Question for administrator
[edit]{{adminhelp}}
Hi I am trying to create a page for a person named Joe Roberts who is not already in the Wiki and is a popular international motivational speaker and author. I need help or permission to upload an image for him. I have permission directly from the author to use his picture. Could you help me please?.
--MrsCasanova (talk) 19:45, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
- You can upload an image yourself using Wikipedia:Upload after your account is 4 days old and you have made 10 edits, so technically you can do so tomorrow. As for the copyright questions, the image needs to be released under a free compatible license by the creator of the image. See Wikipedia:Image use policy for more details on uploading such images to Wikipedia. If you have further questions afterwards, you can use {{helpme}} here or ask at the help desk. {{adminhelp}} Ok so I made the draft in the userspace, how do I make it live?
- Hi there, you don't need an admin assistance for this. Any autoconfirmed can help you, so you should use {{helpme}} instead. Anyway, where is the page located currently, and where do you want it to go? --Shirik (Questions or Comments?) 18:44, 2 February 2010 (UTC)
Sorry to bother you I figured it out. Thank you for your help!

Speedy deletion nomination of File:JoeLargeBW.JPG
[edit]A tag has been placed on File:JoeLargeBW.JPG requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only," "non-derivative use" or "used with permission," it has not been shown to comply with the limited standards for the use of non-free content. [1], and it was either uploaded on or after 19 May 2005, or is not used in any articles. If you agree with the deletion, there is no need to do anything. If, however, you believe that this image may be retained on Wikipedia under one of the permitted conditions then:
- state clearly the source of the image. If it has been copied from elsewhere on the web you should provide links to: the image itself, the page which uses it and the page which contains the license conditions.
- add the relevant copyright tag.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.
