Information on Stellar (Jacksonville company) for your consideration

Hi Mgreason,

I work for Stellar, an architecture, engineering and construction firm based in Jacksonville, Florida. I noticed that you contributed to The Haskell Company’s article on Wikipedia and that you are a long-term member of WikiProject Jacksonville.

As you may know, Stellar and Haskell are very similar companies, which is why I thought you might want to weigh in on the discussion about Stellar’s article, including the question regarding the notability of the subject and the tone of the article.

As you’ll see from the news articles below, Stellar is regularly featured in the media. Here are two profiles in the Jacksonville Business Journal on Stellar’s leadership:

Jacksonville Business Journal – Foster constructs his career from ground up

Jacksonville Business Journal – Witt inspires with compassion and leadership skills

Stellar’s clients include some of the largest companies in the world, including:

Heinz: National Provisioner – Heinz Co. partners with Stellar

Nestle: Jacksonville Business Journal – Stellar to build Nestle plant and Refrigerated & Frozen Foods: Stellar completes Nestle R&D center

Starbucks: Food Engineering – Starbucks Goes from Green Beans to Green Plant (the plant that Stellar built for Starbucks won Food Engineering’s Sustainable Food Plant of the Year)

Keystone Foods: Food Engineering – Plant of the Year: Keystone Foods Puts Its Best Food Forward (the plant that Stellar built for Keystone Foods won Food Engineering’s 2010 Food Plant of the Year)

Stellar also works with many local companies and organizations, including:

Ring Power Corporation: Jacksonville Business Journal – Stellar finishes one project for Ring Power, starts another and Jacksonville Business Journal – Stellar completes Ring Power expansion

Brumos Motor Cars: The Florida Times-Union – Brumos feels need to shift into larger location

Hendricks Avenue Baptist Church of Jacksonville: Florida Real Estate Journal – Stellar wins AGC Horizon Award for Hendricks Avenue Baptist Church and The Florida Times-Union – Stellar wins awards for Jacksonville’s Hendricks Avenue Baptist Church.

Stellar is involved in the Jacksonville community. The Stellar Foundation Golf Classic is held annually to raise money for charity: The Florida Times-Union – Foundation gives $25,000 each to hospital, shelter

In 2006, Stellar established the Stellar Academy of Engineering at Allen D. Nease High School in St. Johns County, Fla., which provides on-site instruction by a Stellar employee to engineering students.

Many of Stellar’s employees have achieved accreditation in sustainable building practices: Food Logistics – Stellar professionals achieve LEED Accreditation

Thanks in advance for your consideration. I look forward to your thoughts.

Completely new abortion proposal and mediation

In light of the seemingly endless disputes over their respective titles, a neutral mediator has crafted a proposal to rename the two major abortion articles (pro-life/anti-abortion movement, and pro-choice/abortion rights movement) to completely new names. The idea, which is located here, is currently open for opinions. As you have been a contributor in the past to at least one of the articles, your thoughts on the matter would be appreciated.

The hope is that, if a consensus can be reached on the article titles, the energy that has been spent debating the titles of the articles here and here can be better spent giving both articles some much needed improvement to their content. Please take some time to read the proposal and weigh in on the matter. Even if your opinion is simple indifference, that opinion would be valuable to have posted.

To avoid accusations that this posting violates WP:CANVASS, this posting is being made to every non-anon editor who has edited either page since 1 July 2010, irrespective of possible previous participation at the mediation page. HuskyHuskie (talk) 20:12, 4 July 2011 (UTC)

The article Corky Rogers has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

I honestly don't see any reason this person could be notable and meet the guidelines.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Crash Underride 23:50, 13 July 2011 (UTC)

Bob Duval article

I was just reading the above-referenced article, which I created in 2006 and you greatly expanded in 2010. I like the work you have done; however, there are a couple sentences in the Senior golf section that don't make sense. I didn't attempt to fix it myself because I don't know the source and can't quite figure out what you were trying to say. The problem sentences start with,They decided that he Jack Nicklaus put together... All the best,--Hokeman (talk) 03:26, 15 August 2011 (UTC)

Hey, I reverted you addition to the Midland, Michigan article and wanted to point two things out.

First, Wikipedia policy says it's usually good form to write the article first, before placing a wikilink. In general, it's also likely that if they aren't notable enough to have a wiki page, they might not be notable enough for a list of 'notable people'. If they are notable for a specific event, it is possible you could wikilink to the article about the event instead. Please do so.

Also, you marked your edit as a minor edit. Because you added content to the article, you should not have done so. Minor edits should be limited to grammer, spelling, and formatting fixes; obvious errors; and vandalism reverts only. Bakkster Man (talk) 14:59, 17 August 2011 (UTC)

Hi. I want to let you know that I moved Template:Did you know nominations/HealthGrades back to the nominations page from the prep area. I have concerns that the overall tone of the article is still overly promotional, notwithstanding the inclusion of information about criticism of HealthGrades. This is not a permanent exclusion from DYK; it's just that the article needs some work before it goes to the main page in DYK. --Orlady (talk) 14:41, 3 October 2011 (UTC)

Peer review limits changed

This is a notice to all users who currently have at least one open peer review at Wikipedia:Peer review. Because of the large number of peer review requests and relatively low number of reviewers, the backlog of PRs has been at 20 or more almost continually for several months. The backlog is for PR requests which have gone at least four days without comments, and some of these have gone two weeks or longer waiting for a review.

