I agreed with the prior reviewer that it doesn't appear to pass GNG. The other one did. My comment: "We need reliable secondary sources about this position." Please use WP:RS to learn more about reliable secondary sources and feel free to ask more questions at WP:TEAHOUSE. Have a good one and thanks for editing Wikipedia. Missvain (talk) 00:40, 21 July 2022 (UTC)
I wanted to ask you a quick question am I allowed to use the same sources as the previous page because the sources on the previous page have chair pro tem in it 2603:8001:2902:64F4:A836:5401:E3A5:F1E4 (talk) 20:19, 21 July 2022 (UTC)
Feel free - just make sure there are more secondary reliable sources than anything else! We only try to use primary sources as..."garnish" for articles. Missvain (talk) 20:34, 21 July 2022 (UTC)

Request on 11:42:28, 22 July 2022 for assistance on AfC submission by Yehoshua Maor

Thank you very much for taking the time to review the proposed page about Schulamith_Chava_Halevy.

I believe that many of the sources already given on the page meet the necessary criteria.

  • Her poetry books have been reviewed at length in prominent Hebrew literary journals (Moznaim, Iton 77, Shevo, Pseifas), as included in references 15-17.
  • As indicated in reference 15, one of her books was the subject of a scholarly talk at Anais do X Congresso da ALADAA in 2000.
  • As mentioned in Further Reading, her poetry was the subject of a chapter in a scholarly book, Mystical Vertigo: Contemporary Kabbalistic Hebrew Poetry Dancing Over the Divide.
  • Two of her poems are featured in the book of readings and analysis by a well-known literary critic listed in reference 19.
  • Her translation of Portuguese prayers was reviewed positively in the book review cited in reference 14.
  • The Chicago Tribune article from 1996 was largely about a public lecture of hers and her work.
  • The Dutch newspaper feature about her and her work.
  • I added links to a three-part series of in-depth radio interviews with her and colleagues and informants, but that may not add to notability.

What more would help?

Yehoshua Maor (talk) 11:42, 22 July 2022 (UTC)

@Yehoshua Maor - Are any of the sources aside from the primary sources available online? Because we cannot view them, we don't know what they are and it would be nice to be able to read them. The one's we could access are unavailable YouTube videos and a primary source called Yakum.org. None of those establish eligibility.
The others might, but without being able to review them we can't confirm. Reviews and features can establish notability, but, those that are only interviews and her work being featured in books are not able to establish notability.
Feel free to leave a comment on the talk page of your submission explaining the sources. I will not be re-reviewing your submission. Another editor will. Also you can ask further questions about notability and sourcing, etc, at WP:TEAHOUSE.
And of course, if you are affiliated or associated with the subject you're writing about (I mention that because most Articles for Creation submissions often are), please review WP:COI and post on your userpage that you are.

Sherwood Battle Brockwell

Hello Missvian, I see that you have already received messages very similar to this one today so I will keep it short. The recent draft you declined for Sherwood Battle Brockwell, I understand your viewpoint that there are too many primary references, but is the article itself worth keeping or trying to save? I honestly hope but don't know if the subject meets GNG, and I wanted to ask for your personal opinion. I created the draft awhile ago when I was much newer to Wikipedia, and wasn't aware of nearly as much policy as I do now. I truly do appreciate you reviewing the article, and I hope it was at least an interesting read. Thanks for reviewing! Johnson524 (talk) 14:31, 22 July 2022 (UTC)

Johnson524 - I don't know. It's not necessarily my "job" to do the research to see if sourcing exists that would help a subject meet general notability guidelines. As I wrote in my review, the NCpedia is a reliable source you can utilize. If there are news articles about him (perhaps Newspapers.com is a good place to check, sometimes newspapers post obituaries, too) or books about him or profiles in books (check Google books). I would just put more time into it and see if you can find WP:RS to support the submission. But, when the primary sources outweigh reliable secondary sources, it could likely be nominated for deletion and deleted if the article is published. I specialize in biographies about interesting individuals, so, feel free to ping me once the submission is expanded with reliable sources and I'll take a look. I wouldn't give up. Feel free to ask additional questions at WP:TEAHOUSE. Thanks for editing Wikipedia. Missvain (talk) 14:35, 22 July 2022 (UTC)
Thank you for the speedy reply and helpful information, I'll see what I can find and ping you when it's done. Thanks! Johnson524 (talk) 14:39, 22 July 2022 (UTC)

