Hoth (Baloch Tribe) moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Hoth (Baloch Tribe), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hello, Mowahid Mohsin!

Unconstructive editing
[edit] Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Baloch people. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. Articles in draft space should not be linked to the main article space. Please stop adding links from mainspace to draftspace. PohranicniStraze (talk) 00:03, 14 June 2020 (UTC)
How is adding a link “vandalism”? I added the link to the “Hoth Baloch” article because it’s totally worth mentioning and Wikipedia has no page on the Hoth tribe, nor King Hoth. Instead of discouraging, you can help. You can tell me what is exactly wrong with the article I created on King Hoth Baloch so I can fix it. Mowahid Mohsin (talk) 00:25, 14 June 2020 (UTC)
- Hello! Looking at it a few hours later, a level-2 warning was a bit bitey on my part; my sincere apologies, a little overreaction is common after you spend too much time on vandalism reversion. I'm striking the warning above. I've done some general cleanup on the King Hoth Baloch page, on both the formatting and referencing. Wikipedia can't be a reference to itself, so I've moved those pages from the reference list to a "see also" section. Welcome, and happy editing! PohranicniStraze (talk) 04:49, 14 June 2020 (UTC)
Thank you very much! This makes me very happy. :) King Hoth actually happens to be my ancestor so naturally I just felt uncomfortable with the fact that no Wikipedia page existed on him. I had been trying to collect information on him since I was 8 years old (I’m 14 now by the way). And again, thank you for your kind response, I really can’t blame you for the warning because I myself agree that maybe I was a bit too over confident and much of my edits weren’t exactly helpful. Happy editing to you too! :) Mowahid Mohsin (talk) 11:42, 14 June 2020 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for June 15
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Jalal Khan, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Baloch (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Rind Khan is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rind Khan until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. ~ Amkgp 💬 15:46, 17 June 2020 (UTC)
Hm... I understand but what exactly is wrong with the article that it’s going to be deleted? It took a lot of research and time so I’m really interested in what is wrong with it. All necessary references are present and the rest is literally general knowledge (for example that Mir Chakar Rind is Rind Khan’s descendant). Mowahid Mohsin (talk) 16:50, 17 June 2020 (UTC)
Another thing that I must mention is that there are many other published articles on Wikipedia that have lesser content and even more fewer references but they are still published, so why is the Rind Khan article nominated to be deleted? Mowahid Mohsin (talk) 17:08, 17 June 2020 (UTC)
- It's very frustrating to find an article on a subject of personal interest to come up for deletion. You are right in that an article can languish unnoticed for years. What generally happens is that an editor comes across it, reads it, then asks "What exactly has this person done or accomplished?" (This is probably why User:Amkgp made this AfD proposal.) Earlier this year I found an article that was at least five years old but was speculative in addition to having verifiability and conflict of interest problems. Thus if went up for (successful) deletion. Blue Riband► 17:38, 1 July 2020 (UTC)
Mr. Blue Riband, you are currently the only one who voted for “delete”. And you ask what Rind Khan has accomplished? Well, I don’t know whether you have noticed or not but establishing a whole new tribe ain’t that easy and it should be enough to be remembered. And I must also add that this article didn’t even have had the chance to get more information added into it because it got nominated for deletion on the 1st or 2nd day after being created. The article has been cleaned up of all mistakes that were the reason of it being nominated for deletion so... it should be alright now shouldn’t it? References: added Mistakes: removed Unnecessary info: removed Faulty references: removed Why should he be remembered?: cuz he’s the founder of one of the main Baloch Tribes What to do now: either remove the “nominated for deletion” tag nor merge it with Rind Tribe article. Simple. No need to waste anyone’s effort or time. Mowahid Mohsin (talk) 05:04, 2 July 2020 (UTC)
Reliable references
[edit]Dear Mowahid Mohsin … I'll try, in my own way, to help you save your above created article – Rind Khan. For starters, I removed the 2 existing facebook references. As we all know that have been editing Wikipedia for some years now, social media references such as facebook, Twitter etc. are considered a 'negative' rather than help you on Wikipedia. Please familiarize yourself with Wikipedia guidelines and policies. I am also looking for more newspaper references to add to your article. In the meantime, I went ahead and voted Keep to help save your article from Deletion at the above-mentioned Wikipedia Discussion Forum. My Salaams ...Ngrewal1 (talk) 22:14, 18 June 2020 (UTC)
Thank you soo much brother/sister! I’ll try my best to look for better references, but the problem is that very few articles are present on the Internet regarding Rind Khan and his siblings/family. I appreciate your help a lot. I’ll remember not to add social media references again. Thank you once again, and Wa’alykum Asalam. :) Mowahid Mohsin (talk) 00:45, 19 June 2020 (UTC)
