Speedy deletion nomination of Fatemeh Shams

[edit]

Hello Missuse,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Fatemeh Shams for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. LS1979 (talk) 15:13, 13 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

The article Fatemeh Shams has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article, which appeared to be about a real person, individual animal, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. See WP:V. NawlinWiki (talk) 15:36, 13 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The article Fatemeh Shams has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Fatemeh Shams requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Your article

[edit]

I saw on the talk page a message I interpret to mean that you are still trying to work on your article, so I've moved it to User:Missuse/Fatemeh Shams in order to allow you to work on the article in peace. When you are ready to put it out on the main page, go to Biography's of living people page and ask them if the article is up to Wikipedia standards for inclusion. TomStar81 (Talk) 19:31, 13 December 2014 (UTC) Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Fatemeh Shams a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.[reply]

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut-and-paste-move repair holding pen. Thank you. Fatemeh Shams

[edit]

Hi! Thank you for sorting Fatemeh Shams' article out for us. You might also like to read WP:Referencing for beginners to explore how to correctly format references. The best way to work on articles is to make sure they are in conformity with guidelines and so on as they go live, or use WP:Articles for creation to get them reviewed before they enter the 'mainspace' (as the general article section on Wikipedia is commonly known). If you want to submit an article as a draft, AFC has that guidance on that project page, but in this instance it would be improper to remove the deletion template until an administrator has made the necessary arrangements to repair the article's history. User:G S Palmer and User:TomStar81 would be the best people to talk to regarding what needs to be done before it is removed. LS1979 (talk) 21:46, 13 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Missuse, please slow down. As the template warning I left above explains, please don't move a page by cutting and pasting it to another one. This loses all of the revision history. If you had just waited, User:Missuse/Fatemeh Shams could have been moved to Fatemeh Shams in good time. As it is, you've created sort of a mess, what with continuing to blank the draft and so forth. If you just wait a little while longer, an administrator will come along and sort the whole situation out. Thanks, G S Palmer (talkcontribs) 22:02, 13 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
