Welcome

[edit]

Hello, Nafiskabir000 and welcome to Wikipedia! It appears you are participating in a class project. If you haven't done so already, we encourage you to go through our training for students. Go through our online training for students

If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Please also read this helpful advice for students.

Before you create an article, make sure you understand what kind of articles are accepted here. Remember: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and while many topics are encyclopedic, some things are not.

Your instructor or professor may wish to set up a course page, and if your class doesn't already have one please tell your instructor about that. It is highly recommended that you place this text: {{Educational assignment}} on the talk page of any articles you are working on as part of your Wikipedia-related course assignment. This will let other editors know this article is a subject of an educational assignment and aid your communication with them.

We hope you like it here and encourage you to stay even after your assignment is finished! Nick Moyes (talk) 00:40, 9 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Reverted your edit to KS Steel

[edit]

Why? Firstly, because it was an exact copy from the Blue Book, which is a violation of Wikipedia's copyright rules. Edits must paraphrase content from sources. Secondly, because the KS Steel website content you found and copied is about a company by that name that has nothing whatsoever to do with KS steel, the product. (Additionally, it was not a minor edit.) David notMD (talk) 02:46, 9 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, just to let you know I had to revert your new edit because it still included information that had been copied and pasted from the source. David notMD explained it pretty well the first time around. I'm sure that this was all just a misunderstanding, but copy-righted material still can't be added to Wikipedia. Hope you have a great day! GreenLipstickLesbian (talk) 06:00, 9 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
GLL deleted what you added because some of it was directly copied from the KS Steel website (which has nothing to do with KL steel, the product) and the rest was directly copied from the Riken website. The latter is an appropriate source, but any content you add has to be in your own words, not copied nor lightly paraphrased. It may be that there is no additional information to find and write about for KS steel. Consider asking your teacher if you can change topics. David notMD (talk) 10:53, 9 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

As David notMD and others have helpfully informed you, anything you add to Wikipedia needs to be written entirely in your own words. You are very fortunate that no one has blocked you from editing Wikipedia yet. Please review the Plagiarism and Copyright training module before making any additional edits to Wikipedia. Thanks. The article need a lead paragraph that captures what is in all the sections. References not necessary in lead. David notMD (talk) 03:35, 17 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
