Dropping by

I'm impressed by your social diffusion skills! You have been noted as a respectable wikientity. When the third world war (information security) rolls around, I want to be on your side. Thanks, The Fish 19:56, 27 May 2006 (UTC).

Welcome to VandalProof!

Thank you for your interest in VandalProof, DGX! You have now been added to the list of authorized users, so if you haven't already, simply download and install VandalProof from our main page. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Good luck DGX! Prodego talk 21:14, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

You need to install the zip file as well, which for some reason is not linked. Then try again, and let me know if you have any more problems. Happy editing! Prodego talk 21:31, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

Is it working now? Prodego talk 21:47, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

;-) I just downloaded the file in six seconds. Not to rub it in ;-) Let me know if it works when you are done. Prodego talk 21:53, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

Did you run the setup file in the zip? What is the error message now? Prodego talk 22:03, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

What was it? I'll add it to my list of things to remember. Prodego talk 22:13, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

The whitelist is a list of users you trust, depending how you set the Recent Changes settings, they either appear in green on Recent Changes or don't appear at all. It is the opposite of the blacklist which is for vandals, their edits will be shown in red. There is also a global list that can be accessed by selecting User tools -> Import/Export Lists. Prodego talk 01:18, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

No problem. Prodego talk 01:24, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

That was me editting my page. Sorry for the confusion. Thanks for reminding me to log in, though. :) Karimarie 03:11, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for putting that vandalism notice on 69.118.94.155's talkpage. This anon has done this countless times, won't listen to reason, and just vandalized my userpage [1]. Please keep a close eye on him! -- RattleMan 07:23, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for the block. He was being quite immature, there. -- RattleMan 07:36, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

Iloveminun

Thank you for reverting all of User:Iloveminun's vandalism to the sock puppet claims. I have nothing against the user, there just seems to be compelling evidence to it. Not undeniable, just interesting. Thank you again, Highway Rainbow Sneakers 20:36, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

I requested a check user, and I've found Po132 and Minun132 are the same person and Iloveminun and PokemonFan are the same person. What should I do now? Highway Rainbow Sneakers 06:50, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
PokemonFan was used vote in a controversial TfD after Iloveminun (who nominated the template) got told to stop voting delete. PokemonFan also vandalised the user page of the admin taking part in the vote who wouldn't delete it for him. It's more of a larger problem by Iloveminun, who is trying to replace Serebii, a valued and incredibly useful website most of the actually reference, from hundreds of Pokémon articles (first he tried to remove the template that links to it manually, then from the template that produces references in all the Pokémon articles and replace it with his own website, Pokémon Galaxy. Pokémon Galaxy is not at present even finished, but it seems to be pushing it. Which is how I got caught in everything. (Bit odd how I caught the real sockpuppet when I was originally way off) Thanks, Highway Rainbow Sneakers 07:01, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
I will. Is Minun132 being abusive? Hmm, I had missed that. Thank you for the offer, I will wait for your return since this is a new situation for me. Thanks again, Highway Rainbow Sneakers 07:53, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
Nah, I'm writing I'm just ill. And getting sidetracked. It's nearly done. Cheers, Highway Rainbow Sneakers 14:32, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
Is there any particular way to do it? Or do I just note notarize the points and link to the evidence? Highway Rainbow Sneakers 13:37, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

Done, you can find it here. Sorry for the wait, I'm feeling bad and Mailer Diablo and I were discussing FAC problems. Cheers, Highway Rainbow Sneakers 14:55, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

We did it! Thank you for all the help, I feel slightly embarrassed that someone who has been here a month in so much more knowledgable than I am in certain aspects. If you ever need a hand with something (Fair use, FAC, GA) just drop me a bell. Cheers, Highway Rainbow Sneakers 16:44, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
That does explain a lot, I didn't expect a newbie reverting vandalism within 40 edits. How long have you been around then? Highway Rainbow Sneakers 16:49, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
Were you an admin before? Highway Rainbow Sneakers 17:07, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
(prods MSN) Nothing's coming through... Highway Rainbow Sneakers 17:35, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

