Anachronox

[edit]

Hey, seems people come left and right for scans, eh? IIRC, you gave me a few for the Ganbare Goemon series, which helped incredibly. I guess this time's no different; just curious if you have the time to scan coverage of Anachronox in May/December 1999 and October 2001. If you don't have the time, no problem (I've been horribly inactive because of my own life constraints). Thanks for checking! ZeaLitY [ Talk - Activity ] 02:31, 10 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, it seems that and the help desk is all I get to these days on the 'pedia. Here's your requests. The October 01 review and the December 99 preview. The May 99 preview was part coverage of the Ion Storm's upcoming games. It is here: Ion Storm Review 1 Ion Storm Review 2 --—Mitaphane Contribs | Talk 03:15, 3 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks a ton. This article will be ironclad. I had a cool rumbling on the Chrono Trigger front, too; a translated player's guide section revealed that Gaspar was intended to be the 8th character before being cut. You'd think someone would have told an English-speaking fan that in the last 15 years... ZeaLitY [ Talk - Activity ] 02:06, 4 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, now I'd like to see that. Given how popular the game was, that's crazy no one didn't already hear that. --—Mitaphane Contribs | Talk 21:28, 5 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, popping back in for a quick question now that I'm resuming work on the article: what's the volume and issue number for Next Generation Magazine May 1999? (I was able to google the two other issues.) Thanks! ZeaLitY [ Talk - Activity ] 14:43, 1 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
53 was the issue number for May 99. Next Gen didn't do Volume/Issue until the 2nd lifecycle. --—Mitaphane Contribs | Talk 21:52, 6 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Could you provide the review from around June 27, 2003 from EGM? - The New Age Retro Hippie used Ruler! Now, he can figure out the length of things easily. 18:42, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've looked at the month's around this date and have not found any retro review. I've also taken a look at issues when the game was released (late months of 1994), no review there either. Are you sure this review is in this issue? --—Mitaphane Contribs | Talk 22:02, 24 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Magazine request info

[edit]

Hi Mitaphane, I was just wondering if you could tell me what EGM was discussing in Issue 73 under its "International Outlook" section. If this information is easily available then would you mind editing the contents for issue 73 at the WPVG Reference Library? Or if you just tell me what's in the International Outlook section that's also helpful. If it's a hassle then nevermind. It's not pressing at all. Thanks in advance! -Thibbs (talk) 17:01, 10 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to bug you again, but I was also wondering if you could help me find out what's on page 238 of EGM#113 (December 1998). I ask because I have an EGM article that I'd like to use as a source but I don't know which issue it's from or its date... The topic of the article is the lesser-known Zelda games and its title is "Zelda Oddities: Two Games Link Wants You to Forget... ...And Two He Wishes You'd Seen". If that's the issue then I don't need a scan, just confirmation that it's the right issue. Thanks again. -Thibbs (talk) 04:42, 14 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I've added the details as requested. FYI, it covered the 1995 Tokyo Game Show & Astal. As for the 2nd request, you are correct; that is the correct issue & page number for "Zelda Oddities". --—Mitaphane Contribs | Talk 20:36, 4 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Perfect. Thanks so much for your continued help! -Thibbs (talk) 21:30, 4 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Looking Glass scans

[edit]

Hi, it's me again. In my seemingly never-ending quest to improve Looking Glass articles, I've once again come to the realization that I need your help. In the November 1995 issue of Next Generation Magazine, there's a brief article about Viacom and Looking Glass that I would absolutely love to have in scan form. Also, while I have an archived version of Next Gen's review of British Open Championship Golf, I would really appreciate it if you could scan the print review for me. This is because the online version lacks a score, and because most of the online Next Gen reviews are substantially different from their print counterparts. You don't list the review in the reference library, but I think it should be in the April 1997 issue (at least, going by the date on the web version). Many thanks. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 05:58, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Here's the article. Sadly, it's only a brief mention of the two companies, not anything substantial. I looked for the review for British Open Championship Golf around 4/97, but I couldn't find it. It's possible that the review was an online-only review; it looks like Next-Gen was cramped for reviews so I think some reviews didn't make the cut to print. —Mitaphane Contribs | Talk 14:42, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the quick response! I'd forgotten that I asked about this until just now--I could have sworn this page was on my watchlist. Really sorry. Also, the link you provided appears to have died in the interim, unfortunately. Is there any chance that you could restore it? I'll make sure to watchlist the page to avoid any more screw-ups on my part. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 09:25, 22 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Try it again. I just tested it. If that doesn't work you can get it from the this page directly. --—Mitaphane Contribs | Talk 15:38, 23 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The direct link still doesn't work for me, but I was able to reach the article through the list. Huge thanks. This information will be more valuable than you realize. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 21:59, 23 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Good to hear. I just now realized the extension was missing from the link. -- —Mitaphane Contribs | Talk 23:36, 23 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
