Speedy deletion of GiveMeTheSun
[edit]A tag has been placed on GiveMeTheSun requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. -- Darth Mike (join the dark side) 05:01, 22 February 2009 (UTC)

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from GiveMeTheSun, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. -- Darth Mike (join the dark side) 05:23, 22 February 2009 (UTC)

I have nominated Manchester United 1-4 Liverpool (14 March 2009), an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Manchester United 1-4 Liverpool (14 March 2009). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.
Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Shadowjams (talk) 07:14, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
Hi Mike. Thanks for that info on the talk page. Do you know Spanish, and if so, could you and Paso (the Spanish Beatles discography editor) help us out with this project? It really would be nice if you both could. Thanks. Best, --Discographer (talk) 10:08, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
- Mike, read my note I left you on that talk page, please. Thanks. Best, --Discographer (talk) 10:31, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
- Sure, but leave me example on my talk page first, please Mike, then you have my blessing. --Discographer (talk) 20:33, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
- Mike, I think the maxi-singles should not be moved, though I agree with other appearances being moved. Best, --Discographer (talk) 23:09, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
- Mike, very important the B-sides stay in. Most discographies don;t have them shown, but then again, they're not Paul McCartney either. Best, --Discographer (talk) 23:49, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
- Hmmm, interesting... I'm speechless. When you're done with this, might you want to improve The Cure's discography. Best, --Discographer (talk) 20:12, 3 October 2009 (UTC)

Paul McCartney discography
[edit]Your major revision to Paul McCartney discography was significantly flawed. The Beatles information should not be duplicated in McCartney's solo/Wings discography. The maxi-singles should not be removed to a separate article, etc. Why not discuss your goals on the talk page and gain consensus about some of these changes before proceeding? — John Cardinal (talk) 12:33, 4 October 2009 (UTC)

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Up and Coming Tour. Wikimedia Stories Project
[edit]Aloha!
My name is Victor and I work with the Wikimedia Foundation, the non-profit organization that supports Wikipedia. We're chronicling the inspiring stories of the Wikipedia community around the world, including those from readers, editors, and donors. Stories are absolutely essential for any non-profit to persuade new people to support the cause, and we know the vast network of people who use Wikipedia have so much to share.
I find stories that drive our annual fundraising efforts. It's important to convey the incredible diversity of people who've come to rely upon Wikipedia every day.
I'd really like the opportunity to interview you to tell your story, with the possibility of using it in our materials, on our community websites, or as part of this year’s fundraiser to encourage others to support Wikipedia.
I will be in Buenos Aires from the 10th - 11th of March 2012.
I'm hoping you will elaborate on your story with me. Please let me know if you're inclined to take part in the Wikipedia Stories Project!
Thank you,
Victor Grigas

Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Mike-hilal. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Mike-hilal~enwiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name. If you think you might own all of the accounts with this name and this message is in error, please visit Special:MergeAccount to check and attach all of your accounts to prevent them from being renamed.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
Community Liaison, Wikimedia Foundation

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
