- Hi, let me say "Welcome" also. I noticed your new article Barharia and I have tried to make some additions to it. I learned a bit about Bihar and more in the process. Thanks for contributing it, and I hope you stick with it. For most people it is hard to get started in Wikipedia, but you have done well already! (By the way, do you have any photos of Barharia that you could possibly contribute to commons.wikimedia.org, for use in this article? I created a category at Barharia, India, category at commons.wikimedia.org. If you do upload any photos, please add that category to the files.) I will "watchlist" here, but also please feel free to contact me at my Talk page anytime. By the way, I am an American and a long-time Wikipedia volunteer. cheers, --doncram 01:48, 9 August 2015 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Barharia
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Barharia requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. - An article which simply says "This article is about Barharia" is of no use. Instead, the article needs to say what Barharia is. The usual opening paragraph starts: "Barharia is ..." (For example: Barharia is a village in such-and-such district, such-and-such state, India.) It also ought to contain a reference, such as a census listing (see the policy of verifiability). - Mike Rosoft (talk) 06:27, 8 August 2015 (UTC)
- There already exists an article Barharia (Vidhan Sabha constituency) - is it the same location, or a different one? - Mike Rosoft (talk) 07:20, 8 August 2015 (UTC)
