Sammy's Gentleman's Club
[edit]Please put the Sammy's Gentlemen's Club page back up...It serves as a tribute to my family. I will remove the Website URL..agree? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ferrarifr34k (talk • contribs)
This is Discrimination
[edit]I simply wrote alittle about how my family made it from nothing. Sammy's Gentlemen's Clubs is a VERY proseperous and very well respected business and I'll be damned if I am going to let somebody tarnish my family name with nonsense of spam and advertising. This is absolute blasphemy. Because you allow Club La Vela on here. It is discriminative not put mine up there, and I demand it be reinstated immediately. Or else a suit will be brought against you as a person, and wikipedia as a company.
The above poster, User:Ferrarifr34k, has been blocked for the above legal threat. NawlinWiki 20:17, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
Please do not delete my folktale on the Troll page. This addition is a valid tale from my country of Sweden and I wish to share it with the wikipedia users. I cannot cite this story because it is just that; a story that has been carried down many generations and is told at night to scare little children. In the future I would appreciate it if you do not go around thinking you know everything about this topic and you let an addition be made.
Religion Dispute
[edit]I have put this article on Wiki many times, I do not have citations but I have added ity hoping sdome of the Australian users will cite it for me. I read aboput this in a book in my school library named "Religions of the World" please research this for me and cite it. I have what I have written so far below. Ariesmillenian 17:36, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
Millenianism is a religion commonly considered a cult. Millenianism originally founded in Australia by an unknown person, bringing beliefs from several other religions. For example, they believe in Jehovah (god of light) and Satan (god of darknesss. Millenians believe that no religion is more true than another, and that the truths of the religion are all that show.
There are three "sects" of Millenianism. The "normal" Millenians, the Oni-Millenians (or Dark Millenians), and the Aries-Millenian. The "normal" Millenian worship both Jehovah and Satan, believing that the two balance eachother out leading to a state of spirtual neutrality. The Oni-Millenian, rivaling the Millenian "church", worship Satan and believe that he is more powerful than Jehovah and that power is above everything in the world. The Aries-Millenian worship Jehovah, taking many influences from the Christian and Arîes religions.
Millenianism are commonly mistaken with Millenialism, but is more commonly described as a Unitarian Universalist religion. There has been extreme controversy over the numbert of Millenians there are in the world, the claim is 1.5 million, however "orthodox" Millenians come in an ammount of only just 550,000.
Upon Millenian disputes would be if the three "sects" are actually parts of the same religion. For example, Normal Millenian are considered more Unitarian Universalist than Christian, and Oni-Millenians more Satanist than Millenian.
Please Give me my Page Back
[edit]There is nothing on Wikipedia about the philosophy of BE. It's holistic health method. Deepak Chopra and Wayne Dyer write about it all the time, yet Wiki has nothing on it. WP e-Commerce Article
[edit]I have added more external / secondary sources so this article meets notability standards. This article is no different from similar OS commerce or zencart articles - removal would be wrong in so many ways :)
Not Fair Man
[edit]If you MUST know, even if you shouldn't, Ben Jones IS in fact a drug trafficker and IS in fact not an attack on anyone. I am simply stating fact. If you find that article offensive, then you really have to wake up to yourself. Drugs are everywhere, ESPECIALLY in New Orleans and people have to supply them do they not? Why is it an article gets deleted when I am only enlightening the masses about a little known Drug Lord?
Ridiculous
[edit]So, Kyle Smith (the author) can ramble on about himself for pages and pages. But any other Kyle Smith has to go through New Orleans? That's nice. Way to keep everything fair. I'm pretty sure that the author's series was cancelled after a short period. But, he's notable.
I am adding sources
[edit]But everything needs time and therefore speed deletion is good for nothing. Just wait some more time
Well done, you have deleted precious information
[edit]Next time before deleting something do some research first!!! If you don't know the famous "Socialism is good" song, then you shouldn't consider yourself a chinese expert. If you aren't a chinese expert, you shouldn't take part in editing articles which are related to China. RedStar1987 - 9 May 2007

