Hello Mjwvb. Your edits look as if you are being paid. Paid promotion is an especially egregious type of conflict of interest (COI)
Paid articles should be submitted through the articles for creation process. If you are receiving or expect to receive money for your edits, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post the disclosure on your user page at User:Mjwvb. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Mjwvb|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
.
If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. If you are being paid, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, please do not edit further until you answer this message.
- Ah yes, I'm the owner of Tweddo so there indeed is a COI. Though technically I'm not being paid to write the article. I didn't know I should place a paid tag on my profile for my ownership, so I will do that right now. Anyway, the article is sticking to the facts and features of the subject, and is a starting point for others that want to add information about Tweddo. As I see it is being labeled for speedy deletion, is it not alright this way?
- Hey there! Thanks for the reply. Yes, per WP:COI you're discouraged from editing or creating articles that you have a connection to, paid or unpaid. The article has been tagged for deletion because it doesn't have any sources that state the products importance. (In short: Just because something exists, doesn't mean it gets included.) If you can find reviews or articles that DO reference the product, it would be helpful.
- It may be a case of the product being too new to have information (See WP:TOOSOON). If that's the case, I can always move the article to your draft space for you to edit and resubmit when you're ready, that way it doesn't get deleted. Let me know if you need help. - I'm new to wikipedia editing so I was not really aware about this. Adding this page was simply impulsive without reading all the rules. I simply thought that all information about new entities that could be added to wikipedia would be worth mentioning/posting anyway. The product has just been released, and thus is too new to have external noteworthy information. It barely has any reviews or mentions as of yet, so maybe it is better to move it to the draft space in that case indeed? Mjwvb (talk) 16:50, 30 August 2017 (UTC)mjwvb
- No worries at all, it happens all the time. It looks like the article was deleted, but I'm looking into having it moved into your draftspace. I'll let you know how that goes. PureRED | talk to me | 16:57, 30 August 2017 (UTC)
- All done! It's been moved into your sandbox where it will stay until you're ready to republish. You can reach it by clicking the Sandbox link on the top-right corner, or by clicking here. PureRED | talk to me | 17:03, 30 August 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks for moving it into my sandbox. I'll republish it when it is ready :) Mjwvb (talk) 17:25, 30 August 2017 (UTC)mjwvb
Speedy deletion nomination of Tweddo
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Tweddo requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