I have the inbox open. The last time I got an email, it took a while to come through. I'll check in 15 minutes. Up to anything? Highway Rainbow Sneakers 17:42, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

You have to add an email address. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 18:43, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
Me thinks not potential paedophile. You can leave a message at my aquarium. We have lovely fish there, all colours. We have food too! Highway Rainbow Sneakers 19:02, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
Like I said, you have potential. I'm not as old as everyone else. Cheers and visit the aquarium, Highway Rainbow Sneakers 19:10, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
I'd have deleted it immediately, but best not to contaminate my friends with interesting material. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 19:12, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
I somewhat doubt that. Are you willing to produce an age bracket? Highway Rainbow Sneakers 19:14, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

Like "18-30". Highway Rainbow Sneakers 19:19, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

Sorry, was away. You are older than me. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 19:48, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

Jimmy Yang

Actually, he went by Akio when he wrestled Charlie Haas on Heat. --JFred 21:41, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

ECW

There is actually a new page at Extreme Championship Wrestling (WWE) which covers the return of ECW as a third brand for WWE, that is why the ECW Brand on the WWE roster page now links to that. --JFred 21:44, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

Inactive list

Do you have the Inactive list at the bottom of the Main Rosters section, kinda like a fourth brand? That's where I'd put it. As for Dupree, I've been following OVW and DSW and he hasn't appeared in either in over a month now, so I'd keep him inactive (that's why I left him there when I moved Parisi to DSW from inactive). --JFred 22:08, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

I like, including what you did with the non-contracted talent. Good work. --JFred 22:25, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

Regards to your message to me

I modified that page because it doesn't belong in the category the page placed it in. If that's not allowed, OK - But it definitely doesn't belong in the Time category... 82.17.235.34 22:33, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

  • Putting this here so MediaWiki will ping you: I apologise for blanking it, but I would have just modified it if I could find out where (In the mix of templates) it was actually specifying it. OwenS 22:45, 28 May 2006 (UTC) (Formerly 82.17.235.34)

Chris Raaber

I emailed Steve Gerweck of Gerweck.net, and he said that Raaber never officially signed. I also emailed him about Lash LeRoux and apparently Lash was never under WWE contract. --JFred 01:47, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

unneccesary revert

thanks for the revert, though I just forgot to login. -- Chris Ccool2ax contrib. 04:03, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

stop reverting

Excuse me, but you need to stop reverting the edits i have made about the golf tournaments. It is not important info to have that stuff copied and pasted from each tournament, as all pga tour events have the same prize structure, the same field and such, there can be a write up on the main pga tour page on the structure, but it does not need to be copied onto each page just to use up space. I demand that you revert all pages that you unfairly reverted to their original state that i fixed in. Thank you. Booshakla 05:44, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

Sorry about that...

I was offline when you posted on my talkpage. While vandalizing your userpage was obviously the wrong thing to do, this is more of a content dispute. I'd love to see what I can do here but I have no idea how golf articles are normally formatted. I'm not sure why Booshakla made those edits, but I will monitor the situation the best I can before doing or saying anything else. Sorry I can't offer more help. -→Buchanan-Hermit/!? 08:51, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

I am curious as to what your definition of Semi-Active is for this page, since you made a lot of changes. The definition used prior to your edits was less than 30 edits in the last 3 months. You have probably identified people who have stopped in the last three months and so have 30+ edits in March or April, but not in May. I have no real preference for what the definition should be, but I am curious, and since I use the page to update my own page (NoSeptember/List of Admins) I like to see some consistency over time in the standards. Also, if keeping track of this kind of stuff interests you, I have a bunch of subpages that may interest you, feel free to look them over and make suggestions (The NoSeptember Admin Project). Thanks, NoSeptember talk 10:38, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