Draft:Alex Mieza (Taoist master)

Hello Missvian, first, thank you for reviewing the article Alex Mieza (Taoist master). Alex Mieza represents an ancient Taoist religious tradition, therefore I as an editor undertook the task to write this article. Kindly advise what needs to be revised in the new version of the article. Thank you! Sincerely Qigong4wellness (talk) 19:28, 24 July 2022 (UTC)

Draft - Mara E. Rudman

I submitted a biography draft of a well-known personality Mara E Rudman, but after submission, I found that it says cite your sources using footnotes. I have even used footnotes and other external links very carefully, I saw that you have commented about the draft that cite your sources using footnotes, since I can see that I have used the footnotes correctly as defined, can you please help me out with the correction, would be thankful. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Elisafrag (talkcontribs) 01:05, 26 July 2022 (UTC)

@Elisafrag - As my statement on the page says, please remove any material about the subject that doesn't have a reliable secondary source to back it up. Wikipedia could be sued if biographies of living people are perfectly cited. When the next Wikipedian reviews it, if you submit it again, they may turn it down again because of that reason. Doesn't matter how "well-known" the person is (I am not familiar with them).
So, to recap: if there isn't a reliable secondary source for a sentence, remove it.
Thank you! Missvain (talk) 16:56, 26 July 2022 (UTC)

Francis Najafi

Hi, Missvain. Thanks for the comment you left on the draft that I submitted earlier. On the matter of WP:SIGCOV, here are three links to articles that made significant coverages about him; 1 2 3. LittleNirvana (talk) 13:31, 26 July 2022 (UTC)

@LittleNirvana - Thanks! The third source is a press release and not able to be used. Feel free to update your submission when you're ready and re-submit. Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia! Missvain (talk) 14:23, 26 July 2022 (UTC)
Thanks for the advice, Missvain. LittleNirvana (talk) 19:12, 26 July 2022 (UTC)

Draft:Marcia_Griffin

Greetings. Thank you for comments on this draft. I'm trying to determine why citations from C-Span, Forbes, MarketWatch, and other mainstream sources fail to meet citation guidelines in this case. C-Span is THE well-established source for Congressional hearings and events, which is this bio's primary notability claim. Thanks in advance for your assistance. Danceswithedits (talk) 20:11, 27 July 2022 (UTC)

@Danceswithedits - C-SPAN is a primary source. Being interviewed on C-SPAN or having a congressional hearing aired that one appears on does not inherently make one notable. Forbes content by "contributors" are pay for their articles to be published. That makes it a primary source because there is no editorial oversight by Forbes. The MarketWatch citation is a press release, it's written on the page. Everything else is either a government page, a bio (like the real estate publications), brief mentions, promotional pieces celebrating her, etc.
As I mentioned in my comments - feel free to look at WP:RS to learn more about reliable secondary sources.
Any additional questions, please ask at WP:TEAHOUSE - they can provide you additional feedback and answer your questions.
Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. And as always, if you are the subject or you are affiliated with the subject in anyway, please mention that on your Wikipdia userpage due to conflict of interest. Thank you! Missvain (talk) 20:16, 27 July 2022 (UTC)
I respectfully disagree. Very few citizens have the honor of being invited to appear before Congress once, let alone multiple times, to testify on important national issues. Minority housing issued during COVID and other economic periods of distress are absolutely vital and very few citizens are deemed experts on that issue to the level that Congress requests their testimony. That seems like the very definition of notability by any standards. Regarding Forbes, virtually all journalistic contributors are paid. Forbes is an internationally respected financial journal and household name. My Wiki page notes that I am a paid freelancer. Danceswithedits (talk) 23:08, 27 July 2022 (UTC)

