Deletion - Lit Fuse Films
[edit]As you may remember, you deleted an article about Lit Fuse Films. I contested this. You said I had no credible sources. I have such sources now.
You said "It doesn't matter how good you think they are -- what matters is whether this company has been recognized as notable by reliable independent sources. So far, there's no evidence of that. NawlinWiki (talk) 04:50, 26 December 2007 (UTC)" I Have such evidence. I can provide links to websites which have awarded litfuse various honors, which includes second and third place honors at the Bitfilm Festival under the machinima category. Both Maintnace Man and Ballad of Black Mesa are creations of LitFuse, and as you can see by visiting the bitfilm award page, these have in fact received awards. [1]. I can also show that on DIGG one of their films has made the front page (Ignis Solus), and many video and machinima oriented sites have found Ignis Solus (one of Lit Fuse's films) to be very popular. I was planning on writing all this in the article when you restored it. Now, would you please restore the article?. If you refuse, I can always just rewrite it (there wasn't all that much there anyway) but that doesn't make sense considering a single line is missing. If you won't restore it, will you at least tell me if my evidence is sufficient, so that I don't write it again only to be deleted? Orangesoda31 (talk) 22:13, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
- It would seem that they took down the awards info on that page, it was last years award after all. I will look for an alternative URL. Orangesoda31 (talk) 23:19, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
- I got one. [2]. This page should be fairly constant. One last note: Zacharia Scott (whom is credited with the award winning films) is a member of Lit Fuse. You can find them on the Lit Fuse website [3] if need be. Thanks. Orangesoda31 (talk) 23:30, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for your time. I think I will stop here and wait for a bit more notoriety to reach them before I start again. You are a really great admin. Orangesoda31 (talk) 00:22, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
Deletion - Terminals (band)
[edit]Just wondering why this article (admittedly a stub) was deleted. I checked the criteria, and, well, it really doesn't meet any of the quick-deletion standards. First of all, The Terminals is not my band. Secondly, they are signed to Dead Beat Records, and two-thirds of the band own and operate Boom Chick Records. The Terminals are at least as big in the garage scene as [Brimstone Howl], and Boom Chick releases Brimstone Howl 7" EPs along with SPEED! Nebraska. I am trying to get the List of bands from Lincoln, Nebraska section updated, and The Terminals are a major part of that scene. Please restore the page. Rawkstah (talk) 16:41, 7 January 2008

The Option Knob
[edit]An editor has asked for a deletion review of The Option Knob. Since you closed the deletion discussion for this article, speedy-deleted it, or were otherwise interested in the article, you might want to participate in the deletion review. Chalhub (talk) 17:20, 8 January 2008 (UTC) Hi Nawlin, I hope you will consider my previous response to your reason for deleting the Option Knob page. I have tried to clarify the misunderstanding that you had in your deletion and that the article is not a blatent advertisement but merely descriptive by a 3rd party. Once again, if you feel that there are elements of the article that leave the descriptive realm then by all means edit them, but I tried to only be as descriptive as the wiki entry Guitar Pick because I felt the Option Knob was a similar entry. Thanks for your understanding.
Brian Bohrer
[edit]Hi, please take a look at Brian Bohrer and let me know if I'm on the right track. I've added a few references from a newspaper. I've also added the ISBN numbers of his books. Deletion - Rising From Ruins
[edit]To NawlinWiki, You deleted the page I made on the band Rising From Ruins. I understand that I didn't have enough information and I think I get what you mean by it didn't have enough significance. I have added alot more information on the band but when I try to put it back on it deletes it again. If you could see the changes I have made and then tell me what I need to do so that it will pass or maybe the band is just not popular enough that would be very helpful. Thank-you NayhanAmor (talk) 04:20, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

I'm not sure if you'll be able to assist me in my query. There is a problem in the revision history of Biodiesel. I undid revision 183328408, [[4]], by User:68.14.36.186; If you examine the next edit, it appears as though I've added something, though in fact, I removed an unhelpful addition. Later in the history, [[5]], it appears that I re-added the same comment, though I did not, as noted in the edit comments. It appears as though a number of the editor's signatures have been transposed. I'm concerned about how this happened more than that it did happen. Any idea why? Do you know of anyone who would know? E8 (talk) 04:48, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
Ok Then
[edit]Ok I understand the Notability Criteria now.
- Can I repost the page when the band meets one of the notability criterias?
- Is there a limit to userpages ex. User:NayhanAmor/Rising_from_ruins?
- Can userpages be speedily deleted?
Thanks again NayhanAmor (talk) 04:52, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

