License tagging for File:Put it on cover.jpeg
Thanks for uploading File:Put it on cover.jpeg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wale discography
There are no WP:GAs with Discography in the title - GA excludes lists, so I think this has to go for FL. I would follow some articles at WP:FLC to get a feel for it. I also made a few more comments at the PR and did a light copyedit of the lead. Good luck, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 01:20, 17 April 2011 (UTC)

Nadia Ali discography
Hi, I've just done some of the work you suggested on the Nadia Ali discography. I have also replied to your comments at the nomination page. Thanks a lot for your feedback and the offer for more help! Hassan514 (talk) 11:08, 30 June 2011 (UTC)
- No not a problem at all, I appreciate any help I can get with any of the Nadia articles (especially since I'm the only one actively involved with them). I just saw some of the corrections you made, thanks for that. I always have a hard time with tables!
- Also random question, the format you pointed based on the MoS for the albums, I did it according to that but I noticed yesterday that several FLs had varying formats when it came to albums. Was it never noticed or just old vs new? 00:57, 1 July 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hassan514 (talk • contribs)
- Yeah, I had a tough time with tables when I first started too. For the FL's, yeah, it's just older fls versus newer fls. eventually they will have to be changed over. I use the style guide but I modify the certifications (if there are any). If you have any editing or any other questions, just ask! Have a good day.
—Michael Jester (talk) 01:13, 1 July 2011 (UTC)- Thanks for all the editing you're doing! Realised I didn't pick up a few things myself. I was comparing it to Rihanna discography and don't think there's much missing? Nadia Ali's albums never charted and she doesn't have any certifications for her songs so it makes things a little easier too! Hassan514 (talk) 04:30, 4 July 2011 (UTC)
- No problem man. The difficult thing about not having much charting and not much certifications is the lead is going to be more difficult to write. Or maybe not, I'll have to see. All I know is that this article will become a FL pretty soon once we both tackle this thing!
—Michael Jester (talk) 04:36, 4 July 2011 (UTC)- Yeah, I guess that is going to be hard because you don't know how many copies she's sold but whatever the information is there is complete and provides a pretty good picture of her discography. The only thing I can think of adding to the lead is the re-release of Rapture, and how it's charted again? Hassan514 (talk) 09:48, 4 July 2011 (UTC)
- Michael, I noticed that you switched from opposing this list to supporting it. However, you left the oppose active and didn't sign after the support. If you don't go in the history and check the edits, it looks like you're still opposing and someone else supported after the work was done on the list. When you get a chance, please go and strike the oppose and sign your support, so the directors can more easily track what's going on at the FLC. Thanks. Haha, I'll take you up on that offer. I'm starting work soon on Nadia's debut album Embers. There's not much info out there on her but I'd like to make the article as good as I can based on the information I do have. Infobox NFL retired
Re: [1] I don't understand what you mean. The documentation template at the top says that it contains categories. Can you please elaborate? Eagles 24/7 (C) 21:39, 15 July 2011 (UTC)
- I checked the category after adding it to the documentation and all the pages were still in there. Near the bottom of the code for Template:Infobox NFL retired is a hidden comment that says categories should be moved to the documentation, and on the documentation page the heading says that it contains categories. Also, I'm not sure why throwing the category in the middle of the infobox is a good idea, anyway. Eagles 24/7 (C) 21:49, 15 July 2011 (UTC)
- I'm not entirely sure where the category should be placed in the infobox. I do remember when the category was placed in the documentation, there were only two pages on the category's page: the documentation and the sandbox. When I moved the category back to the infobox, all the articles with the infobox was moved there. Also, I was looking at the Template:Infobox album's review section which is doing something similar. I looked at its code and that infobox has the category in its code.
—Michael Jester (talk) 21:55, 15 July 2011 (UTC)- I would say that if we keep the category on the infobox page and not the documentation page, that it be placed near the bottom of the template. But, as I mentioned above, if you go down to the bottom of the infobox page, you will see a hidden comment that suggests placing any categories on the documentation page. Eagles 24/7 (C) 22:37, 15 July 2011 (UTC)
- I'm not 100% on where the category should be placed, I was just going off of the infobox album. They have their "review category" in the infobox's code, and other categories in the documentation.