Anthony Deemer Entry Wrongfully Deleted
[edit]Hi, you recently deleted an entry that I worked hard to make objective and factual. This entry was not an attempt to sell anything as you imply in your deletion comments. I am a fan of Tony and enjoy hearing him on the radio, and believe in what he has to say. Here's the article you deleted:
"Anthony Deemer" (g11 advert content was: Anthony "Tony" Deemer is an entrepreneur, investor, and author of the upcoming book "Solving the Wealth Puzzle".<ref>Wealth Puzzle ...')
Please republish my work, or tell me what it is I can do so that this article will stand. I don't think it's fair that you can surreptitiously delete a legitimate biography of an author and public speaker just because he has a book. Sorry, not fair. You wouldn't agree that I should go through wikipedia and just start deleting bios of everyone who has a book, movie, or does speaking?
Hi, just letting you know that these two articles were just recreated. Since you deleted them under CSD, I'm not sure that they can be deleted as reposted material, but I thought I'd let you know about it. FrozenPurpleCube 17:56, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
Question on copyright issue for Sterling Johnson Jr.
[edit]I noticed that you declined the speedy on this article (and thanks for rewriting it, it's much better now!), but I just wanted to make sure my understanding of the copyright issue was correct. I marked it as a copyvio because of the notices at the bottom of the page it was copied from, i.e.: "Copyright © 1997-2005 U.S. District Court - Eastern New York Last Updated: March 11, 2005 All rights reserved."
Is there something I missed there? Thanks for any clarification you can provide - if it was a mistaken copyvio tag, I want to avoid making that mistake again. JavaTenor 18:10, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
Hi, you closed this afd with a result of no consensus. While no consenus was reached on the original issue for which I had created the afd, I percieved that there was a consensus that the subject did not satisfy notability standards. I was wondering if you could explain to me how you interpreted this debate as no-consensus. Thanks. -- Diletante 19:19, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

Why Delete Jonathan Goff
[edit]Do you mean to tell me I spent a half hour creating that article on Jonathan Goff and you just delete it, he is a college football player who is expected to be a high draft pick in the 2008 NFL Draft and has been a star player for Vanderbilt--Yankees10 00:05, 2 May 2007 (UTC)Yankees10

Wayne Herschel
[edit]The "Wayne Herschel" entry was deleted a few days ago on the grounds that Herschel is a self-published author of pseudoscience. I certainly have no quarrel with the assessment (it agrees fully with my own), but I'm not convinced that deleting the entry, which amounts to censorship, is the correct action to take. I think people should be able to read about such dodgy nonsense and its originators as long as the factual standards are maintained. Summary deletion only encourages a persecution complex (à la Galileo) in these individuals, whereas exposing them is, I submit, ultimately more profitable — it only requires keeping tabs on the entry. After all, the Wiki does carry articles on Zecharia Sitchin, Erich von Däniken, and such. Herschel is just as unscientific, though less well known.
Con-Tester 11:38, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
Hi, this entry has obviously been copy pasted from the source of an other article in Wikipedia. I am having trouble finding which (there is no corresponding entry in the deletion log). I see you recently deleted Goorambat Football Club so, as a long shot, I was wondering if you had a clue. Cheers! -- lucasbfr talk 13:23, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
1000mods and Blank Reality
[edit]Quoting wikipedia's:notabiliy (music) article
5. Is frequently covered in publications devoted to a notable sub-culture.
1000mods is a somewhat famous band in Greece's stoner rock scene, recently reviewed even in the British Metal Hammer (the review can be found at their myspace blog www.myspace.com/1000mods ). I list some of the reviews on the Blank Reality EP:
http://www.monolith.gr/reviews/html/1000mods01.html
http://rockstormfm.blogspot.com/2007/01/1000mods-blank-reality-ep.html
http://www.rocking.gr/review1123.php
http://www.desert-rock.com/autoprods/articlesreader.php?mode=view_entry&entry=1000Mods-Blankreality_E.P..txt (french magazine)
http://www.generated-x.de/ (German zine, currently out of order, e-mail them to verify they featured a Blank Reality review)
Also they have supported greek stoner rock superstars Nightstalker and Planet Of Zeus.
I believe the reason for the deletion of the article is that it looks promotional. Well, it's not. This biographical note does not imply that it's an exceptional band or that people should buy their EP. The reason i wrote this entry is that if a person sees a 1000mods live advertising poster on the street he should be able to find something while googling the name. Which, if i'm not mistaken, is the reason that wikipedia exists. So in my humble opinion you should reconsider the deletion of the article(s). If you agree with the cause of the article but find that some of its points may seem advertising, notify me to re-write the bio.
Thanks in advance

Wow! You speedily deleted the reference for Create:Fixate, one of the only art organizations in Los Angeles that bring struggling artists and emerging artists to light. You deleted this reference, but I see that the Wikipedia has references to other art associations in the LA area: The Los Angeles Art Association (LAAA) for one. Create:Fixate is only 5 years old, but our outreach programs help underpriveleged kids, we run a gallery, we have launched the careers of many prominent artists in LA, and are on par with the LAAA. I followed your guidelines closely and also followed the style of the LAAA entry as well. What gives?

