Alene B. Duerk
[edit]Hello. Please notice my edits to Alene B. Duerk. Your'e using too many capital letters. See Wikipedia:Manual of Style (headings). Early life, with a lower-case l, is correct; Early Life with a capital is wrong. Further reading, with a lower-case r, is right; Further Reading with a capital is wrong. You shouldn't capitalize an initial letter just because it's in a section heading. As with article titles, the first letter of the heading is capital; the later letters are lower case unless there's a particular reason to capitalize. Michael Hardy (talk) 12:55, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Annette Elise Brown.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Annette Elise Brown.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 12:36, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:Church of the Holy Cross 1.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading Image:Church of the Holy Cross 1.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Fastily (talk) 03:27, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of Church of the Holy Cross (Middletown, RI)
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Church of the Holy Cross (Middletown, RI), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:
- Non notable chuch
All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Klunder
[edit]I appreciate your alteration of his rank to reflect his good fortune, and the Academy's, in being selected to admiral. I have not seen ranks used in this way, however, though this must fairly often happen at a lower level. My point is that the article is supposed to emphasize the Academy and we should not be dragged off into using reflected glory from people (hard to avoid with a President who graduated!). I would rather stick to common, official usage, and not be concerned about using terms that may more be an "honorific" rather than a real rank at this time. For some ranks, it can take a long time before they get the actual promotion. It doesn't seem quite right to use the term "higher rank-selected" during that entire period IMO. And while "nnn-selected" may work on paper, I think we can both agree that it is quite a mouthful if used verbally! :) Student7 (talk) 12:06, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
Hidden articles
[edit]Why is Elizabeth Hight a redlink? Have you done other articles like that? Gene Nygaard (talk) 05:50, 23 January 2010 (UTC)
- If somebody enters "Elizabeth Hight" in the "Go" box on the Wikipedia screen, or creates a link to Elizabeth Hight in another article [or on your talk page here], someone who clicks on that link, or enters that name in the Go box, should be taken to the article you have created. That doesn't happen as long as the color of that link is red. Try clicking on it, and see what happens.
- This doesn't happen automatically. You or somebody else needs to make it happen. Had you clicked on the blue link above where I said "redlink", you would have found that it takes you to Wikipedia:Redirect which tells you how to do that.
- Now, think back and see if you have failed to make the obvious redirects in any other articles as well. Gene Nygaard (talk) 16:14, 23 January 2010 (UTC)
- Note also that if, when you try to make the redirect you instead get taken to a different article, a redirect isn't enough. You then need to see Wikipedia:Disambiguation to see various ways to get readers to the point where they can choose which article they want to see. Gene Nygaard (talk) 16:19, 23 January 2010 (UTC)
- Obviously, you are indeed confused about redlinks. Why in the world somebody would want to create an article, yet let it remain hidden away, when he knows how to fix it--that's what's got me buffaloed. Is there any special reason you choose to do that? Gene Nygaard (talk) 16:14, 24 January 2010 (UTC)
WikiProject Children's Literature
[edit]Hi there! I notice that you have been creating some pages about Newbery Honor Books. If you add the {{WikiProject Children's literature}} template to the Talk page of these articles, they will automatically be included in the Children's Literature Project.--Plad2 (talk) 20:21, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
Hey, about your User Page
[edit]Good job on adding that link for the John Hopkins book to the U.S. Army Nurses Corps Page. I wanted to click on your User page to learn some more about you, and I noticed you didn't have anything on it. Userpages are a great oppurtunity to allow users to communicate a little bit about their interest and background to others Users that way they can more easily communicate with you. Why don't you give it a try? You seem to have a lot of experiencing editing in the broader sense. Sadads (talk) 14:18, 7 June 2010 (UTC)
This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Karen Flaherty, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.moaablogs.org/healthcare/about-health-care-happenings/bio-radm-karen-flaherty-senior-health-care-executive.
It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.
If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) CorenSearchBot (talk) 18:21, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

Karen Flaherty copyright - false alarm
[edit]The two copyright warning paragraphs above were a false alarm - the automatic system, CorenSearchBot, which checks for copyright violations, found that the text of this article matched a web page marked "Copyright", but it turns out that it actually originated from a US Navy public-domain source, and the page marked "copyright" had also been taken from that source. No copyright violation took place. JohnCD (talk) 22:09, 4 October 2010 (UTC)

[edit]I have contacted MOAA regarding their incorrect claim of copyright on the PD text copied from the .mil website. I will apprise you in due course of the results. Exxolon (talk) 17:11, 5 October 2010 (UTC)
- They've added "Source: The Navy Medicine website. This text is not copyrighted." with a hyperlink to the original source. Exxolon (talk) 23:37, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
- Nice to know they are paying attention - thanks for the update! Mhjohns (talk) 01:25, 7 October 2010 (UTC)
Autopatrolled
[edit]Hello, this is just to let you know that I have granted you the "autopatrolled" permission. This won't affect your editing, it just automatically marks any page you create as patrolled, benefiting new page patrollers. Please remember:
- This permission does not give you any special status or authority
- Submission of inappropriate material may lead to its removal
- You may wish to display the {{Autopatrolled}} top icon and/or the {{User wikipedia/autopatrolled}} userbox on your user page
- If, for any reason, you decide you do not want the permission, let me know and I can remove it
- If you have any questions about the permission, don't hesitate to ask. Otherwise, happy editing! Acalamari 16:26, 20 February 2011 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. The file File:Michelle Howard.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
unused, low-res, no obvious use
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 20 November 2019 (UTC)
