Managing conflicts of interest

Information icon Hello, Camcintire. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page New England Aquarium, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Hello,
Thank you for the message. I wasn't completely aware of those guidelines before and I apologize. I do have an external connection to the New England Aquarium, but I started editing the article on my own and I am certainly not being paid to do it. My goal was to provide a complete and objective summary of the aquarium, as the information before my edits was lacking, misleading, and/or extremely out of date. I used Wikipedia articles about other aquariums as guides, and I have been working on finding independent sources for all of the claims in the article. Many of the links to references that were already in the article no longer worked. I will stop editing the article now, and I do understand if you need to remove my contributions.

Thanks for replying. Your edits seem fine but I don't really have time to properly review the article so I'll leave that to someone else. If you see anything else you want changed in the article, please use the request edit template mentioned above to propose edits on the article's Talk page.   –Skywatcher68 (talk) 16:03, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It's not a problem that you made some final edits to round out your work in rhe article, but you shouldn't edit it directly anymore. —Alalch E. 11:23, 21 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds good. Do with it as you will. Thanks for your patience with this Wikipedia novice! Narwhal989 (talk) 17:47, 21 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hope seeing you around! :) —Alalch E. 23:37, 21 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