Reverting chnages on WOBM page
[edit]Hi, I did two changes a month or more ago, and you reverted only one, which is incoherent:
- I copied radio WOBM page to Radio WOBM page - I replaced WOBM page by a Disambiguation page
The motivation for those changes was not obviously right... since I did it to create an article about a team called WOBM in an internet game.
But anyway, the result is that it exists now the original radio WOBM page and a ghost Radio WOBM... which makes me think that you reverted my changes a bit too quickly.
I let you solve that.

Just noticed a speedy deletion
[edit]In late February you deleted an English language article on Billie the Vision and the Dancers, a Swedish indie-pop band that is very popular within certain groups of people, mainly indie-Swedes. I'm not really sure why you deleted it, but I suppose you have the power to. I really don't want to re-create the article, but it would've been easier for you to say something like "hey, why don't you edit this and illustrate why the band is "notable" before I delete it."
As for notability, the band has gone on international tours in Scandinavia (they also have a page in sv.wikipedia) which is a qualification. The band also has a social interest in that their lead singer is a cross-dresser and they are one of a growing number of bands that release their music for free as a way to navigate the new market forces of piracy in music. I know they're not the biggest band, but I find it interesting and love their music, as I'm sure other people would have.
Changes on the main page, etc.
[edit]Did something strange happen across the whole site within the last 15 minutes? All the live links in an article I was editing suddenly went red, and when I flipped over to the main page, most of the links there were red. I asked another editor, and he had noticed it as well, but had no idea what happened. Do you have any idea? ---Charles 15:49, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
- Ok, I will just have to remain puzzled... Thanks for the response. ---Charles 15:52, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

AskAceata
[edit]I still don't understand why the article was deleted. My friend told me about it and it helped with research for a project, so I thought it might be useful for others to know about. It is really similar to Yahoo Answers, which I still use. There are many articles on websites, and I just wanted it to be in Wikipedia. I mean, I found so many things on wikipedia I didn't know about, so it's fun to let people discover. ~BoboBonnie~ PS: Did you even visit the website?~BoboBonnie~
Does this mean that a lot of other websites have to talk about it? My friend found it through hours of searching and I know notability isn't popularity, but AskAecata isn't very popular. Thats why there aren't many other sources?~BoboBonnie~ Thanks for the info. ((But once it's popular, I'm guessing that someone will already have written an article.))~BoboBonnie~

[edit]Hey its ajarrison. So you mean to tell me that unless you are a "reliable source" you cant create a page? By the by my dog's name is Lambeau(give me a break it was my first article) User:Ajarrison
NawlinWiki, I brought this to you because I know you're pretty good a digging through stuff like this. The band Hollywood undead, which appears to be a bit of a MySpace phenomenon, has apparently had a number of attempts at article creation. I speedy-tagged the last attempt (not knowing that it had been deleted several times before over a period of weeks), and another admin salted it. The most recent author sent me a message asking me to check out a discussion she had posted on the article's talk page. I think she's a newbie because she couldn't even tell it had been salted plus she posted the message to me on my user page, and she didn't know about how to sign messages. Anyway, she provided several different links that appear to give the band some fairly legit assertions of notability, though it's still debatable. As far as I can tall, the article never went through AfD, though my research on this wasn't terribly thorough. Could you take a look at this to see if it merits un-salting and at least an AfD process, if not resurrection? I have no dog in this fight, so handle it as you see fit. By the way, the original author of the last version was User talk:Ucla2002. Thanks! Realkyhick 02:23, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