Annie Leonard
[edit]Hi there. I saw you deleted the Annie Leonard article which I created less than 15 minutes ago, even tho I added the HangOn tag. I am a little disturbed that you deleted it despite the HangOn tag, but also you must realize that your reason for deleting (due to lack of material) makes perfect sense in light of the newness of the article. In the future, please do not delete articles which have HangOn on them. Thanks! Bstone (talk) 17:39, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
- Stubs are commonly used in wikipedia. Also, please respect hangon tags in the future. Thank you. Bstone (talk) 17:44, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
- Let me just take a moment to say that I feel the speed in which this article was twice deleted is absolutely unacceptable. I had no sooner created the article and was going to add the hangon tag that it was deleted. Even when I added the tag it was still deleted. I feel as tho I am under some sort of clock or watchful eye to prove this article in as short a period as possible, which of course leads to all sorts of poor editing. As a long time wikipedia editor, I hearby express my frustration.Bstone (talk) 19:20, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

Foxy Shazam
[edit]I've updated the site I made for the band Foxy Shazam. I have been very patient with the process. I have an outside source's biography, two pages created by Foxy Shazam, and an interview from an outside source. I have a much more complete page with many more reliable sources than many other pages that remain up today. I think my page meets all or almost all requirements and if you could just let me put the page up that would be great. The band is growing in popularity and have nationwide tours. Please consider putting it back up. If anyone has any comments on it you can find it here User:Ryanlammi/Foxy Shazam. Thanks. —Preceding comment was added at 03:15, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
I tried to rid the article of any bias and personal views toward the band. If you could please check it over one more time to see if there is anything I missed I would greatly appreciate it. Please tell me if there is anything else I should do or if you put it back up... Thanks —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.189.50.62 (talk) 03:32, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
I have added numerous outside interviews and album reviews from across the country to prove this is not just a local phenomena and they are recognized throughout the United States and other parts of North America. I have so many more links and sources than countless pages and i believe that this is a perfectly valid page with little or no bias. Please take another look. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.189.50.62 (talk) 05:21, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

Hey, NW! I'm looking for the original text of this article. It was inappropriately deleted by Lucky 6.9 under the following terms:
- 17:44, September 22, 2005 Lucky6.9 (Talk | contribs) deleted "University of the State of Pennsylvania" (content was: '{{deletebecause|Nonsense, Pennsylvania is a COMMONWEALTH}}')
The fact remains that the institution existed as a University as designated by the Pennsylvania State Constitution of 1791, and that the term 'Commonwealth' has been used interchangeably in Pennsylvania, including in 4 incarnations of its Constitution.
I'm not certain whether this article title should be redirected to College_of_Philadelphia or what, but since it did exist under this name, I'd like to see the original text, if it is useable. Can you help? Thanks! - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 19:52, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit]For my edification, please explain how at wikipedia a tour in the U.S. establishes notability? Cagey Millipede (talk) 19:53, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the answer. This is interesting. I have a friend who was in a cover band that meets this criteria, but that band does not (and should not) have an article at Wikipedia. Cagey Millipede (talk) 20:01, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
- I do note that the policy you cite has a footnote "The application of this criterion is disputed" and that the article in question did not purport to meet the "as reported in a reliable source" clause. But I understand your rationale. Thanks. Cagey Millipede (talk) 20:04, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

Aquasana Page Being Deleted
[edit]This is a company in my town that has recently been voted one of the only companies in Texas to make the Inc. 500 list of fastest growing privately held companies. It has been written about in many publications, some of which I was still adding, and has recently launched a campaign to reduce bottled water's harmful impact on the environment. I see many other similar copanies with a wikipedia page with far less references than I had or was adding like Brita, Pur and Culligan. Tamara Holder: Urgent!
[edit]I have been attempting to generate an entry for Tamara Holder/Attorney Tamara Holder that has been deleted...again. If you read her bio she is actually an integral component of/creating history in legal justice and the african american community. She works directly alongside Jesse Louis Jackson in related protests and cases, even testifying in Supreme Court. Is it necessary for one of the administrators to generate these entries for her to prevent deletion or flagging? It has been re-written several times for compliance.