Hi Missvain

Hi Missvain I added 3 respected magazines in middle East and two movies and shows database websites as references and by the way I can give you a lot of articles here in wikipedia English that depend on one or two references that I used exactly, without moving them to draft space. I feel there is something wrong here.. All the respect.. Kareem4kareem (talk) 02:57, 27 July 2022 (UTC)

@Kareem4kareem - Great! If you have that many reliable secondary sources, please feel free to improve your submission and resubmit and my fellow reviewers will take a look. Sharing them here with me would not be helpful. Improving your submission would be. Cheers. Missvain (talk) 19:08, 27 July 2022 (UTC)

Thanks a lot for replying. I edited the article the way it should be and added the references and citations and I hope it gonna be accepted.. Thanks for the support. All the best. Kareem4kareem (talk) 07:26, 28 July 2022 (UTC)

Sandbox - Giving Circle

Hi, Missvain, I noticed you created Colleen Willoughby's Wikipedia article and was curious if you'd be open to collaborating on the Giving circle article. I noticed the article has a flag, lacks quality sources, and has too many external links and further reading entries. I drafted a new proposed sandbox to address those issues, but I won't edit the article myself due to my COI. Appreciate any feedback or collaboration in advance. --Chefmikesf (talk) 22:19, 28 July 2022 (UTC)

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Alabama–Coushatta Tribe of Texas, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bingo.

Education for Employment

Hi Missvain!

Thank you for your comprehensive feedback! It really helped me understand what my draft EFE was missing. I've compiled a list of secondary sources as instructed and I'm ready to resubmit for approval. Is there a way for me to pull this sources together in a table that goes with my submission to make it easier for you to assess notability?

Thank you!

Replaceable fair use File:Kauffmann Memorial Detail.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Kauffmann Memorial Detail.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Animalparty! (talk) 04:35, 31 July 2022 (UTC)

Draft:Mahmoud Shehabi Khorasani

Hi, Missvain, Thank you for comments on this draft. I'm trying to determine why citations, for example: This book :

[Biography, scientific and cultural services of the late Professor Mahmoud Shehabi Khorasani, Association of Cultural Works and Honors.

Or, this article written in one of IRAN’s largest national and quotidian newspapers:

[Mahmoud Shehabi by Ali Najafi and Jalal Rafi: Ettelaat newspaper, national edition, Wednesday, August 23, 2009, Tehran, Iran [ https://www.ettelaat.com/?p=450768 ],

Or, another publication in the same journal : [Commemoration of the late Professor Mahmoud Shehabi: Ettelaat newspaper, national edition, Saturday, January 21, 2017, Tehran, Iran [ https://www.ettelaat.com/mobile/?p=131706&device=phone ]

Or, these important literary magazine of Iran likes:

Mehrnameh Magazine No. 48 August 2016, Pages 90 to 106, Tehran, Iran.

or Interview with Dr. Ali Akbar Shahabi: Kayhan Farhangi magazine, 4th of July 1987, page 5, Teheran, Iran.

and other mainstream sources fail to meet citation guidelines in this case.

So,I would ask you if possible to reconsider your judgment concerning this Draft Thanks Docteur Mansour Chehabi (talk) 08:33, 1 August 2022 (UTC)

@Docteur Mansour Chehabi - Feel free to resubmit for reviewers to take a look at! Missvain (talk) 14:50, 1 August 2022 (UTC)
@ Missvain- Ok, Thanks for your response, I just re-submitted it,so, thank you in advance for rechecking my sources and revising your judgment if possible, note that the same sources are accepted in the French and Persian versions of this biography Docteur Mansour Chehabi (talk) 16:52, 1 August 2022 (UTC)

DYK for Suleman Raza

On 7 August 2022, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Suleman Raza, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Suleman Raza was coincidently awarded an MBE and the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service—which is equivalent to an MBE—at the 2022 Birthday Honours? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Suleman Raza. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Suleman Raza), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

I noticed that you recently put a COI tag on this page. Who do you think is the "major" contributor who has the conflict of interest? And why do you think that? Give me an example of something in the article that appears to be written with a bias? All of the information has been properly referenced by independent third parties. What would you recommend to be changed in order to remove the COI tag? BuffaloBob (talk) 01:53, 12 August 2022 (UTC)