Virginia Tech Myspace name redirects revisited
[edit]Okay, during another dispute, I looked through the criteria for redirect deletion, which can be seen here: Wikipedia:Redirects_for_discussion#When_should_we_delete_a_redirect.3F
Then I looked at criteria for speedy deletion, which was seen here: Wikipedia:Criteria_for_speedy_deletion#Redirects
See, this one only gives three criteria: "# Redirects to nonexistent pages.
- Redirects to the Talk:, User: or User talk: namespace from the article space (this does not include the Wikipedia shortcut pseudo-namespaces). If this was the result of a page move, consider waiting a day or two before deleting the redirect.
- Redirects as a result of an implausible typo that were recently created. However, redirects from common misspellings or misnomers are generally useful, as are redirects in other languages."
What I will do is I will re-establish Myspace linkings. If you believe that the redirects are not proper, start an entry at "Redirects for discussion" and wait for a consensus to delete :)
Also, redirects seem to have different standards than actual articles, as the reasons for deleting redirects seem to be different.
EDIT: The person who tagged the entry as a speedy used "implausible typo" - I do not find it implausible, nor a typo since the person used it in a Myspace entry. His Myspace name does not need to be mentioned in the article, but it should redirect to prevent article creation at that name.

The Dance of Joy
[edit]While I accept that this may have been an article to consider for deletion, I think you gave the wrong reasons. It's not web content, it's a genuine, real-life dance that was created recently and has since built up a reasonable, if still not large following. The website linked to was merely a way to demonstrate said dance. Surely that's a reasonable link to put on the page? Just because something has web content concerning it, that doesn't make it web content itself, does it?
Also, the article was created less than 2 hours before you deleted it. Did you realize this? I was under the impression that speedy deletion of new articles was not in Wikipedia's policy?

DOH! You deleted Bejebus!
[edit]Some of us don't have speedy connections! I was only saving it because I had to dial up again.... man you guys are fast to delete stuff. That took ages to write. GRR! I guess you're just doing your job but cut a little slack next time yea? You should at least give a day before it’s taken off.
Addition after reading procedures you directed me to
I found the following information to back up my points
Note that some Wikipedians create articles in multiple saves, so try to avoid deleting a page too soon after its initial creation.
Although I agree the article was short at the time of deletion the time stamp on my computer says that the page was created at 20:53 and you messaged me to say you had deleted it at 21:05. That’s hardly time for me to complete the next update.
Don't delete if you simply don't understand the assertion of importance or significance; delete only if you know that there is none
I've already stated that the page at that current stage was incomplete and if left like that would have been suitable for deletion but you deleted it without giving me any chance. I fail to see how an admin from the USA could possibly discover enough information in 13 mins to decide that the article was not notable enough. The charity was set up to commemorate a girl who died in the UK and now helps many people in East Anglia who are suffering a similar fate.
I would have been happy to discuss this with you and I feel that given time i would have been able to demonstrate why the page was justified. I don't want to get into a long discussion over this because you're an admin and you'll prob get me blocked or something but I think you guys should realise you have a lot of power and that you need to use it wisely with careful consideration of others.
Thank you for your time.
Please return the speed the light article

Howdy! I stumbled across a page you deleted, Moar. The user who tagged it for speedy deletion had blanked the content and replaced it with a tag, did you have a chance to check the pre-blanking content before zapping it? While tagged as being speediable under the SU cleanup effort, the pre-blanked content appears to be legit. I've asked the user who tagged it for more info, and am following up with you as well. Thanks! - CHAIRBOY (☎) 02:40, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
- Never mind, it looks like the tagger had a method to his madness, and I just needed some education. All is well, carry on. :D - CHAIRBOY (☎) 17:37, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
Please return the speed the light article 2

Boeing B-29 Superfortress Survivors
[edit]Just to let you know that User:Davegnz has recreated the deleted Boeing B-29 Survivors page at Boeing B-29 Superfortress Survivors. Thanks. - BillCJ 17:32, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
- Ah, gotcha. It's looks like he made a cut-and-past move. - BillCJ 17:37, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
- My note to Dave ... Dave, Now since you've recreated the Survivors article with references, you have not restored the backqround or history on the 10 B-29's that was in the original Survivors section. Piotr and I are in the midst of doing updates to the variants, operators, and survivors sections. It is a little discerning that you delete an entire section without merging is history information into the new article, for the second time. I would think you would capture the 10 a/c info and do this merge. Please complete this task OR return the 10 a/c histories back into the main article, asap, and thank you. You've been irratating my last 3 hours of Wiki work. LanceBarber 18:01, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
Nawlin, I hope you can see my aggravation here. Bill, Piotr, and I (and others) are getting a heckuva lot of work done on dozen of articles and do not need this stress. I s'pose I could formal nominate the recreated Survivors article for formal deletion and voting process; but this would put extra work on everyone, which I do not particularly want to do. WHAT do you recommend here? Thank you for your support and admin-work. With best regards, LanceBarber 18:01, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
- News flash-- Chris has done what I was contemplating doing.... ouch! LanceBarber 18:16, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
Please return the speed the light article 3
[edit]One reason you used for 'speedily deleting article speed the light' was that it, according to point 11 of guidlines for speedy deletion, qualifies as
"Blatant advertising Pages which exclusively promote a company, product, group, service, or person and which would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Note that simply having a company, product, group, service, or person as its subject does not qualify an article for this criterion; an article that is blatant advertising should have inappropriate content as well. If a page has previously gone through a deletion process and was not deleted, it should not be speedily deleted under this criterion."
(See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Criteria_for_speedy_deletion#G11)
You should know the guidlines before backing your arguments:
1) It clearly states that simply having a group as an articles subject does not qualify an article for blatant advertising
2) It also states that an article qualifying as blatant advertising should also have inappropriate content as well
Thats all for now, i'm also working on disproving your claims that it is not notable. Furthermore i would argue that it certainly was writtent in a neutral tone and would like for you to prove otherwise. It would help if you would email me a copy of the article as it was before it was deleted. However i'm trying to get it from the archives. I think it would be both more fair and simpler to restore the article and nominate it for deletion.

