Daytime TV article

You guys are so confused. I recently moved to Jax from California. I originate from Connecticut. I have a 14 year old daughter and there is no way in hell I will send her to that school. The point is that no matter what the reason for naming this school after this guy, the fact remains he was involved with the KKK and a public, federally funded school thinks its o.k. in 2007 to name a school after someone with that in their background. If I was a black student there I would be ashamed of myself for attending. I would deny going there. What shocks me is that it still is named after him. In order for my daughter not to go, I lied about our address and even got a friend to notarize a statement saying I live with them just so my child could attend another school. Thats how far and then some I am willing to go because no way in HELL am I going to condone the namesake of the school by having her go there regardlsess of school codes and Board of Education rules. If more people in the area felt as strongly as I do, that school wouldn't be carrying that name now. What NEEDS to be done is tear the school down, erect a new and improved campus, named after a positive role model who believed in the rights of all races and in peace not war. This makes it clear how Loooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggggggggggggg of a way we have to go with racism in this country and just how acceptable and blatant it really is. Its 2007 people! We ought not have a public, federally funded school named after a member of the KKK. WAKE UP PEOPLE!

Nathan B. Forrest High School

your welcome. i feel that some of the things you wrote are incorrect. i am black and i graduated from forrest last year. the school was not named after him becuase he was the founder of the Klu Klux. it was named after him becuase he fought for the south aswell as Robert E. Lee and other generals. i wish you would stop saying it was named after him becuase he was the founder becuase it brings shame to people. ecspecially blacks. it says, clear as day, that it is named after Nathan Bedford Forrest, the first Grand Wizard of the KKK. it shoud say it was named after Nathan Bedford Forrest, a mighty general who fought for the south during the civil war. then it should metion the FULL part of him being associated with the KKK. If the story is not revised by Sunday Dec 10, 2006 then im going to reedit it. point blank.

Maybe you dont understand what im trying to say. when people read your article saying it is named after the founder of the KKK it offends people. escpecially blacks. Nathan B. Just out of curiosity, were the concerns about the name the ones mentioned on my talk page and the military brat talk pages? Or has somebody brought the name of the article up for discussion elsewhere? EG an RfC? As for notifying you when I put it up for FA... will do. I'm sooo sick of reverting everything he does, and sometimes I don't revert because I know he'll just revert back and then we'll reach the 3RR and I might get in trouble (because SOME of it isn't against the rules per se, but just looks incredibly bad.) Right...I was a bit suspicious about how one person could be such an apparent polymath. Now I think I know how: Compare the recent edits to Illuminati with the text of Myron Fagan's The Illuminati and the Council on Foreign Relations. The predictable is, to me, essentially boring, so I've taken Yrgh's user page off my watchlist. This is just a secondary, special purpose account and my range of interests when using it does not extend to soap operas and gay porn stars. Have you tried the "show preview" button?

In looking at your contributions history, I notice that virtually all the last 100 edits were on a single article; others have pointed out that using the "show preview" button for checking edits of just a few words is a good approach that keeps the page history from becoming unnecessarily cluttered. Category:Military brat

Well, somebody beat me to the category of military brat, but I went through last night and updated all of the brats on the List of famous military brats to have the category on their page. Well, the category has already been nominated for deletion. The reasoning is because it is a "non-neutral" term and parental occupation is irrelevant. Thus, I'm letting people who have contributed to the Military brat article know so that they can support keeping the category. Hi Mike. I too thought about adding the information about Crossroads to the Coronation Street article, but I decided not to as I do not think it adds all that much to the article. I believe it important to speak of Crossroads as the only real 'rival' soap at the time, and would suggest cutting it down to a short sentence such as "Crossroads, an ITV daytime soap, saw a marked increase in viewer number at this time." I don't see the relevance since Crossroads was a daytime soap and Coronation Street was primetime - there was no competition within timeslots and any increase in viewers may well be unlinked. Thanks for your support in my not-so-recent RfA, which succeeded with a final tally of (97/4/4)! I've never been able to accept compliments gracefully, and the heavy support from this outstanding community left me at a complete loss for words -- so, a very belated thank you for all of your kind words. Just discovered this edit of yours, [2]. I know you offered a retraction of sorts but I wanted to let you know that sort of comment isn't really useful on Wikipedia. We all do it, but try and make a conscious effort not to send something straight away, read it a few times and consider the impact. It usually works for me. I hope that helps. I have no idea how that happened -- I was deleting a long list of cross-space redirects that another user had tagged. I do not remember the Ga Tech article being on there, and it doesn't show that the user who tagged the redirects edited it. But there I am on the deletion log.
