Disambiguation page creation
[edit]Yes, thanks VERY MUCH for your efforts. I think I get it now. I don't know if introductory info to Wiki-editing could be clearer or that the problem is I'm the kinda guy that starts fooling with stuff before reading the instruction manual. What I could not get was THE VERY BASIC step of how to create something from scratch, but I guess the way it is done is the counter-intuitive step to search for an article that doesn't exist and start with the blank page Wikipedia page presents you with, (which looks like an error), type it up, (and/or copy over from existing), save it and then rename everything. I'm a little nervous about doing it but when I'm rested and ambitious I'll try and get this done. Thanks again and take care. Best, truthdowser 04:02, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

Happy things
[edit]Hi Natalya, I'm so sorry that I haven't got back to you sooner, especially after that smiling crater cheered me up so much ;)
As you may have notied, even though I'm offically back, my editing has been kind of sparse, but there are a few things that I really wanted to say before I have to get back to real life work:
Thanks so much for all your support. It was a difficult time, but you helped a lot. You certainly have, in your words, returned the favour. Also, I think that Esperanza's in a really good place right now, and we're getting a lot of work done, work that Esperanza is perfect for. The talk page and the governence talk pages are also working out very well. I wonder if this has anything to do with a certain admin gen....? ;)
I hope to talk to you again soon. Take care. Thε Halo Θ 23:50, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
Thank You!

[edit]I think Hildanknight might have left us! He didn't reply to a message I left him, and his contribs show his last edit 2 days ago. In addition, his last edit summary doesn't look too good.....--Edtalk c E 20:42, 21 August 2006 (UTC)

re: wikibreak
[edit]Hi Natalya, thank you for your kind words regarding my wikibreak. I'm sorry to say that I'll still be on break due to health reasons, but at least I'm not as stressed out as earlier. Again, thanks. --Tachikoma 23:33, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks, but "unstressed" is an overstatement. Generally speaking, I think I do an OK job handling concerns about my health...sorta used to it. On the other hand, stresses stemming from work, relationships and such...not so much. --Tachikoma 23:51, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

Adding interwiki links
[edit]Greetings. You added [[vi:Tiêu bản:Cc-sa]] to Template:Cc-sa, but there's a problem. When you add interwiki links like that to a template, the link gets copied onto every page that includes that template. So an article without a Vietname version will still show a link to a Vietnamese version, if that article includes the template. I fixed it by putting the link inside the <noinclude></noinclude> tags, but I'm letting you know for future reference. All the best, – Quadell (talk) (bounties) 20:32, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

Son of a Peach requesting unblock
[edit]Hi Natalya,
Son of a Peach is requesting an unblock on his talk page. I took a look at his recent edits and while some might be questionable, they don't seem to be disruptive at this time. I note that he's been blocked before, but his recent activities seem much less disruptive. His edit summaries could use some cleaning up and he was warned for closing an MfD on his own user page, but do these recent activities warrant an immediate a week long block? I don't think so, but I wonder if you could shed some light on this. Thanks, Deathphoenix ʕ 15:59, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
- It's up to you. I was thinking that a week is too long, but I think you're right about one thing: this shows him clearly that his behaviour is unacceptable. If I unblock him now, he'll still think his behaviour is fine. --Deathphoenix ʕ 03:44, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks. If he keeps up his behaviour, then an extended block is, of course, quite warranted. :-) --Deathphoenix ʕ 00:04, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
New members
[edit]Natalya, I've finally been able to write a script to generate a list of new Esperanza members. A test output can be seen here. The bot could be set to automatically run every 3 or 4 days, with welcomers watchlisting the list so that any new members can be welcomed. One problem is that if someone goes unwelcomed until the next update, they will not appear on the list again and may miss the chance to get welcomed. We might need to work around that. Cheers, Tangotango 05:18, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
- That's right, it's a list of members added since the last time the bot ran. (Set to 26 July for the test) If it seems okay, I'll post a request at WP:BRFA and we'll be good to go :) - Tangotango 16:07, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
Hi Natalya! You've signed up to be a judge for the Esperanza User Page Award! You'll have three user pages to examine. The user pages you get coincide with your signup number. So if you signed up to be a judge in spot 1 than you will get nominations 1-3. Pick your favorite one, and list it in the finalist section. After all 5 judges have chosen a finalist it's time to award them 1-10 points in the four categories:
- Attractiveness: general layout, considering colour scheme and/or use of tables if applicable
- Usefulness: links to subpages or editing aids, helpful information
- Interesting-ness: quirky, unique, captivating, or funny content
- Subpages: quality of subpages, talk pages.
- General niceness: at the judges' discretion
Please see the Scores section on this page for additional information on your job as a judge.
Keep in mind that your scores are confidential! Email Petros471 with your scores and final picks. As soon as all the scores have been tallied, a winner will be announced! Thanks.