Protected titles
[edit]Hi, I see you're online right now and that you used Wikipedia:Protected titles/May 2007/List before, so I'll ask you directly: I tried to protect LewisTjustice from recreation, adding it to the list. But it seems it is still unprotected. Do you have any idea of what I did wrong by any chance? Thanks for the help ;) -- lucasbfr talk 20:18, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
- Woops, seems it just takes some time to enter into effect :) Thanks for the help! -- lucasbfr talk 20:21, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

I removed the prod tags from Bruv. I personally feel it's better off getting transwiki'ed to wiktionary, unless it also fails the requirements for there (I don't do work on there, so I wouldn't know).--Whstchy 21:04, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
Turtle fuel
[edit]Al Gore would be ashamed. Turtle Fuel is a serious issue that could help us in our ongoing fight against Global Warming. Turtle fuel is a way more green(no pun intended) and efficient source of energy than fossil fuels. I'll admit the article i made today was nonsense, but the one from yesterday was serious and reliable. Please revive it.
By the way, less CO2 means no more Katrinas. Think about that
- Uhm, I outlined the importance of the first turtle fuel article. Please reload that one. The last one was just a joke. The first one is serious :( — Preceding unsigned comment added by Turtlefuel (talk • contribs)
Why
[edit]Why can't i simply add an addition when many other articles are not cited if you impose this rule on me, why not on all others?
And i am not trying to vandalize this page but simply trying to add to the knowledge available to the general public.
Question
[edit]If i can find an appropriate citation will you allow me to publish this on the page? In response to your accusation of me knowing someone named "Anne" that is completely ridiculous and absurd.
As you were the speedy deleter your input would be useful at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Farsipraise. –– Lid(Talk) 02:32, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

Conitued Harassment/E-Stalking by Another User
[edit]I need assistance with User Mel Etitis...I am not sure if the said user is an admin or not but there is constant editing on my usertalk page and messages from this user that are innappropriate, threatening, and unwelcome. I have left a message there now, asking to be contacted in a more appropriate manner...I have left an email where I can be reached instead of constant spamming on my usertalk page. I would greatly appreciate some help in this matter. Thank You.

yourspins.com deletion
[edit]You deleted an entry about us. How come our competition http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U-MYX are allowed an entry and we're not? All we want is something about them which isn't, in my view, just a plug for their business?
You around for a bit? I'm about to go offline, so will you keep an eye on this user please? He's been creating nonsense / possible attack pages which I've been deleting. Since final warning, all he's done is drop me a miffed message on my talk page. I'd have indef blocked for the implication of future vandalism, but as it was on my talk page, I thought probity demanded another chance! lol. Anyway, if he steps out of line, please do act. Thanks. --Dweller 16:07, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Wikipedia:redirect#What do we use redirects for?
[edit]The reason I added {{db-reason|Wikipedia:redirect#What do we use redirects for?}} to Frankish empire, is because Other capitalisations... states:
- (Articles, including redirects, whose titles are either all initial caps or only first word capitalised are found via "Go" using a case-insensitive match.)
- Note: Related redirects are needed only if the article title has two or more words and words following the first have different capitalisations. They are not needed, for example, for proper names which are all initial caps.
Please see examples.
