Arizona college
[edit]You speedily deleted Arizona college per WP:CSD#A7. I thought schools were specifically exempt from this criterion. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 16:42, 1 October 2015 (UTC)

Brotherly Love Show 2015
[edit]I quoted credible sources that proved this show and it's importance. I do not understand why it was deleted. It was accurate and informs others about this sitcom show. There is proof of the show on the websites and IMDb page for it, that I quoted. I would like to recreate the page once we have come to a conclusion on how it should be done properly. Please inform me on what mistake I am making in the information about the show.
- Nope, you keep trying to post an article about a Youtube series that you made up, and citing sources that you yourself published. Please look at WP:WEB and WP:V. NawlinWiki (talk) 13:28, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
Dal Dhaliwal 2015
[edit]I'm trying to create a profile page for a TV Personality in the UK but you have used speedy deletion because it was Umbiguous, Advertising and Promotion. I'm not sure what needs to be changed or re-written for it to not seem that way. Was it the external links? I had references to about 6 different external sources. Should I have put the external links there? — Preceding unsigned comment added by RockinWebsites (talk • contribs) 18:27, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
- The whole thing is written in a promotional, laudatory tone: "she actively creates awareness"... "She has broken down cultural barriers to establish herself as a leading female fitness entrepreneur"... "dedicated in helping busy women feel good"... "Dhaliwal possesses a great passion and knowledge". See WP:NPOV and WP:SPAM. NawlinWiki (talk) 18:30, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
I think I understand. Is it possible for me to just edit the page or do I have to start all over and recreate the page using the same name. RockinWebsites (talk) 18:42, 2 October 2015 (UTC)

[edit]I think you should revoke User:Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat's talk page access, as he blanked his talk page after being blocked. ElectricBurst(Electron firings)(Zaps) 23:23, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
- Policy permits the user to blank the Talk page. You shouldn't have reverted. Of course, your reverts provoked the user to saying nasty things, but I've restored it to a blank page as he first did. If he resumes saying nasty things, then we can revoke Talk page access.--Bbb23 (talk) 23:47, 2 October 2015 (UTC)

Page deletion
[edit]You left a message for me after deleting the article Skyport Systems. This page is more than notable according to policy. I read each and every rule associated with creating the content and now do not understand how you have the sole discretion to decide whether it should be deleted. Please undelete this page as it more than meets policy and is written according to every policy that I read. --Hipidab (talk) 05:06, 3 October 2015 (UTC)
- The article didn't show how this company is notable per our guidelines at WP:CORP. The cited sources basically just said "this company exists, it has employees, and it has raised money." NawlinWiki (talk) 11:31, 3 October 2015 (UTC)
Solopreneur
[edit]You deleted the page Solopreneur. I understand why you deleted it, as you thought it was an ad. But I am not Tim Ferriss, Amanda Palmer or Martin Atkins...nor am I a Solopreneur, for that matter. I am just interested in the phenomenon. I am also interested in internet security, art, religion, history, business and many other things. Please revert the Solopreneur page back.
- The only references in the article were to a podcast and a Facebook group called "Solopreneur". Neither of those would establish that this term is notable rather than being a neologism. NawlinWiki (talk) 15:46, 6 October 2015 (UTC)
Clearvision
[edit]After seeing companies in the same industry with Wikipedia entries (Atlassian, Adaptavist), I created a page for the company Clearvision. I took care in ensuring the information in the article was entirely informational and written impartially; it can all be verified through the sources I cited, so I'm unclear as to why it was deleted for advertising as there are numerous other companies similar to us with entries. I would be happy to rewrite/remove any particular section that may have come across as less than impartial, in which case is there a way I can access the deleted material to adapt?
