Concerns with User:FoCuSandLeArN
I've raised some concerns with FoCuSandLeArN's copy edits over at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors/Backlog elimination drives/March 2013. I don't know the best way to handle this, but I think all of his copy edits will need to be reviewed and the template either replaced or the article fixed. Ryan Vesey 22:38, 31 March 2013 (UTC)

Copy-edit
Thank you for your copy-edit on Huma Qureshi. It is looking one level up. You know, you are are a fantastic editor. I respect you a lot. Meanwhile, I'm thinking that would you please take a look at Parineeti Chopra (not listed at GoCE). I think it need a thorough copy edit. If you could give a quick copy-edit to that one. I would be grateful to you. Thanks again.Prashant talk 03:00, 3 April 2013 (UTC)

March 2013 CE word count
Hello, I was wondering how my word count was calculated for the recently ended March drive. On my talk page my words seem to have been counted as being 22,772 but I copy edited three bonus articles (3,091 + 769 + 10,658) equaling 14,518 words. Multiply that by 2 and add the rollover words (995) gives a total of 30,031 words. I remember reading that, "Articles tagged {{copyedit}} in February, March and April 2012, and all requests, will receive a bonus score of 50% over and above the article's word count." Please let me know if I made a mistake in my math or maybe I'm not familiar with the rules. Thanks! - tucoxn\talk 09:03, 4 April 2013 (UTC)
- Hi. We (Torchiest, actually—gotta give credit where it's due) use a script to calculate the word counts, which minimizes pilot error (to which I'm prone :-)). The bonus is 50 percent, not 100, so the multiplier is 1.5 and not 2. Thanks again for your help and all the best, Miniapolis 13:05, 4 April 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for your explanation. I just have to work harder next time! - tucoxn\talk 14:14, 4 April 2013 (UTC)

Wikify
Hello Miniapolis! Hope you're ok. Could you be so kind and have a quick look at some of the articles I've wikified for the current drive and tell me if you find any editing faults? Much appreciated. FoCuSandLeArN (talk) 22:08, 7 April 2013 (UTC)
- Hi—all good here and hope the same with you. Your wikified articles are very good; I miss the tool they used to have that gave editors a random article to wikify. Adirondack lean-to was also tagged as an {{orphan}}; while strictly speaking you don't have to de-orphan as part of wikifying, I find the tasks similar enough (wikifying adds outgoing links, and de-orphaning adds incoming ones) that I usually take care of both at once (for me, happiness is being able to remove maintenance tags :-)). The explanation of how to de-orphan at WP:Orphan is a bit complicated, but I've found that the easiest way is to find a similar topic and add a link to the orphaned article to its "See also" section (you've hit the jackpot if you can add a link to a navbox, but that doesn't happen very often). To de-orphan Adirondack lean-to I nosed around for a suitable article, found Lean-to and created a see-also section with the link (one incoming link is considered to de-orphan an article, so it's not too time-consuming). Have fun and all the best, Miniapolis 02:43, 8 April 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you very much! I've done that a few times in the past. Will heed your suggestion and start doing that more often; those orphan tags are annoying! Regards, FoCuSandLeArN (talk) 12:30, 8 April 2013 (UTC)

Re: Operation Winter '94
Hi! Thank you for taking time and effort to improve the article. At the moment, the article is undergoing an A-class review at Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/Assessment/Operation Winter '94. I'm asked by a reviewer there to introduce a bit more information in the lead, so if that's alright, I'd like to ask you to revisit the lead once that's done. Thanks!--Tomobe03 (talk) 16:29, 12 April 2013 (UTC)
- Sure, and thanks for the kind words; just let me know when you want the lead rechecked. Good luck and all the best, Miniapolis 17:04, 12 April 2013 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for April 17
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Atmospheric ghost lights, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ja (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Australian Honours System
Just want to find out your justification for the move the Orders, decorations, and medals of Australia to Australian honours system. There was a lively debate on the talk page, a couple of very vocal views but the support and oppose was pretty evenly spread. There did not seem to be consensus for the move. Furthermore, the shere number of other country articles of a similar name would imply a wiki wide consenus in favour of the old name. Cheers. --Oliver Nouther (talk) 16:21, 20 April 2013 (UTC)
- Although WP:CRITERIA recommends conciseness in article titles and local consensus does not trump article-title policy, on further investigation you may have a point; I'll mention your suggestion on the talk page and gauge the response before moving it back (BTW, many of those ribbon images should be moved to Commons). All the best, Miniapolis 16:36, 20 April 2013 (UTC)

- Hey, would you please copy-edit my new article. I'm working on, 7 Khoon Maaf (an under developed article). I am expanding it a bit and correcting sources and rephrasing it. A nice copy edit will help on its GA. Whole day, I'll be working on it. You could edit from tomorrow till i complete it. Thanks.Prashant talk 09:55, 20 April 2013 (UTC)
- I don't like to copyedit articles which are still under development, but let me know when you're done with it (however, I'm very busy at the moment with other things) and I'll do what I can. Miniapolis 14:23, 20 April 2013 (UTC)
- Hey, I'm done with the article. As I told you earlier, the article was a stub. Now, it is well developed. Please, now you can copy edit. Its all done.Prashant talk 16:18, 20 April 2013 (UTC)