User:BuffaloBob - The fact the photographs of the subject were taken by his partner (who is mentioned in the article) and were placed into the article is a clear conflict of interest. Whether it was she who did it, or someone who knows her. Missvain (talk) 16:36, 12 August 2022 (UTC)
You are correct the photographer was the partner of the subject of the article. But, here is how that developed: I created the article and decided that photos would enhance the article. I contacted the "partner" who is a professional photographer and invited her to contribute photos to Wikimedia. I had no prior contact with the photographer and no one has any financial interest in this page. She contributed the photos to Wikimedia and I used them in the article. BuffaloBob (talk) 17:56, 12 August 2022 (UTC)
Per https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Conflict_of_interest#Supplying_photographs_and_media_files
=== Supplying photographs and media files ===
Editors with a COI are encouraged to upload high-quality media files that are appropriately licensed for Wikipedia and that improve our coverage of a subject. For more information, follow the instructions at Commons. In some cases, the addition of media files to an article may be an uncontroversial edit that editors with a COI can make directly, but editors should exercise discretion and rely on talk pages when images may be controversial or promotional. If the addition of an image is challenged by another editor, it is controversial.
So, whats the problem here BuffaloBob (talk) 13:40, 13 August 2022 (UTC)
In addition per: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:COI#When-to-use
"Like the other neutrality-related tags, if you place this tag, you should promptly start a discussion on the article's talk page to explain what is non-neutral about the article. Be careful not to violate the policy against WP:OUTING users who have not publicly self-disclosed their identities on the English Wikipedia". You did not do this! BuffaloBob (talk) 14:07, 13 August 2022 (UTC)
Can you please stop badgering me? This is getting weird and disturbingly aggressive and I don't feel comfortable furthering this discussion. Feel free to remove the COI tag if you don't think it's relevant. It's not a big deal. You seem to be taking this article very personal. Please review Wikipedia:Ownership of content for some insight into that and why that can be problematic. I would appreciate it if you would back off, stop badgering me, and please assume good faith. I'd rather avoid having to escalate this. So please just go back to editing and improving Wikipedia. Thank you. Missvain (talk) 17:23, 14 August 2022 (UTC)

Hello again Missvain. After adding around 5,000 more bytes of information, including bringing the citation count of the draft from 5 to 17, I wanted to ask if you could re-review my draft for Sherwood Battle Brockwell, which you declined nearly one month ago. I believe your main issue with the article (being notably, specifically not enough citations to claim notability) has been resolved by the recent additions of newspaper citations with the help Newspaper.com, which you recommended (thank you so much for recommending that perfect site!) The newspapers discussing him are from across the east coast from North Carolina to Pennsylvania, and as an added benefit also brought to my attention more information which could be used in the article. If you have any other comments or concerns, please let me know, as I would be more than happy to do anything else this article needs to be accepted onto the mainspace. Thank you again for your time and help! Johnson524 (Talk!) 20:17, 17 August 2022 (UTC)

Hi Missvain. You declined the draft Sachiyo Ito back in July, correctly in my opinion. Following a comment by its main author (yes, it was an autobiography) at the Teahouse the other day, I took a look at it and have now tried to tidy up the references and content. The subject is clearly notable and I think the current version of the draft would be acceptable for mainspace. Would you be good enough to take another look? Thanks. Hi there. I thought this proposed new Affiliate might interest you. No worries if you're busy with other things. Rosiestep (talk) 16:24, 12 October 2022 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Category:2020 wildfires in New Mexico indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself. Liz Read! Deletion review for James_Chapman_(journalist)

Hi Missvain. As you suggested, I added some extra resources that talk about Simon Ryan. They should be relevant enough, considering they talk about him and he is a public figure. Hopefully, that should help. Thanks Andreabbo (talk) 16:42, 1 September 2022 (GST)

2 Ekre

This page was deleted here. The film is also titled Radd Ekre per the newfound sources. The discussion did not talk about any of these sources (here, here, here, here, here, here and here). The sources include a music review of the film. It would be healthy to either reopen the discussion or allow the page to be recreated (if deletion review is needed).