User:Son of a Peach
[edit]I would just like to motion here my feelings over the blocking of User:Son of a Peach. Rather than shortening his/her block, I feel it should be extended, maybe indefinitely. The user is purposely interruptive, uncivil, and generally not an asset to Wikipedia. Aside from this user's frivolous additions to the Shit article, their userpage has constantly had to be reverted by other users, and he/she has a tendency to crudely belittle others on their own talk pages. Please take a moment to look over what contributions this user has offered to the community. Also, just to clarify, I for one am against the unblocking of this User, and I find his excuse ("My last edits appear to be my cleanup of the article Shit (not vandalism).") repulsive. Well that really lasted. ;)I should be back more or less normally now, the homework I have left is involving typing so I may finally try and get Charizard up to FA. Hello, Natalya. This is a quick message to remind you that all 5 finalists for the Esperanza User Page Award have been chosen. You now need to judge those 5 pages, awarding each one 1-10 points for attractiveness, usefulness, interesting-ness, general niceness and quality of subpages. Refer to the Scores section at the project page if you are unsure of how to score.
Once you have scored the 5 pages, email Petros471 using the specified format. As soon as all the scores have been tallied, a winner will be announced. Thanks. May the Force be with you! Shreshth91($ |-| ŗ 3 $ |-| ţ |-|) 11:17, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Hi Natalya, I had learned about what had happened to MJ's sister through your talk page. I hope that you don't consider that a violation of your privacy. MJ is one of about 40 or 50 users on my watchlist, in order to revert any vandalism, and when I saw her edit summary on my watchlist, I decided that trying to find out what was wrong and giving her a kind word was too important to ignore. I know that talk pages on Wikipedia can be seen by everyone, but I don't make it a habit to pry into what other users are saying. I hope you understand, and if you feel offended, I hope that you will forgive me. --Tachikoma 00:16, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks. I'm not going to go into details, but in the past, I've been stalked, and so I value my privacy, and accordingly I try to value other people's privacy as well, so if my reaction seemed excessive, at least you see why. --Tachikoma 02:12, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
Nertz NNA standard rules are bogus...
[edit]Hi Natalya. I did some edits back on Nertz quite some time ago, and just recently checked in on the article and saw someone from the NNA saying they have the only official rules. Thought you might be ineterested to know NNA turns up no google hits, and Hoyle and Pagat list the rules and terminology as well much different than the NNA. Given that information, the position that NNA have the "official rules" of Nertz is hard to maintain at best, and grossly absurd at worst.

Page move
[edit]Could you please move Cherrim back to Cherimu? Cherimu is one of the new fourth generation Pokémon, and since no English name has been revealed, there is many variations of romanizations from Japanese to English. Up until now, the whole community was sure on the romanization "Cherimu", until about a week ago, when a few semi major sites started using the romanization, Cherrim.
Since the majority of the community is still decided on Cherimu, and since Nintendo has not revealed any official romanization, I think we should use the main romanization. I asked the editor who moved the article, Mitsumasa (talk · contribs), why they moved it, and they said a few sites had started using this version, which in turn I asked for a source as to why.
So far I haven't been given a link as to why they just changed the romanization, so I was hoping you could move it back Cherimu. Hope you're well, Highway Daytrippers 17:24, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
- Nintendo has only ever used "チェリム". Cherimu is the widely accepted unofficial translation. Now, the editors have put "Cherrim (チェリム, Cherimu)", which means Cherrim is the official translation. When it isn't. So generally, the editors have changed to their personal interpretation of チェリム, and (possibly accidentally) fobbed it off as official.
