Evangelical theology
[edit]Your recent editing history at Evangelical theology shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

SIL International
[edit]Thanks for your recent edits on SIL International, which are mostly helpful. But in one edit you stated that SIL is a member of the Wycliffe Global Alliance, which is not correct. The source you quoted in that matter states that "SIL also partners with other faith-based organizations that are committed to the social and justice needs of minority peoples. SIL is a member of the Micah Network and the Forum of Bible Agencies International. Primary partners for funding and volunteer staff are organizations affiliated with Wycliffe Global Alliance." So this means that although WGA and its affiliates are important partners, SIL is in fact not a member of that alliance. Since I am a member of SIL myself, I should not make that correction to the article; therefore I kindly request that, if after checking you confirm my assertion, you take out the claim that SIL is a member of the WGA. Billy Graham
[edit]And you're edit warring at Billy Graham. Seriously? Walter Görlitz (talk) 06:34, 20 August 2021 (UTC)
- Hello Walter Görlitz (talk · contribs). Thank you for the comments. I think there is certainly a misunderstanding. For the field of study, the word evangelical is not there, but the College website mentions https://www.trinitycollege.edu/admissions/about-trinity/ : « We are distinctly evangelical » and the College article mentions evangelical in the intro. So I moved the word evangelical next to the word College. The wtsp.com article mentions well 2 times « In 1940 Graham graduated from the Florida Bible Institute ». It is possible to do a search for the word "graduated" in the article and also a search on google. Several google books and these 3 other references confirm: https://billygraham.org/about/biographies/billy-graham/ https://billygrahamlibrary.org/commencement-program-from-florida-bible-institute/ and https://www.tampabay.com/news/obituaries/Billy-Graham-found-his-calling-as-a-Bible-college-student-in-Tampa_165698073/ I have added the reference of Bill Adler's book (p. VIII), which confirms his bachelor of theology in 1940. I know the seriousness of your work Walter. So I know that is not a bad intention on your part. I have great respect for your quality contributions. Thanks for your help. --Nathan B2 (talk) 16:12, 25 August 2021 (UTC)
Evangelical theology and believer's Church
[edit]User:Nathan B2, are you aware that the largest denomination of the holiness movement, the Church of the Nazarene (as with the Free Methodist Church), normatively practices infant baptism? If that is the case, how do they fit in with the so-called definition of the Believers' Church. Note that these denominations all belong to the World Methodist Council. Kind regards, AnupamTalk 15:47, 26 August 2021 (UTC)
- Hello Anupam (talk · contribs). Thank you for the comments. Yes, I knew some denominations in the movement did not have the Believer's Church doctrine. However, you raise important information. One of the main holiness denominations that adheres to the believer's Church doctrine is the Alliance World Fellowship, but in reality, were also influenced by the Higher Life movement, without being in one of the two movements. Thus, I corrected the information with 2 references that are more precise and say the same thing. I also specified the "main" movements. Thanks for your help. --Nathan B2 (talk) 15:18, 28 August 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Template
[edit]Respectfully sir why the change in icon? The baptism of Jesus by John was a particular relevant picture for the subject - same as the Lutheran Rose for Lutheranism, Dirk Willems for Anabaptism, Calvin for Calvinism and so on... There is already a cross icon for the Protestantism and Christianity templates which Baptists are of course apart of. I don't mean to do an edit war with you so I apologize if I came off on the wrong foot, however I believe there was "nothing broken" so I don't see why the old icon was changed. Have a good day sir. 24.44.73.34 (talk) 19:49, 27 November 2021 (UTC)
- Hello 24.44.73.34 (talk · contribs). Thank you for the comments. The other file is not representative of global beliefs (Baptist, Brackney 2020, p. 35) (Wikipedia:Systemic bias).