K-Ci & JoJo discography
Hi Michael, I know that you've been working hard to get an appropriate image for this article. The one in the infobox comes from Wikimedia Commons and is an image of the brothers when they were in their previous band, Jodeci. However check it very carefully: it has evidence of staples &/or staple holes across its middle. It is a high quality, and professional looking, posed band shot. The image has the band name featured to the side. All of this is indicative of a commercial image possibly from the middle of a CD insert or a poster/photo from a magazine. The uploader to Wikimedia is Briannanicole1025; who has had eight of twelve images – all related to Jodeci – deleted as being copyright violations. Two other non-deleted images also look like CD covers or posters with printing on them. I'd be worried that this infobox image is also a copyright violation. All images used on wikipedia should be appropriately obtained and any dubious one should be avoided.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 06:59, 26 July 2011 (UTC)

Love Always GAN
Looking over the article, it seems to me that it covers all of the basic sections of an album article. To ensure the article includes focus on all relevant details, make sure that it meets the suggested guidelines at WP:ALBUM. Also, go through a sampling of the current GA albums and see if they include any sections lacking in this one. If you believe the article then covers all of the relevant details, go ahead and nominate the article. I always recommend having an editor or two go through the article and giving it a copyedit to help eliminate any minor issues before the reviewer takes a look. If you need any clarification or have other questions about the GA process, please let me know. Good work on the article so far. --Happy editing! Hamilton
The article said his mother died in 1742. One older brother was born in 1723. I'm guessing he was born no later than 1730, but of course you cannot say that without citing a source. Djmaschek (talk) 05:20, 1 October 2011 (UTC)
- When I read that Hamilton's son was killed at Waterloo, I said to myself, "a lot of people got killed there, so what". After going to your article on the son, I saw that he was the colonel of the Scots Greys. This is an interesting coincidence because this month I completed an article on Pierre-Louis Binet de Marcognet, who commanded the division that the Greys rode down. You ought to include that his son was killed at Waterloo while commanding the Scots Greys. That makes it much more interesting. Also, I noticed that Murdostoun is misspelled in the lead paragraph and I also forgot to change the "before 1755" birth date. Djmaschek (talk) 05:37, 1 October 2011 (UTC)

Answers to your FLC questions
1: They're almost all taking as long or longer, unfortunately. Your FLC is only about halfway down the page currently. This is not the way the process would optimally be running, but this is what happens when there aren't enough reviewers. 2: You can send a neutrally worded message to a related project asking for reviews (e.g.: the discography project). Don't go saying "please support my FLC", because that falls under canvassing, but a straight review request is no problem. Giants2008 (27 and counting) 15:46, 12 October 2011 (UTC)

Hi. Congratulations on getting James Inglis Hamilton to GA. The comment that left you confused was by me, not Jim Sweeney. Sorry about that. "Colonel" of a regiment appears to have been a title rather than a rank in those days - ref 18 says he was actually a major when appointed. I've suggested a way to revise that sentence on the GA review page. --Stfg (talk) 20:08, 31 October 2011 (UTC)

