Godwin's law to Godwin's Law

I noticed your capitalization change of Lovejoy's law to Lovejoy's Law.

I did some research, and the correct form should be upscale capitalization, you are totally correct.

Could you please move Godwin's law to Godwin's Law ?

I can't do it, gotta be an admin, due to prior redirects/page moves.

Thank you,

Cirt (talk) 22:06, 31 October 2015 (UTC)

Will do; it makes more sense to capitalize "Law". All the best, Miniapolis 22:36, 31 October 2015 (UTC)
Definitely agreed, and there's precedent in related categories. Thank you !!! — Cirt (talk) 03:21, 1 November 2015 (UTC)

Allegra Versace

If you want to, you can take a look at the article about Allegra Versace. That article is this weeks TAFI.--BabbaQ (talk) 22:13, 2 November 2015 (UTC)

Sorry, Babba, but I'm very busy right now. List it at WP:GOCE/REQ; although I work from the top of the list (the oldest articles) other editors, such as Corinne, sometimes copyedit more recent additions. All the best, Miniapolis 00:13, 3 November 2015 (UTC)

Belgium national football team

I kindly beg you to stop making edits the way you are doing it now. Here and there you make good suggestions for alternative ways of writing a sentence, but too many times you change deliberately chosen words and facts. More careful copy-editing is required. Thanks for the attempts, though. Regards, Kareldorado (talk) 21:11, 20 October 2015 (UTC)

I'm copyediting the article (or was) according to the Manual of Style; however, if you're dissatisfied with my work I'll move on. There's a reason that article is the oldest one on WP:GOCE/REQ; it's long, and while the prose is pretty good it was apparently written by a non-native English speaker (which was implied in the GA review). Sounds like you need another copyeditor, and good luck with FA (where the reviewers are quite picky about prose). Miniapolis 22:14, 20 October 2015 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) Hi Miniapolis, after a brief glance I thought your edits improved the article's prose and the requester could easily have corrected minor points like "biennial" to "biannual" (an oversight I'm sure) without reverting the whole shebang. I'll take the request and I'll see how we go. Cheers, Baffle gab1978 (talk) 22:44, 20 October 2015 (UTC)
I cannot tell a lie; I changed "biannual" to "biennial" because I thought it was a normality-normalcy thing, but I'm more familiar with American English and after checking my dictionary (which I do frequently when copyediting) I see both are correct. Thanks for taking it on, Baffle, and I hope you do better; the GA review suggested a copyedit, but I sometimes come across editors who take them personally. Glad you're back, and hope you enjoyed your wikibreak. All the best, Miniapolis 22:55, 20 October 2015 (UTC)
Thanks, I had an enjoyable week away from all things internet-related. The prose in this article seems awkwardly-written and it's easy to misinterpret unclear text; I'm two paras in and I've already scratched my head. Hopefully there aren't too many stumbling blocks here. I've asked that you're credited as co-c/e in the archives anyway. Cheers, Baffle gab1978 (talk) 23:31, 20 October 2015 (UTC)
Please don't bother about the credit; I don't care about that, and if you see it through you'll have done most of the work anyway. It's good to get away from the net; when I'm away, I don't miss it :-). Glad you had fun. Thanks again and all the best, Miniapolis 23:37, 20 October 2015 (UTC)
Hi Miniapolis, I am sorry for the rude reverting of the entire 'shabang'. This was no personal offense. I was relatively short in time and want to give a more detailed comment: several things you proposed are worth reconciliation - and I thank you for these - , many a couple not. I should check one by one which to keep and which not. Kareldorado (talk) 06:04, 21 October 2015 (UTC)
By the way, the article is of a perfect size (see the Wikipedia page on article size), and I don't bother that it kept longer to find copyeditors to take a look at it. Kareldorado (talk) 06:04, 21 October 2015 (UTC)
True, I ain't native English speaker, but there are several things that I do incorporate on purpose or not. I avoid the regular use of "-ing", try to vary in word usage,... Kareldorado (talk) 06:04, 21 October 2015 (UTC)
That's okay, although it took you much less time to revert my edits than it took me to make them. Baffle gab1978, an excellent copyeditor, is working on the article now; keep in mind that there was a reason the GA reviewer recommended a copyedit, and I figure that's the only reason it ended up on WP:GOCE/REQ. I don't know how much experience you have with the FAC process, but an absolute (although unwritten) requirement is the flexibility to make changes as needed during the review process—even if you disagree with them. What I don't understand is why a non-native English speaker would second-guess a native speaker. Anyway, good luck and all the best. Miniapolis 13:25, 21 October 2015 (UTC)
Once again: sorry for the radical reverts - I am grateful for the effort you did and do plan to incorporate some suggestions you made, they were not in vain. Know that I perfectly agree that this article needed to be taken to GOCE! I was mostly bothered by Toby Alderweireld's description as 'striker', the change between 'biannually' and 'biennially' and the drastic changes in the descriptions under the figures that could barely be better. Many of the textual changes you made were a lot better. I am busy IRL but soon or later will implement some of your suggestions with thanks to your work this week. Regards, Kareldorado (talk) 20:00, 22 October 2015 (UTC)
Hi Baffle, with some deep shame I have to admit I overreacted since most of Miniapolis' edits were helpful indeed. The little time I had at that moment and the view of a couple of (unintentional) changes in content made me flip out, but now I re-integrate most of his edits. You too, thanks for the bright copyediting. Wikipedia indeed needs native English speakers to get optimally smooth texts. Keep up the good work! Cheers, Kareldorado (talk) 20:23, 23 October 2015 (UTC)

Hi, I've implemented most of your changes now; they greatly improved the article's readability (clearness and conciseness). Be my guest to adapt the other sections. Kareldorado (talk) 08:30, 31 October 2015 (UTC)

Thanks, but I'm working on other articles. Good luck and all the best, Miniapolis 13:15, 31 October 2015 (UTC)
Ok, thanks anyway. Cheers, Kareldorado (talk) 08:33, 1 November 2015 (UTC)
Hi, I just nominated Belgium national football team as featured article candidate, which probably would not have been the case yet without the prose improvements you provided. You can follow the review process here, leave comments whenever you like. Regards, Kareldorado (talk) 11:16, 21 November 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for letting me know. Good luck and all the best, Miniapolis 14:20, 21 November 2015 (UTC)

Hi Miniapolis,

How are you doing today? I trust you are doing fine. Could you please help with copy editing on the above article? Thanks in anticipation. Wikigyt@lk to M£ 12:48, 26 November 2015 (UTC)

Sorry, but as you see on the top of this page I don't copyedit on demand because it's ... well, too demanding :-). List it on the Guild of Copy Editors request page and you'll get a good copyedit, from me or someone else. All the best, Miniapolis 01:58, 29 November 2015 (UTC)
