Hi, I'm GSS. I wanted to let you know that I saw the page you reviewed, Iulia Vântur, and have marked it as unpatrolled. If you have any questions, please ask them on my talk page. Thank you.

Iulia Vântur moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Iulia Vântur, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. You need to explain what happened here...
Were did you get this text from? Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 09:08, 2 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Moheen you have not yet answered what Doc James asked above so can you please explain? Thank you – GSS (talk|c|em) 04:53, 3 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I got most of the information from this userpage. ~Moheen (keep talking) 04:56, 3 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
So you copied and pasted from there without attribution? Appears there have been prior copyright warnings. And why would you copy spammy text into mainspace?
It appears you were blocked in the past for promotional editing[1]
User:Bishonen your thoughts? Moheen copied and pasted some one elses article into mainspace. Money appears to have been avaliable for this work with ongoing paid efforts to get the article live. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 13:35, 3 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I was wonking on it. Rewriting was not impossible. Though it's already removed. ~Moheen (keep talking) 16:40, 3 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Please see my unblock rationale here, Doc James. Moheen acted dubiously in 2013. He was very green and didn't understand, or respect, Wikipedia, but tried to promote himself with various tricks. He well deserved the indefinite block at that time, and several reviewing admins agreed with me that it was impossible to assume good faith of his actions. However, more than two years later, I was impressed by what he had done in the meantime on other wikis, and I was glad to regard him as a reformed character and unblock.
AFAIK, there haven't been any problems since, and I think the 2013 history should be forgotten. I don't understand the present problem very well. Moheen, I urge you to explain what your relation is to User:Akkiipc, from whose userpage you copied the material. Please be completely frank. Don't say you just happened to come across the userpage and thought it would make a good article, because that would put too great a strain on my assumption of good faith, and probably other people's too. If Akkiipc is your own account, please say so. You've mostly been a good user here, so I very much hope there's a good explanation. Bishonen | talk 19:05, 3 January 2019 (UTC).[reply]
Thanks User:Bishonen. I will await Moheen's response to your questions. These latest issues are a significant concern. Creation of articles like this Draft:Iulia Vântur are also concerning. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 08:19, 4 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you Bishonen for your comment. But I have no connection with userpage Akkiipc. Strange that asking about it. I just found this userpage when I was nominated a portrait on Commons, after I interested in created the article. ~Moheen (keep talking) 09:43, 4 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Doc James: This looks like a copyright violation here. The series of these images were published by the subject on their Instagram, prior to its posting here and most of the images shows the name of the copyright holder as "Sanika Devdikar" (e.g. this), but Shrinivaskulkarni1388 uploaded these images as his own work. I believe the images were provided by the subject, but we don't have the formal permission from the actual copyright holder to use them here on Wikipedia. GSS (talk|c|em) 12:02, 4 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

With respect to the timeline you

  • Copied and pasted the article into main space at 6:39 UTC Jan 2
  • Nominated the image in question at 7:19 UTC Jan 2

But yes looks like there are copyright issues with the image aswell. Basically everything from that uploader has been found to have copyright concerns plus they were found to be abusing multiple accounts as am undisclosed paid editor. (User:Shrinivaskulkarni1388). Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 14:06, 4 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I can withdraw VI nomination on Commons as well. ~Moheen (keep talking) 15:51, 4 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to Organize Wiki Loves Love 2019

[edit]

Wiki Loves Love (WLL) is an International photography competition of Wikimedia Commons to subject love testimonials happening in the month of February 2019.

The primary goal of the competition is to document love testimonials through human cultural diversity such as monuments, ceremonies, snapshot of tender gesture, and miscellaneous objects used as symbol of love; to illustrate articles in the worldwide free encyclopedia Wikipedia, and other Wikimedia Foundation (WMF) projects. February is around the corner and Wiki Loves Love team invites you to organize and promote WLL19 in your country and join hands with us to celebrate love and document it on Wikimedia Commons. The theme of 2019 is Festivals, ceremonies and celebrations of love.

To organize Wiki Loves Love in your region, sign up at WLL Organizers page. You can also simply support and spread love by helping us translate the commons page in your local language which is open for translation.

The contest starts runs from 1-28 February 2019. Independent from if there is a local contest organised in your country, you can help by making the photo contest Wiki Loves Love more accessible and available to more people in the world by translating the upload wizard, templates and pages to your local language. See for an overview of templates/pages to be translated at our Translations page.