It's no bother at all :-). When someone leaves abruptly, reclassifying them is fine, that edit is often made by the person leaving or someone who notices that they have left. However, the line between active and semi-active is probably debatable and I bet has been discussed in the past. Rick Block runs a script every two months to update the list (see the talk page). I hate to see you exert a lot of effort manually looking up people's contributions when Rick's update will overwrite what you have done. Perhaps a proposal for a redefinition of semi-active should be made on the talk page. If we have an agreed standard, Rick can modify his program for next time. There may be reasons behind the definition he uses now, I suspect they don't want to be too quick to classify people as less than active. It doesn't matter that much to me one way or the other, but I think it would be good to have agreement on the issue. NoSeptember talk 14:15, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
It's gibberish to me, but you can see the script here. NoSeptember talk 14:28, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

Thank you

DGX,

I just wanted to thank you personally for reverting the vandalism on my userpage. It's people like you (and me!) that keep the Wikicreeps from gaining hold of our encyclopedia.

--AndreniW 17:11, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

Well, can you protect my user page? Can I protect my user page? I'm not too sure about that policy, I never really had a use for it (until now...).

WWE Roster

The reason why the subsection Female under RAW was renamed Women's Division was to distinguish between those active in the division and the likes of Lita and Melina who currently only serve as valets. For more, see my talk page and JustMaria's talk page. --JFred 04:12, 30 May 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, but those aren't official names, where the Women's Division on RAW is. --JFred 04:24, 30 May 2006 (UTC)

This is making my head hurt. I've posed this little dilemma over on the WWE roster talk page to see what others have to say about the issue. --JFred 04:52, 30 May 2006 (UTC)

lol, it's not your fault, it's just that it's getting late. Also, I suggest we don't make any more changes to the headings until we get concensus. --JFred 04:56, 30 May 2006 (UTC)

Hi DGX

I have a question. How do I make a 'citation needed' on a section of an article? Buckyball-z 04:32, 30 May 2006 (UTC)

OK. It took me a couple of mminutes, but I got it. Thanks, DGX Buckyball-z 04:51, 30 May 2006 (UTC)

Rex/Merecat

I had a really bad night once with Rex. He essentially created a bunch of socks and stalked me all night. Trying my best to let others handle this one. If it's something really eggregious, I'll remove it, but I'm trying really hard to take a back seat on this one. --Woohookitty(meow) 05:08, 30 May 2006 (UTC)

I definitely agree with you. I used to have a page which chronicled that lovely night. I will reblock his IP though since it's obvious it's static. That I can do. --Woohookitty(meow) 05:28, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
You have no idea. :) Yep. Spent several hours in #wikipedia on IRC trying to end it. It took Kelly Martin, redwolf and a bunch of others. Never again. IP is blocked. --Woohookitty(meow) 05:37, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
Well I know nothing about your past on here, but even if you were a bad guy, people can change. I once almost indefinitely blocked a user named Spum who has since become a pretty good contributor. What I dislike is people like Rex who are given chance after chance and yet, never change. --Woohookitty(meow) 05:57, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
Close to my # of edits? Poor fella! Think I'm over 24,000. I think. --Woohookitty(meow) 06:20, 30 May 2006 (UTC)

Seeking Editor Review Commentary (If You Like)

Hi. In conjunction with my RfA (that you voted on), I have created an editor review, to give people a chance to comment as to ways in which I can branch out or alter my contributions to Wikipedia. An RfA seems to solely focus on how one's temperment and contributions relate to how they might handle administrative powers (and the consensus on that seems to be that I'm not quite ready); the editor review opens things up a little more to a larger focus, and I'd love to hear community feedback in the sense of that larger focus, too. If you feel you've already expressed yourself sufficiently when casting your vote, then by all means don't worry about it, but if any thoughts come to mind or if you'd like to expound upon any suggestions or commentary, it would be appreciated. In any case, I appreciated you taking the time to express your opinion on my RfA, and I thank you for that. — WCityMike (talk • contribs) 19:53, 30 May 2006 (UTC)

RE: User:Јіmbо Wales the doppelganger

Before placing a tag on this page to prevent it from ever being used to impersonate Jimbo, shouldn't the account exist first. (theres no contributions link to the left when you visit that page). DGX 01:13, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