I don't understand the full reversion. Both versions leave much wanting but the clean sweep is not allowing the page to grow. Question - isn't "notoriety" a term that can not exist with a NPOV? Also, my edits to the page consisted of rolling back Dickey and inserting citations - is this a breach of the NPOV policy? And if it is, how so?

[edit]RealAfghan112 has shown his true colors, i.e. sockpuppet of Beh-nam, with, for example, his edits on Hazara people at 00:59, 24 January 2008 changing Afghan to Afghanistani, Afghan Canadian at 04:40, 23 January 2008 inserting "Afghani" in the lead thus aping Beh-nam's sockpuppet HouChangMao's edit of 21:33, 18 January 2008, and Afghanistan at 01:57, 22 January 2008 moving the depreciated demonyms back into the Infobox, thus aping Beh-nam's sockpuppet BEIJINGBOY2's edit of 17:29, 19 January 2008. In addition, RealAfghan112's other edits to Hazara people ape those of BEIJINGBOY2. --Bejnar (talk) 01:50, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

We regularly (that is, every few weeks or so) have a user -- 71.114.242.105 -- post a link to his own blog on the Pixar (and at times, various other pixar-related) page. We've posted a note on their talk page that WP:NOT a collection of links, etc... but they seem to be rather persistent. It's not exactly vandalism, and the blog itself is really not notable in any way (it's known in the pixar community for spreading false rumors and plagarizing material from other sites and presenting it as its own -- see any uncited WP reference to Cars 2 that's been added and removed). I don't think a block is in order, as it's more annoying than aggravating as they seem to have a dynamic IP that changes regularly. What's your opinion on how to handle a situation like this? AFCL
[edit]We at the AFCL understand your motivation for deleting our Wikkipedia article, yet we wish to plead for you rsympathy on this matter.
We are a fledgling league in an extremely unknown and unappreciated sport.
We are merely tring to promote our sport, which we believe is famil friendly and great exercise, as well as being fun to play.
At the current time we are unable to provide sources, but that is merely because the is already little coverage on our sport and we must fight to get even the most simple wikipedia article in order to promote our sport.
Thank you for your consideration,
David and the AFCL. —Preceding unsigned comment added by The fantastic number 23 (talk • contribs) 16:26, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

Unblocked SLICKFINGERS
[edit]Hey, I unblocked User:SLICKFINGERS. They seemed genuinely contrite, and seemed to have made some honest mistakes with regard to creating articles. Admitedly, they made them MANY times, despite the warnings, however given their unblock request, they show a genuine understanding of their mistakes, and a willingness to work within the rules for the future. If they continue along the same path, I will reblock them. If you feel this unblock was inappropriate, please feel free to leave a demand for my desysoping at WP:ANI. Thanks... --Jayron32.talk.contribs 19:43, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
I don't do much blocking, so I thought it better to contact you- you blocked this user ages ago, and User:Guddock has just edited the userpage claiming to be their sock. (That's Guddock's only edit so far.) Also, judging from the fact that they moved Trfccurt's userpage to the namespace (under the name The best wikipedia user to ever be banned, and with the summary "that is wat i am/was"), and the similarity of usernames, User:Curttrfc appears to be another sock. Someone has already tagged them as such. I realise this is trivial stuff, I just wondered what the procedure was. J Milburn (talk) 21:48, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
Deleted Reubnick article
[edit]Hi, I remember a few days ago there was an article about a youtuber named Reubnick that got deleted. I was about to remake it, and the page said that it has been deleted twice, because it has no significance. Could you please tell me why it was deleted? Is there any chance of it going back up? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dickdumbass (talk • contribs) 00:42, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

My Page
[edit]I made a page about Grayson Moran, that being myself, but it got deleted cause it seemed to be about someone. How do I prove it's me and make it a page with that title? You said I could write under my grayjax page but then when people search grayson moran it wont go to my page. any ideas? and is there any way to recover my page? thanks, grayjax — Preceding unsigned comment added by Grayjax (talk • contribs) 19:47, 28 January 2008
- If you want to make your own page which is search-engine-visible, consider a social networking site or getting your own webhosting. Wikipedia is not your own tool for self-promotion. haz (talk) 19:17, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
Ok haz, i just thought it was a nice place to be since it's like an encyclopedia, so if someone wants to look up grayson moran they can find me, thats all. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Grayjax (talk • contribs) 19:30, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

