[edit]Hello Natgleira1106. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Natgleira1106. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Natgleira1106|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Cordless Larry (talk) 17:08, 27 September 2020 (UTC)
@Cordless Larry: Hi Cordless Larry, thank you for the message and reminder! I am writing back to share that I am NOT receiving compensation for the content I am currently editing, and I am happy to provide more details to verify my relationship in a more private format. I do appreciate your feedback about the impression of my edits. I am willing to learn ways to improve my writing skills since English is not my first language, and I understand that there are nuances to expressing or translating a statement from monther-tone to another language. Thank you again for your feedback! I will read more about the all the policies you've shared above, and feel free to redirect me to any other policy that I should be aware of. --Natgleira1106 (talk) 03:17, 28 September 2020 (UTC)
@Cordless Larry: Hi Cordless Larry, I wanted to check in and see if you've had a chance to read my reply, and whether if you have any feedback before I start editing again. To be sure, can I edit after replying to your earlier message? Or do I have to wait for your approval before start editing again? Thank you! --Natgleira1106 (talk) 12:37, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
- Hello, Natgleira1106. Yes, if you're not being paid then you can continue to edit, but if you have some other relationship with the subject that could be seen as a conflict of interest, then you should read and follow the advice at WP:COI. Cordless Larry (talk) 12:44, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
