A tag has been placed on My watchlist, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect to a user page from the main/article space.
If you can fix the redirect to point to a regular Wikipedia article rather than a user page, please do so and remove the speedy deletion tag. However, please do not remove the speedy deletion tag unless you are fixing the redirect. If you think the redirect should be retained as is for some reason, you can request that administrators wait a while before deleting it. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}}
to the page and state your reasoning on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. -- IRP ☎ 00:17, 14 March 2009 (UTC)

Categories based on userboxes
Hi. I'm (relatively) new to Wikipedia. It occurred to me today that some user boxes have categories associated with them (such as Universities) while others do not (such as college fraternities). Is this the consensus of the community, or just an oversight? Before I make trouble, i wanted to check with the "UBX" guy. Thanks for your insight. --Mblumber (talk) 14:37, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
- Hey. I couldn't actually tell you either way; I'd recommend checking Wikipedia:User categories and Wikipedia:Overcategorization/User categories and using your best judgment. Worst that can happen is that someone comes along and deletes them, although I doubt many people are still paying attention to them. —METS501 (talk) 19:37, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you. Looking at Category:Wikipedians, there isn't even a "Wikipedians by membership" which would then have to contain a "Wikipedians who are in fraternities/sororities" (amongst other groups that people might be in) and that would then contain the subcategories I was looking for. Looks like too much work, and that maybe it would go against the whole Wikipedia is not a social network thing. I think I'm probably best to just sit on this idea and let someone else do the heavy lifting. --Mblumber (talk) 22:12, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

I just wanted to note that I made a small change to this userbox, altering the border margin from 4px to 1 px. The larger border was preventing it from lining up properly in a grid with other user boxes. Ed Fitzgerald t / c 08:53, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

I see a fair use rationale on File:TFF Mad World video.jpg. Was your tagging a mistake or are there other reasons for the tagging? Thanks, —METS501 (talk) 00:51, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

Help with userbox
I have attempted to create a new userbox for my own use, Template:User Square, and while it looks good, it doesn't work right on my userpage[1]. Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong? Unschool 18:50, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
- Yep, you had the
<td>
and<tr>
tags reversed. If you switch their order (tr should be first) then you're all set. (tr creates a new row - "r" for row, while td creates a cell ("d" for data). You need to make a new row before a new cell :-) —METS501 (talk) 03:10, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

User:UBX/logical curly quotes
I wonder if you could fix this template. Currently the description says
- This user uses "logical quotation marks". Internal punctuation leads to factual errors. It's not a style issue!
While it would be more natural to use curly quotation marks (well, since the name of the template is “logical curly quotes”):

An exciting opportunity to get involved!
As a member of the Aviation WikiProject or one of its subprojects, you may be interested in testing your skills in the Aviation Contest! I created this contest, not to pit editor against editor, but to promote article improvement and project participation and camraderie. Hopefully you will agree with its usefulness. Sign up here, read up on the rules here, and discuss the contest here. The first round of the contest may not start until September 1st-unless a large number of editors signup and are ready to compete immediately! Since this contest is just beginning, please give feedback here, or let me know what you think on my talkpage. - Trevor MacInnis contribs 03:16, 23 August 2009 (UTC)

Bot
Hello, I'm a user of the Basque Wikipedia and I manage a Bot. I have some problems with the Bot because I'm new with Bots and I wanted to make you a question. If in a template there is | koordenatuak = {{|koord|23|45|N|56|34|E}}
can I replace automaticcaly with the Bot to get this: | dn = 23 | mn = 45 | N = N | de = 56 | me = 34 | W = E
. Is there any possibility? I would be grateful if you could answer me. --An13sa (talk) 11:36, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
malfunction
This bot malfunctioned on 14/4/2007, as it moved the format and content of other user's user page to mine, and thus make the user's information appeared on mine for 2 years. I haven't noticed it until the user tell me a week before, and he found that someone will mix up me and him because we have the same format and information on the user page.