While we have been able to eventually review all PRs that remain on the backlog, something had to change. As a result of the discussion here, the consensus was that all users are now limited to one (1) open peer review request.

If you already have more than one open PR, that is OK in this transition period, but you cannot open any more until all your active PR requests have been closed. If you would like someone to close a PR for you, please ask at Wikipedia talk:Peer review. If you want to help with the backlog, please review an article whoe PR request is listed at Wikipedia:Peer review/backlog/items. Thanks, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 00:56, 3 February 2012 (UTC)

Thank you for uploading File:SVMCSouthsideLogo.PNG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

I am unsure that this DYK? Nom belongs in February 5th or in February 8th myself. Looking at the edit history it seems the creator's original intent was to write an AfC not an article since the "Under Review tag" is present from the first version of February 5th and that tag was placed there by the creator, a fairly new contributor with 4 edits at that time. They came into IRC-help and asked for assistance. I moved it from "Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Krejci Dump" to "Krejci Dump" on February 8th and dated it from February 8 for that reason. Whatever you think is appropriate in terms of dating this article, a "DYK?" review would very much be welcomed (and thanks for adding those Categories too). Florida cultural events

Hi Mgreason,

I now live in Saint Augustine, Florida, and plan to work with cultural heritage organizations and institutions in the area. I'm reaching out to you because you edit loads of articles about FL and you live close by to me.

Do you have any interest in doing either outreach to cultural heritage organizations in FL or on wiki assistance to new editors from this sector.

In particular, I want to get the ball rolling planning Florida events related to Commons:Wiki Loves Monuments 2012 that will happen in September 2012. This years focus in the US is images of places on the National Register of Historic Places. While living in Kentucky, my husband and I took and uploaded images of places on the NRHP so I have a general idea of the process. I'm most interested in finding the gaps in coverage of historical sites in FL, and figuring out the best way to get these covered with local events. Maybe road trips to get some images in the outlying areas. We have a good amount of lead time so I think that this is doable.

Additionally, I plan to work with the Saint Augustine 450 Commemoration (a four year initiative to celebrate the founding of Saint Augustine and settlement of FL through educational and legacy projects) to see how that we can add value to their current events, and possibly plan some joint initiatives.

I'm also working with User:LoriLee, the U.S. Cultural Partnerships Coordinator for the Wikimedia Foundation, to create an listing of cultural organizations and institutions in the United States, and WMF volunteers interested in working with these organizations. The beginning stages of it are at Wikipedia:GLAM/US/Connect. We also plan to have State specific pages that link to the Wikiproject for each state.

Would love to hear your thoughts and idea, and to see if you have an interest in one or more of these projects? FloNight♥♥♥♥ 20:15, 19 February 2012 (UTC)

Hi. Glad to hear that you want to help. :-) I'll fill you in more since you're interested. The idea is to recruit people who work in GLAM (Galleries, libraries, archives, museums) organizations by doing outreach to them. It could be contacting single organizations or having workshops where a group of people in the sector learn about us together.
Once we connect with them in person, then we need to assist them with contributing. This often would be donating images. They need to learn how to upload images, and add them to articles. Also perhaps researching and creating new articles. Or we might need to write the articles if they are not into that aspect of the contributing.
So, there are a number of different opportunities to help. If you are most interested in helping new editors on line, most likely, there would not be a formal mentoring program but instead you would help by answering questions and looking over their edits.
Hope that gives you more of an idea of what it would entail. I'll give you more details once we get the ball rolling and have some definite plans in place. FloNight♥♥♥♥ 20:28, 20 February 2012 (UTC)

Two of the same charts in article with different data.

I did a search on Florida cities by population and got to your article at web address en,wikipedia.org/wiki/list_of_municipalities_in_Florida. I live in Coral Spring, Fl. Coral Springs is listed as number 13 in the complete list of all 283 municipalities. Under that list is a chart that is a population comparison of the 21 largest municipalities. Coral Springs is listed as number 15 in that list with Gainsville and Miramar ahead of it with the cities listed between numbers 7 and 11 in a different order. It would appear the the data in your article in the two listings were from different sources or perhaps a different time frame.

Hi. When you recently edited List of Great Floridians, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Secretary of the Interior and Harrison Reed (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

List of municipalities in Florida

I'd be happy to look at the article again and point out any issues, but I'll end up refraining from support since I'm a director and may end up closing the FLC when the time comes. I'm sure you'll understand my desire to avoid potential complications. Oh, and please watch the wording of your messages in the future. Asking "Would you be so kind as to support the nomination?" is too close to canvassing for my tastes, although I don't think that was your intention. Next time, you're better off just asking for a review in that scenario. Giants2008 (Talk) 20:16, 9 April 2012 (UTC)

I was thinking in the hook as it makes it sound like they exist worldwide. I'm a beginner to DYK though. Secretlondon (talk) 23:19, 2 May 2012 (UTC)

File:FlaCitiesMap.PNG

This map is not complete. In Broward County, it is missing Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Lauderdale Lakes, Lazy Lake, Pembroke Park, Sea Ranch Lakes, and Wilton Manors. All are incorporated places, and all have been around for quite some time (>40 years). You ought to rework the map to include them. Horologium (talk) 02:43, 25 May 2012 (UTC)