Big L
First of all nice work on the Big L page I see you made did a lot to it and I am glad it is finally getting the attention it deserves.
I am also making some changes and I thought it would be best if we collaborated or (more importantly) if I at least gave you the reasons for some of the changes I have made (or think should be made). For example one thing which I think should be changed is 139 & Lenox being included as one of his posthumous albums. It's not an official album like Return of the Devils Son or Danger Zone so I don't think it should be included in his discography). I hope it doesn't sound like I am trying to change the whole page or get rid of your work or anything I just want to clear up the reasons for my edits. --993M64 —Preceding undated comment added 07:15, 21 November 2011 (UTC).
Those are reliable sources but Don Ice (Big L's brother and manager of his estate) knew nothing about the album until a few days before it came out. This is a thread about the album on BigLOnline: http://biglonline.com/index.php?showtopic=2646&st=0 Post number thirty says: "Just talked to both Big Don and Jewlz the director, and they didn't know this compilation was dropping. They are researching it right now. They don't know who's putting it out either, so i doubt its trough Flamboyant, cause than they would've known." At the time of its release Don was working on The Return of Devils Son.--993M64 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 993M64 (talk • contribs) 07:31, 21 November 2011 (UTC)
Sorry about the posts, I am new to this part of Wikipedia but thanks for telling me how to do that. The problem is if 139 & Lenox is included then that means The Archives and Harlem's Finest a Freestyle History Pt. 1 & 2 should also be included. There is nothing wrong with including them in the discography but they are not official albums, they are bootlegs. 139 & Lenox is the same as The Archives and both were released by Rich King, the only differences being 139 & Lenox was released under the "Flamboyant" label despite it not being related in any way with Big L's estate and it was not limited to 500 copies like The Archives (along with a slightly different track listing). When it comes to Big L I trust what The Big Sleep, Don Ice, and Jewlz say before anyone else because these people have first hand information, I am not saying the other websites mentioned are not generally reliable sources but in this case they are wrong. Also Discogs says this about 139 & Lenox: "Posthumous compilation officially released by Rich King. Previously released in 2006 as an unnoficial release 'The Archives 1996-2000.'" Rich King is not part of Big L's estate. And Donald Phinazee is not mentioned in the credits of 139 & Lenox, if it was official he would be credited as the executive producer. I would just like to add that I am fine with it being listed there I just feel it should be noted that it is unofficial.--993M64 (talk) 07:58, 21 November 2011 (UTC)
Yes I am a member of BigLOnline. Are you? I completely understand. Yeah I think it would be good if information was added saying it is not an official release. It just adds more information to Wikipedia right?--993M64 (talk) 08:14, 21 November 2011 (UTC)
Yeah I wish more people posted there also. Just need new stuff to be released... People are visiting the site just not posting because everyone is waiting for the documentary and CD with all the truly unreleased Big L stuff. Yeah I will definitely message Sleep about working on the Wikipedia article, that would be great. If the Big L page is ever on the front page that would be crazy, I hope that happens. And thanks for that tip about sources I am sure it will help.--993M64 (talk) 08:41, 21 November 2011 (UTC)

- Yes please do, I want to nominate it at FLC once everything is sourced and fixed. Best, Jonayo! Selena 4 ever 17:12, 8 December 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks! Can you do the "Featured artist" section too? Jonayo! Selena 4 ever 17:26, 8 December 2011 (UTC)
- Nope that's all :-) Thanks for your swift action! Happy holidays, Jonayo! Selena 4 ever 17:33, 8 December 2011 (UTC)

- BTW thanks for adding that reference :-) What do you think of the article so far? Does it meet the FL criteria? Best, Jonayo! Selena 4 ever 21:07, 8 December 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for the review. No you didn't seem "harsh", I don't want you to hold back :-) Best, Jonayo! Selena 4 ever 21:32, 8 December 2011 (UTC)
- This: "There is some under-linking here. Wikilink everything that can be wikilinked." Well I was told that I was only supposed to everything once in the referencing. Best, Jonayo! Selena 4 ever 00:45, 9 December 2011 (UTC)

RE: Discography
I understand where you are coming from. But at first glance most people are most likely not going to recognize RIAA, CRIA, BPI, etc. There is no doubt, however, that everybody will recognize the country of origin. I've seen the discussion and it seems as though it was mainly a two person discussion between you and Status. While that is not your fault, there are millions of people who use Wikipedia and thousands of users who were unaware of this discussion. I'm sorry Jester, but this change doesn't make any sense. Akron Pros
You are up to bat. I am sure the article took a beating, but also I added some stuff. The main thing is the sources and the further reading that will be coming into play. Please see all my comments especially the one about overusing one source and week 5 edit filter blocks 66.234.33.8 (talk) 18:14, 11 December 2011 (UTC)
- Once you wikify something, then there is no need to wikify it again.
- Once you say John Smith, then you only refer to him as Smith after that. 66.234.33.8 (talk) 20:45, 11 December 2011 (UTC)
Librarians
At the nypl, they practically trip over you to help you if you are looking for a book. Professional research assistance at the New York Public Library can be found also, but that's $200.00 an hour. That stuff about the librarian is unbelievable. I would just drive onto one of your local university's campus, see if they stop you, then go to their library. In New York because of the homeless situation, they don't let just anyone on. At Rutgers, they let anyone on campus. 66.234.33.8 (talk) 10:21, 12 December 2011 (UTC)
Archiving web pages
Can you teach me how to archive web pages please? 66.234.33.8 (talk) 22:41, 13 December 2011 (UTC)

Hi. When you recently edited 1920 Akron Pros season, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Coffin Corner (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