I place the doppelganger-other tag before creating a doppelganger account in case I don't log off in time to avoid the autoblock. This way, I'd show admins that I was just creating a doppelganger so I can get them to un-autoblock me quickly. Some admins have bots that look for certain expressions in newly-created usernames and can block them in less than 10 seconds. --Shultz IV 01:17, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
File:Atlanticpuffin4.jpg Hello DGX. Thank you for your support at my request for adminship which ended at the overwhelming and flattering result of (160/1/0), and leaves me in a position of having to live up to a high standard of community expectation. You can see me in action and observe what then happened as a result. If you need admin assistance, feel free to ask me. Naturally, if I make any procedural mistakes, feel free to point them out. I look forward to working with you in the future, hopeful as an admin. Blnguyen | Have your say!!! 01:50, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

RE: WWE roster (again)

No problem, most of them are not notable enough anyway, like the cameramen, audio/video team, etc. --JFred 02:16, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

I think we can do away with the Surgeons section as they all are not actually employed by WWE. --JFred 02:18, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
No need to confirm Creative Team to me, the news sites regularly update the members names. Looks much better :) --JFred 02:33, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

I removed the cameramen and a few others. Not sure if the costume designers and personal trainers are noteworthy or not so I left them just in case. Feel free to remove any others you think are not notable enough. --JFred 02:41, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

WHY

hi, DGX, i dunno if you will look at the dicussion page of the roster but to let you know if you have i basically said, there's no point arguing about this with her, if she doesnt like something on the page she will change it to how she wants it, it doesnt matter what others think to her. i've had this conversation with her in which she twisted my words around and posted untrue things on that discussion page, all you have to do is look at her edits and you'll see yourself. Lil crazy thing 20:35, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

Reply

hopefully she has come to an agreement, as the page is everyone to edit, not just one persons. Me personally i prefer this format as it finially puts and end to the whole part time, female wrestlers etc etc stuff. But maybe we could have a seperate bit for the referees tho thats the only thing. otherwise i perfer it Lil crazy thing 20:45, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

I think it's fine now as it is, i dunno about the other ones it could start it up again Lil crazy thing 21:05, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

WWE Roster

The headings Male and Female (main rosters) are for wrestlers only. Non-wrestlers should be seperate, otherwise it's too confusing. --JFred 21:57, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, I was thinking of adding either the word Talent or Wrestlers to the Male and Female headings, though I'm not sure which wording is best. --JFred 22:05, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

Maximo's

WWE hasn't made it official, especially them being part of ECW. They should be under Other Inactive at best then. --JFred 22:04, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

Not necessarily, WWE officially confirmed the other names on their website for ECW, plus they are listed under the ECW superstar section on WWE's ECW subsite, Maximo's aren't. --JFred 22:10, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

Hi DGX

I was wondering how many editors there are on Wikipedia all together, all of Wikipedia in all countries. Is there any resource on Wikipedia that can tell me that? And also, is there a page where there is a list of all admins? Thanks, DGX Buckyball-z 02:03, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

King Booker

King isn't really his name, but more of a designation. His name is Booker and he is the King. That's my reasoning anyway. --JFred 02:16, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

Good point. We'll put him under K then. --JFred 03:41, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

Hi again DGX

I have another question. There is an article where only the first word is capitalized. How do I fix this? Buckyball-z 03:15, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

Hey, the example that I noticed was the article: Persistent organic pollutants. How can I change the title of the article so it reads Persistent Organic Pollutants ? Thanks for all your help, btw. Buckyball-z 03:33, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

I checked out the page for moves that I was directed to concerning moving the article Persistent organic pollutants, and the directions are complicated and above my head, and I am very tired right now. Anyhow, all I want to do is change the title so all the words have caps. Buckyball-z 03:53, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

I just made the pops article, and then realized there was an article for pops (with all the words). Oh well, I guess it'll just stay that way for now. Buckyball-z 03:57, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