- @Mowahid Mohsin: Your User page says that you are a 14 year old person. If I were you, I would first spend a lot of time learning policies and guidelines of Wikipedia before I start creating all kinds of articles that later get Deleted which no one wants to see their spent time and effort in creating the article going to waste. Since we all know - 'Anyone can edit Wikipedia', you'll run into all kinds of people here on Wikipedia – the good, the bad and the ugly. It can become hurtful for you emotionally, if you don't know how to defend yourself. So be ready to defend your work and yourself! Since you had created the above article, the Article Deletion nominator was supposed to ONLY notify the article creator and no one else. That's why you got the above message from Wikipedia. Most people are expected to defend their own work and article. I am very surprised today that not even you have participated at the above Wikipedia Discussion Forum except for myself. Please pay attention and read the above line in their message …."The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rind Khan until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion". By the way, I am a Pakistani-American male and located in Michigan. If you need more help and guidance, it may be easier for you to contact Wikipedia editors closer to your area. Ngrewal1 (talk) 14:51, 19 June 2020 (UTC)
Hm... I totally agree, I was a bit too much over confident about the articles. And like I said earlier not many online references are available on the topic. I will definitely spend much time on reading the policies and guidelines now, I regret ignoring them, it really was stupid of me to ignore them as I was a bit too rushed. And I spent much time trying to figure out how to vote “keep” for my article but like I said before, I’m totally new to Wikipedia editing and I very much regret not familiarizing myself with its policies and guidelines. I understood now that you sent me the link, and voted “keep”. I’ll try my best to find more references for both my Rind Khan page and my Hoth (Baloch Tribe) page (which was recently moved to Draft Space). And yes I’ll very much be hurt if my article gets deleted so I’ll try my best to save it. The whole perpose of me writing the articles about Baloch history was that if some other confused Balochi person looks for answer about his/her ancestry he/she could find it easily. Yea I saw the “Pakistani-American” banner on your page, I’m a Pakistani too :) I can’t thank you enough for helping me out brother, I’m very very greatful for your kindness and support. God bless you. I’ll try and hope for the best to happen. Salaam. Mowahid Mohsin (talk) 01:02, 20 June 2020 (UTC)
Another question I must ask: how many references are needed? Aren’t 11 references enough prove authenticity of the content? Mowahid Mohsin (talk) 01:17, 20 June 2020 (UTC)
- @Mowahid Mohsin: We already have some reliable references there at this article. That is …"reliable" in the eyes of Wikipedia. Dawn (newspaper) is highly regarded at Wikipedia. The Express Tribune, The News International, Business Recorder – all of these Pakistani newspapers have Wikipedia pages of their own and I frequently use them. In addition to Google Search Box, I myself use these newspapers' individual Search Boxes to look for articles to use as references. Just go to these newspapers' homepages to pick up their individual Search Boxes. Thanks for participating at the AfD Pakistan Discussion Forum in defence of your created article. Doesn't it feel good? Yes, it does!!!
My full name is Nisar Ahmad Grewal - Grewal being our Punjabi Jat tribal name or family name. My ancestors are originally from East Punjab city of Ludhiana and had migrated to Faisalabad and Karachi after the independence of Pakistan in 1947. I would rather not write too much personal info here on Wikipedia pages because then everybody can read it. If you like, you can e-mail me ... nisar.grewal@yahoo.com which is my official e-mail on Wikipedia records. Wassalaam ...Nisar
By the way, when you are at the AfD Pakistan for casting your vote, there might be some confusion initially. After the first time voting, it's fairly simple. When you are done writing your comment, on your WIKIPEDIA OPEN EDIT WINDOW ON YOUR MOBILE PHONE, there is a 'Boxed Portion' just above the 'Edit summary'. In the middle of that area...it says 'Sign your posts on talk pages' and if you mouse over that active Wikipedia link, it will say.."Click on the character or tag to insert it into the edit window" and simply just click on that link and it AUTOMATICALLY signs your NAME to your just finished comment. Ngrewal1 (talk) 18:03, 20 June 2020 (UTC)
So is my article safe now...? I will search up news paper articles like you said, I have to save my article! And yea it does feel great :) It’s really nice to meet good people like you Nisar (by the way my grandfather’s name is also Nisar :D). My ancestors are obviously the Baloch rulers like my name suggests and they were the rulers of many areas of Pakistan and Iran (for example Karachi) before the British came to colonise the subcontinent. I’m a half Hoath/Hoth (from my dad’s side) and half Rind Baloch (from one of my grandmothers and mother’s side). After British left, my great great great grandfather moved to Panjab because of harsh conditions of Balochistan. Now most of my family lives in and near the city Sargodah. But you’re right, we shouldnt mention too many personal things here on Wikipedia, it not the wisest thing to do... I would definitely consider contacting you for help if I run in to more troubles :’D. My gmail is mowahidmohsin3@gmail.com by the way. I’ll be off to read articles on the guidelines now I guess... and again I cannot thank you enough for guiding me and for your efforts to save my article on my ancestor King Hoth’s brother and my mother and grandmother’s ancestor Rind Khan :). God bless you. Mowahid Mohsin (talk) 18:42, 20 June 2020 (UTC)
My article got deleted even though only 1 out of 7 users wanted it to get deleted. :| No scene of justice on Wikipedia, there are other articles with no references and a few lines that remain published but idk why they had problems with my article only. Mowahid Mohsin (talk) 23:43, 3 July 2020 (UTC)