Imagine...The sum of all love!

Orphaned non-free image File:Agamee Prakashani logo.svg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Agamee Prakashani logo.svg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 03:22, 22 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for the calculation of the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. Please participate to the talk pages consultation

[edit]

Hello

Our team at the Wikimedia Foundation is working on a project to improve the ease-of-use and productivity of wiki talk pages. As a Teahouse host, I can imagine you’ve run into challenges explaining talk pages to first-time participants.

We want all contributors to be able to talk to each other on the wikis – to ask questions, to resolve differences, to organize projects and to make decisions. Communication is essential for the depth and quality of our content, and the health of our communities. We're currently leading a global consultation on how to improve talk pages, and we're looking for people that can report on their experiences using (or helping other people to use) wiki talk pages. We'd like to invite you to participate in the consultation, and invite new users to join too.

We thank you in advance for your participation and your help.

There are many things those are called as Monihar and some of them are renowned as well. Therefore, it is not wise to change the article name to Monihar from Monihar Cinema Hall whereas we are trying to promote the heritage of that cinema hall. What you think?

Your draft article, Draft:Nahid Sultan

[edit]

Hello, Moheen. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Nahid Sultan".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. CptViraj (📧) 11:59, 14 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

[SVG Translation Campaign 2019 India] Feedback survey

[edit]

Greetings,

Many thanks for participating in the SVG Translation Campaign 2019 in India. It had been quite a successful campaign—194 users from 19 Indic languages took part in the campaign for 38 days, and have created more than 2,500 SVG files, all of them having labels in native Indian languages. You may read the complete report of the campaign at https://w.wiki/3yn.

We would like to thank you again for translating SVG files as a part of this campaign, your contributions have given thousands of people the knowledge that they need the most. Now we would like to have your feedback about the overall campaign, how effective were the training sessions, the resources provided, the support etc.

Please fill the feedback survey at docs.google.com

Your responses are extremely valuable to us, and will be of immense help to understand further training needs or plan future activities in this area. Let us know if you have any questions.

Please note that 4 August 2019 is the last date to complete the survey. Regards, MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:08, 22 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Chittagong Boat Club, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 11:46, 25 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Khab Dar Bidari

[edit]

Please note that the above article needs to have some reliable sources added to it – Last.fm and Genius are not considered reliable sources by Wikipedia, and in any case they only tell us the year of release and total length, nothing to do with notability as required by WP:NALBUM. Note that WP:PRIMARY sources such as the artist's official website or social media such as Facebook and Twitter are also not acceptable... the article needs sources from newspapers or music magazines (not online blogs). If reliable sources aren't added, it's likely that an editor will come across the article, decide that it isn't notable and redirect it to the artist's page. Thank you. Notice

The file File:Pyaar Zindagi Hai - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (2001).jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-free album cover being used in a decorative manner in Pyaar Zindagi Hai#Soundtracks. Non-free album cover art is generally allowed to be used for primary identification purposes in stand-alone articles about albums, but its use in other articles is generally only allowed when the cover art itself is the subject of sourced critical commentary as explained in WP:NFC#cite_note-3 and the context for non-free use required by WP:NFCC#8 is evident. There is no such commentary for this particular album cover anywhere in the article, and the use of soundtrack album cover art in articles about films or TV programs is generally not allowed for this reason as explained in WP:FILMSCORE.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks!

[edit]

Hello,

Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.

I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up at the contest page and send us your Google account address to google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org, so we can invite you in!

From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.

If you have any questions, please let us know at google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org.

Thank you!

Block message:

Autoblocked because your IP address was recently used by "RandolphBatten". The reason given for RandolphBatten's block is: "spambot".

Decline reason: I'm going to assume that since you have been able to edit today that this autoblock no longer affects you.

  • Moheen, tcp port 1723 is open using ptpp, eDonkey is on tcp port 4662, gnutella is on tcp port 6346, and napster is on tcp port 6699. Those are from my port scans...there are more filtered ports. IPQualityscore reports proxy, TOR, recent abuse and active bots from this address. Port 1723 indicates that this is indeed running proxy services. The range is blocked here as having likely compromised servers. You should perhaps have a word with someone in IT if that isn't the department where you work.

  • Adding that there are a total of 13 open ports. In addition to the four tcp ports that I have labeled above, the following udp ports are of interest.
