Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Myisha T Hill, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason. MusingSilence (talk) 17:03, 6 July 2022 (UTC) I am not paid. I am a follower of a number of Social Justice people on Instagram and in groups. I also have education at the university level in Social Work and Social Justice.[reply]

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.) MusingSilence (talk) 17:03, 6 July 2022 (UTC) I understand my mistake.[reply]

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing. MusingSilence (talk) 17:03, 6 July 2022 (UTC) I am doing this in Wiki on my own accord, no compensation or expectation of any compensation or recognition.[reply]

Again, welcome! --Deepfriedokra (talk) 12:45, 1 October 2021 (UTC)MusingSilence (talk) 17:03, 6 July 2022 (UTC) I understand all this information and will follow all guidelines and rules ofWikipedia, and ask for Help[reply]

Conflict of interest

[edit]

You indicated in your rename request that you are working with a group to write about a subject with which you have a conflict of interest. You must declare your COI on your user page and on any page related to your COI. Also, you must not coordinate editing of WIkipedia off-Wiki. Thanks, --Deepfriedokra (talk) 12:50, 1 October 2021 (UTC)MusingSilence (talk) 17:03, 6 July 2022 (UTC) I am an individual and not a group. I mistated.[reply]

I can see that I have jumped in as a newcomer, not totally understanding the rules of Wikipedia. I have made erroneous assumptions of the exactness of what I need to do as an editor or writer - if of course given permissions. I am a retired Social Worker whose specialty is Social Justice and that was going to be what I added to this almost sacred space to me as I am of the generation who had actual encyclopedias. For me to be told I have a Conflict of Interest is serious as it is not my training and education to ever engage in a Conflict of Interest. It would not be just this person I would Cite but other Authors such as Bell Hooks, or such as Angela Davis, Elie Wiese, and more. I incorrectly named my "sign-in" from the start due to my misunderstanding, then tried again, again failing. I see that I need to study and newcomer information that is made available on this site. My main "need" is how to appropriately name the account so I am in compliance, with Wikipedia to begin with. My topic for any article or information is to be "Interlocking Systems of Oppression." While I can understand that I have made multiple errors, wading into this space, I hope I have something to offer - without having even the appearance of a Conflict of Interest as that would be against my Social Work Practice. Again, I appreciate all the Feedback. Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article, or a draft for a Wikipedia article, about yourself, at Draft:Myisha T Hill. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. Name change

[edit]

Hi. My name is Nike E Bottalico. I am not Myisha T Hill. I named something incorrectly. 2600:1700:1BD0:4A90:717B:8E47:205A:F73D (talk) 17:37, 15 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, in that case it seems you've picked the wrong (and misleading) username. Please see WP:RENAME. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 17:40, 15 June 2022 (UTC) MusingSilence (talk) 17:03, 6 July 2022 (UTC) I see that.[reply]