Clearvision (talk) 16:17, 5 October 2015 (UTC)
- It's very difficult not to be promotional about your own company, see WP:COI, and this article is no exception. It begins "Clearvision is an award winning software development company", and goes on to use language like "began to champion" and "incredible experience". NawlinWiki (talk) 16:29, 5 October 2015 (UTC)
- I understand this, particularly the award winning section. I would like to point out that "began to champion" in that context means that the company began to work with open source tools, which I would be happy to reword. Additionally, "incredible experience" was a direct quote from our partner's website on their reasoning behind creating a general partnership program - included in quotation marks and referenced. If I could access the original article I can remove that quote if it is a problem. Chelsey at Clearvision (talk) 16:39, 5 October 2015 (UTC)
- I've moved the deleted article to your userspace at User:Chelsey at Clearvision/Clearvision. You're going to need to remove any adjectives that sound laudatory, whether or not they're in a customer's website or a direct quote. Even after that, you're going to need to cite reliable independent sources to show that this company is notable per WP:CORP. The awards you've cited (from a business partner and from a local business newspaper) don't make the company notable in my opinion. NawlinWiki (talk) 16:43, 5 October 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for the advice, I'll rework it with that in mind. Chelsey at Clearvision (talk) 17:51, 5 October 2015 (UTC)
Hi. Could you userfy this article you speedied? I'm not sure what about it was taken to be "unambiguous advertising" since I created it quite a while ago merely because of the significance of the building's architecture. I really don't recall what was in it and I'd like to take a look to see if it's redeemable or not. I'll mark it for deletion if I don't think it can be fixed. Thanks in advance. BMK (talk) 19:14, 5 October 2015 (UTC)
- According to the history, you created a redirect to Maritime Hotel, which is still up. A recent user changed the redirect to an article which was nothing but ad copy. Sample: "The hotel represents an expert pairing of chic-cool influences with modern elegance". Trust me, there's nothing worth saving in what I deleted - probably better to just start over. NawlinWiki (talk) 15:26, 6 October 2015 (UTC)
- OK, that clears it up, thanks for the explanation. (By any chance is the editor Blueberry Hill?) BMK (talk) 15:37, 6 October 2015 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Ourehouare
[edit]You speedily deleted Ou reau ha re. Follows is the Canadian Biography - official government of Canada cite:OUREHOUARE (Orehaoue, Horehouasse), Iroquois war-chief, galley-slave, confidant, and ambassador of Buade de Frontenac; b. c. 1650; d. 1698.
Ourehouare was a chief of the Cayuga villages which had been established on the Bay of Quinte before the founding of Fort Frontenac (Cataracoui) in 1673. In 1687 the governor, Brisay* de Denonville, invaded the Iroquois homeland and won a partial victory which prevented the Iroquois, backed by the English, from wresting the western fur trade from French control.
Bochart* de Champigny, the intendant, went in advance of the main force, 17 June 1687, to Fort Cataracoui, where he seized a group of Cayuga hunters encamped near the fort. Another group he lured into the fort, on pretext of a feast, but imprisoned them instead. En route to the country of the Senecas, Jean Peré, another member of the expedition, captured Ourehouare and several other Indians near Montreal and these prisoners were added to the others in the fort. The tribesmen, numbering 51 braves, were stripped, and tied to stakes in the compound of the fort, where they underwent torture at the hands of the French and their Indian allies. On the return of the invading French army, the captives were transported down the St. Lawrence River to Quebec, leaving behind them 150 helpless women and children. In accordance with the French king’s request, Ourehouare and his fellow captives were subsequently shipped to France where they were forced to serve in the king’s galleys.
This treacherous behaviour on the part of the French unleashed savage warfare throughout the length of the St. Lawrence River for more than a decade. Raiding parties of Iroquois carried tomahawk, scalping knife, and torch to isolated communities and threatened the destruction of the French colony.
