scalable. The FHWA has not publicly released the font itself. The only safe course of action is to assume its copyrighted. -- Nbound (talk) 12:07, 12 October 2013 (UTC)
F3 shield
File:Former Sydney route F3.svg was in use in Pacific Motorway (Sydney–Newcastle) for a long time until you replaced it with File:F3 Freeway.svg a few days ago.[1] F3 Freeway.svg has now been deleted because of an invalid fair-use tag. I tried restoring Former Sydney route F3.svg, but that was deleted from commons on 25 September for some reason, even though it was still in the article. Do you know what's going on? --AussieLegend (✉) 07:20, 13 October 2013 (UTC)
- Its not PD-ineligible - and Non-Free imagery can only be used if it has been previously published. Which was not the case as it was a self-made image. It would be best to replace it with a freely licensed image/photograph, or link via an external media box to the imagery available on OzRoads or similar sites. -- Nbound (talk) 08:17, 13 October 2013 (UTC)
Deletion
Hi Nbound, I batch deleted all the Diagrams of Australian Tourist Drive route markers that you tagged for G7 deletion. The script auto-commented out a bunch of them, so sorry for messing with your userspace pages. Let me know if you need anything else. Mark Arsten (talk) 03:07, 20 October 2013 (UTC)