Chipotle Days
[edit]Why was "Chipotle Days" deleted? I am a big believer in the "Chipotle Days" concept, and I feel and betrayed by the page's recent removal. Loadmp3
[edit]Thanks for the feedback on this article - forgive me, it's my first, but the reason I wrote it was because it seemed a relevant and worthwhile addition to the list appearing in the last category link in Online music stores , so I thought the limited background info I managed to get from the references, especially from cross-referencing known artist and labels data catalogued in Discogs seemed pretty relevant. Let me know if I'm barking up the wrong tree with this one! Hudson702 —Preceding comment was added at 17:18, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
Witzwil, the swiss labor camp for refugees
[edit]well it is damn hard to get independant sources for a secret labor camp! it is damn hard because no one cares about these refugees there. But it is all completely true!!! I will petition some of the african embassies to clarify that indeed many of their citizens are held at secret locations in switzerland. But ur just not going to find many sources for something kepot hush hush like this...but go ahead man...delete the only article dealing with this issue and cut off the refugees only line of communication to the outside world...go ahead man and be the one that did it!!!!!!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by FreyasCrystalizedAngels (talk • contribs) 20:10, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
OK...here is a linkl to show it really exists, its in german of course [8]
but u know...nobody but the inmates themselves are going to be able to be used as a source, no one besides them knows what its like there!!! the swiss arent going to write about it, and certainly not in english, theyr going to talk about their nice fancy tourist locations! u'll never hear about this man!!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by FreyasCrystalizedAngels (talk • contribs) 20:15, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
and the fact is, they dont even tell their own peopel about it, most of the swiss people have never heard of this place and have no idea what it is like, its not auschwitz type thing i am claiming here, there are not fanciful outlandish claims, its the simple truth i have stated FreyasCrystalizedAngels (talk) 20:20, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
86.128.8.208: possibly premature block
[edit]I notice that you blocked the IP address 86.128.8.208 (talk · contribs) shortly after they were reported to WP:AIV for a "spree of malicious redirects (at least 9 consecutive), continuing after warning". Actually, their last edit was about a minute before their one and only warning [9]. Not that the block is really a big deal (they were doing nothing but vandalism, and the odds are if anyone with good intentions edits from that IP address they won't do it in the next 31 hours). But it seems like "jumping the gun" to me. -- Why Not A Duck 20:59, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Ice Records
[edit]An editor has nominated Ice Records, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ice Records and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 13:44, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
Ambulance Service of Manchester
[edit]I truly believe that the article refering to the Ambulance Service of Manchester (ASM) should remain on Wikipedia. I realize that, in order for Wikipedia to remain a noteworthy website, administrators must moderate its content thoroughly. ASM has numerous achievements and (subjectively) a large civic importance in the Hartford, Connecticut region. Would adding local and state-wide achievements help this entry? Any input you could give me would be appreciated. Thanks! CSMorg (talk) 19:38, 31 January 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by CSMorg (talk • contribs) 17:48, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

I followed other small company profiles on Wikipedia
[edit]Hi, The article I write and keeps getting deleted and I'm on the verge of being banned even though I have tried to change the format and follow the rules while repeatedly getting deleted. It is said that the company I write about is not "notable" nor does it contain any "significance" but I have seen other web based companies who do nothing notable or significant ex.shutterfly on Wikipedia and their articles have not been deleted so whats the problem? Honestly, how many web based companies are notable or significant? But I value your input. Please show me what I am doing different from other companies so that I might have success in posting my article. Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Torrelalexis (talk • contribs) 23:11, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
I am taking your advice and building my case
[edit]Fair enough, I have read your references and understand you point of view regarding the deletion of my article. As it was pointed out in your "What about article x?" article, "Comparisons can be highly subjective, and so it is better to look at the debates in question and see what policies were cited and make an argument based on how they apply to the current debate." After reading both, Wikipedia:Notability and Wikipedia:Reliable sources articles I realize that I have enough to make a strong enough case to have the Izzyprints article restored. Unfortunately after only 2 attempts to edit an article I got this warning from another administrator "This is the only warning you will receive for your disruptive edits. The next time you create an inappropriate page, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. RT | Talk 22:51, 31 January 2008 (UTC)" The first and only warning I got before that was "Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines". I'd like to try to edit an article again and not get banned. What can be done about this? Also, how else can I prove to you that Izzyprints is a company that is "significant" to more than one million customers world wide? Any help would be appreciated.