Alarmed at the deterioration of affairs in New France, Louis XIV in 1689 decided to return the Indian captives, and to replace Governor de Denonville with Count Frontenac. When the latter sailed for Quebec, he was accompanied by Ourehouare and 13 Cayuga braves, all that had survived two years of slavery in the king’s galleys during France’s wars against the Mediterranean pirates. On the long voyage Frontenac exerted himself to the utmost to gain the confidence and friendship of Ourehouare, inviting the chief to dine with him and showering him with gifts. In Quebec, Ourehouare was given a suite in the Château Saint-Louis, and was admitted to the governor’s inner circle. As a result, he became a firm friend of Frontenac. He acted as the governor’s ambassador in several attempts at reconciliation with the Iroquois and participated in retaliatory attacks on enemy posts. Ourehouare never returned to his homeland. He died of pleurisy in Quebec in 1698, before peace could be attained, and was buried there with full military honours. __________________________________________ It seems you are more interested in stopping expansion than honouring native Americans. No one starts with a full article. It starts small and we work on it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hotspur (talk • contribs) 22:27, 5 October 2015 (UTC)
- Hey, looks like you now have a reliable source! This even though several other editors looked and couldn't find one. So please feel free to repost an article. Per the source, it looks like it should be under the title Ourehouare rather than what you had posted before, Ou reau ha re (maybe the spelling difference is *why* nobody could find a source). NawlinWiki (talk) 15:24, 6 October 2015 (UTC)
A different spelling of the translation of the Oklahoma Indian language would cause people to insult me, question my credibility and refuse a legitimate article on a person in history neglected because he is native. [edit]Hi, I wanted to create a page for Field Yates, and I noticed that you were the last to delete it, and now it's administrator locked. I'm a fan of some of his work (mostly his podcast). Field is a writer, television host, and podcaster working for ESPN http://espnmediazone.com/us/bios/field-yates/. Horizon curvature
[edit]Wow, this was fast. I've been thoroughly searching the Internet for an answer to that question, and still didn't come up with an answer so I provided my own. Personal or not, a mathematical derivation is what it is, and this one is basic enough so that other users can review it. That's why I posted it in the talk page and not directly in the main article. Now it would not be any different if I had copied it from some source or read it in a textbook, so I really don't see the point of telling me this. NoahhaoN (talk) 19:33, 13 October 2015 (UTC)
- For the purposes of an encyclopedia, it *is* very different if you got the formula from a source or textbook, because those are verifiable, reliable sources, see WP:RS and WP:V. An encyclopedia is a tertiary reference work, whose editors don't make their own judgments about whether something has been adequately proved. We rely on third-party sources instead. That's why we can't accept original work, no matter how ingenious. NawlinWiki (talk) 19:34, 13 October 2015 (UTC)
Thx for the answer. I sincerely thought that what I wrote *is* largely verifiable as it only requires basic math skills and isn't particularly "ingenious", apologies if I'm wrong. NoahhaoN (talk) 19:38, 13 October 2015 (UTC)
Oh, so you deleted like two hours worth of work. Didn't see it. Ok, so please tell me how you can contribute if you can't even write something down like "2+2=4" without quoting your sources, whereas users can freely write " The Horizon curves by: sqrt(radius^2 + distance^2)-radius, equivalent to distance^2/R*2. At 100 km, it descends 784m." which in the contexts means nothing, without being edited. Not to mention, I would have understood this deletion of yours if I had directly posted it in the article, but this was in the talk page. And lastly, the formula which is given in the article is unverifiable in your sense, so why not delete it as well ? At least I tried to give an explanation of it. But I guess as an administrator you know better than me what makes for a reliable encyclopedy. NoahhaoN (talk) 19:44, 13 October 2015 (UTC)

NickolausPacione
[edit]NickolausPacione's first attack today was with an IP account 73.8.34.95 deleting the content of the Kealan Patrick Burke article. That was reverted by ClueBot NG. Pacione then created the Unclefossil720 account and went back to the Burke and the Creative nonfiction articles. In June he edited the Burke article from that IP number also.
I do believe, however, that my own IP number is dynamically allocated if I reboot/reset my modem. So perhaps a block on the IP number might harm an innocent in the future. This is a detail I am not sure about. -- Naaman Brown (talk) 23:39, 14 October 2015 (UTC)
Centigrade
[edit]Hi, we have at least three articles related to different meanings of the term centigrade (and searching the web there are several more potential meanings) making navigation via hatnotes undesirable. Therefore, I would like to change the centigrade redirect into a disambiguation page to make navigation easier and allow future expansion. I see that you indefinitely locked the redirect back in 2008 without any apparent edit warring etc. going on. In my opinion, it is unlikely that the page would become a target of disruptive editing in the future (at least not any more than any page potentially can), therefore could you please unlock the page again? Thanks. --Matthiaspaul (talk) 20:15, 17 October 2015 (UTC)
