It is a good idea to read the most recent entries at the bottom of the Talk page of an existing article before making major changes to it, to see if your proposed change has been discussed before. Before I make a major change to an article, I often make a proposal on the Talk page to see if anyone minds.
Again, welcome! -- Ssilvers (talk) 20:04, 8 February 2015 (UTC)
Musicals project
[edit]You asked if I can recommend some articles about musicals that need help. I'll think more about this, but how about beginning with Best Foot Forward. For starters, it needs a plot summary. -- Ssilvers (talk) 20:04, 8 February 2015 (UTC)
- Hi. It doesn't help much to tag an article saying that refs are needed. It is much better to do a google search (or, if you are near a library, dig into some theatre books) and add some refs. See what I did with Best Foot Forward, just now, for an example of a quick upgrade from stub-class to start class. -- Ssilvers (talk) 02:48, 10 February 2015 (UTC)
Hi! I'll think about other MT articles that need work. One is certainly Jason Howland. He's been involved in many Broadway shows (see ibdb.com). On Sunday, he won a Grammy Award. Irelandkm (talk) 13:41, 10 February 2015 (UTC)
I'm relatively new (as far as level of participation and Wiki expertise) to the MT Project. I'd love to see more standards established for articles on musicals, composer/lyricists, and MT actors (or perhaps I just haven't found them.) I have some time to contribute if there are some members with more Wiki knowledge. Irelandkm (talk) 13:41, 10 February 2015 (UTC)
Natalia: one of the things you could do is go through current Broadway and Off-Broadway musicals and see if they comply with guidelines at Wikipedia:WikiProject Musical Theatre/Article Structure, and fix those that don't. Irelandkm (talk) 14:41, 10 February 2015 (UTC)
- Ireland and Natalia, for a good examples of an article on a composer/lyricist, see Noel Coward. Also, Cole Porter, Jerome Kern, Guy Bolton and Stephen Sondheim are ok. For examples of MT actor bios, see Stanley Holloway, Elaine Paige and Bernadette Peters. -- Ssilvers (talk) 17:09, 10 February 2015 (UTC)
