Disambiguation link notification
Hi. When you recently edited Maranatha Living Hope Academy, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page GNG (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

New Page Triage engagement strategy released
Hey guys!
I'm dropping you a note because you filled out the New Page Patrol survey, and indicated you'd be interested in being contacted about follow-up work. This is to notify you that we've finally released both the initial documentation about the project and also the engagement strategy, which sets out how we plan to work with the community on this. Please give both a read, and leave any comments or suggestions you have on the talkpage, on my talkpage, or in my inbox - okeyeswikimedia.org.
It's awesome to finally get to start work on this! :). Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 02:52, 3 March 2012 (UTC)
From User:ThunderingTyphoons!: "Hello" and a question
Thanks for your very welcoming and informative message on my user page! I wonder if you could tell me what to do in the event of discovering a whole paragraph that is clearly biased? It's on the A16 autoroute article, section street lighting. It's clearly been written by a frequent user of that stretch of road and although it's shockingly written, it could contain useful information if re-written. Would it be better to request on the talk for it to be changed or to just delete it outright? Any advice you could give me would be great.--ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 18:22, 17 March 2012 (UTC)
- Hi, welcome to Wikipedia. While it is better to avoid blanking sections, sometimes this may be justifiable. If you can source and neutralise the section then that would be better, though if you can just source the fact that the lights were turned off then that could warrant a brief mention elsewhere in the article. If you think you can rewrite the section, with sources, then be bold. Also, please let me know if you've watchlisted my talk page so that I know whether to keep leaving talkback templates on your talk page. --Mrmatiko (talk) 19:04, 17 March 2012 (UTC)
A7
I venture to disagree with you about the A7 on Leah Campos Schandlbauer, as under WP:POLITICIAN 'Just being an elected local official, or an unelected candidate for political office, does not guarantee notability, although such people can still be notable if they meet the primary notability criterion of "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject of the article".' I could see nothing there that would have passed A7. Anyway, I deleted it as promo (indubitable to my mind - would she have needed an article otherwise?) and left a message for the author. Peridon (talk) 10:20, 25 March 2012 (UTC)
- I dislike the ambiguous wording of the importance criteria. When I changed that speedy deletion tag I did it based on "The criterion does not apply to any article that makes any credible claim of significance or importance even if the claim is not supported by a reliable source" (WP:A7) Since Importance is "a lower standard than notability" (WP:A7) I thought that the claims made in the article (even though promotional) were enough to satisfy this criteria. --Mrmatiko (talk) 17:47, 25 March 2012 (UTC)
- The difference between importance and notability is troublesome. But you can pretty well guarantee that where candidature is the only importance, promo is the intention. They would go on PROD or AfD anyway. Peridon (talk) 20:41, 25 March 2012 (UTC)
No need to apologise
Re: this. No need to apologise, at least not to me; there are plenty of editors on Wikipedia that behave like jerks, but you certainly aren't one of them. It was no trouble at all :) Pol430 talk to me 19:32, 27 March 2012 (UTC)

Varna article
Thanks for your considered weighing-in at the Varna (Hinduism) article. Much appreciated. - Sitush (talk) 20:50, 4 April 2012 (UTC)
- No problem, though I didn't really expand much on what you'd already said. Hopefully we've reached the end of this issue. If you ever need a 3rd opinion again then I'd be happy to take a look at the situation if you leave me a note here. --Mrmatiko (talk) 06:20, 5 April 2012 (UTC)
NanoCAD_3.5_screenshot.png
Dear Mrmatiko, I've written a comment about the screenshot source on the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Possibly_unfree_files/2012_April_6#File:NanoCAD_3.5_screenshot.png page. Please read it and if you need more information don't hesitate to ask me. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ValeriyaR (talk • contribs) 08:52, 9 April 2012 (UTC)
- The program doesn't appear to be licensed as free software. The e-mail needs to go through the copyright process before it could be used under the license you've used. You would need to get a declaration of consent from the person who created the screenshot.--Mrmatiko (talk) 09:08, 9 April 2012 (UTC)
- Here is the declaration of consent from Vsevolod Mayskiy who created the screenshot:

The person who created the screenshot has sent the declaration of consent two days ago, but there is still no answer. Do you know how long this procedure can continue? — Preceding unsigned comment added by ValeriyaR (talk • contribs) 13:49, 13 April 2012 (UTC)
Mishari article
Thank you very much for your suggestions. I will edit the article and resubmit soon.
Further I still do not know how to organize my user page, Egeymi. Could please help me?
My User page
I would like use some boxes appear in your page and others' pages. Is it possible for us, ordinary contributors, to use similar boxes on our page? If so, how?
If you do not mind, I may have further questions later. Thanks.
- Do you mean userboxes? There are loads at the gallery. You can organise them using {{Userboxtop}} and {{Userboxbottom}} or you can spread them across the page. Also feel free to ask anything here. --Mrmatiko (talk) 16:30, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
Yes, I meant them. I have used some boxes. Thank you very much.
Kin (iamamiwhoami album)
Hi, I'm sorry that my article wasn't up to the standard, but if you read carefully, iamamiwhoami is in fact a notable person, according to the Notability criteria of musicians and ensembles. She has won a Grammi in 2010 for being the Innovator of the Year. Is there a way I can still publish the article? Thank you for your help, this is her first album and I would really like to see the page being created. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Borderings (talk • contribs) 17:24, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
- iamamiwhoami herself is notable, that is clear because she already has a Wikipedia article with several independent sources. However her album Kin isn't automatically notable just because the person who made it is notable. Albums need to be independently notable themselves. --Mrmatiko (talk) 17:36, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
Okay, could you please explain in simple terms how I can do this? I'm not too sure how many references I need, and how I can even make this page possible. It's not released yet. Borderings (talk) 19:03, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
I would also like to know how a page like this could have been approved without barely a reference. Thanks a lot. Borderings (talk) 19:16, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
- The most important thing for establishing notability is the presence of multiple, independent, reliable sources which provide significant coverage of the article subject. In practice this means at least 3, preferably more sources which are national/international news sources with several paragraphs entirely about the subject of the article.
- The only answer I can give to your second question is that each article is judged on its own merits, that worse articles exist doesn't mean that the article being discussed now should be allowed to pass through in a similar state. The primary aim of Articles for Creation is to get articles in a state where they aren't likely to be deleted in the main article space, I appreciate that having an article declined is disappointing, but at least you get the chance to improve it with our help over time instead of having to get involved in the deletion process.--Mrmatiko (talk) 20:42, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
Hirsch Bedner Associates draft
Thank you for the review, but I would take issue with the notability characterization. What interested me in the first place is the creation of an new industry segment within interior design by Harold Hirsch. Considering that the most exciting design work is generally happening in hotels, Hirsch seems quite notable. In fact, HBA is referenced in several Wikipedia articles on specific properties.
Do you have guidance as to your reasoning in classing this non-notable?
Please accept by best regards and sincerity in asking this question.
Bjdean68 (talk) 18:04, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
- Per my comment on the draft (which seems to have been put in an awkward place) "While there are now sources, those provided are either not about the company itself or provide nothing beyond routine coverage/ directory entries". You need to provide significant coverage of the company, rather than the person. If you can't do this it may be more appropriate to create a different article about Hirsch himself instead. --Mrmatiko (talk) 18:09, 12 April 2012 (UTC)

Hello
Hi Mrmatriko, I wasn't sure if you left the live-help wikipedia page due to technical difficulties or just had other things that needed your attention but I wanted to continue our discussion and see what you thought about the NPOV issue we talked about. I would be very much interested in getting your opinion on the matter. Thanks. TylerDurden8823 (talk) 17:07, 27 April 2012 (UTC)
- Sorry, I was having technical problems and decided it was better to quit IRC than to annoy people by repeatedly connecting & disconnecting. After some careful consideration, I have given my view at the talk page. --Mrmatiko (talk) 17:33, 27 April 2012 (UTC)
