Michigan highway articles

Previously, WP:MISH, Michigan State Highways, was added as a subproject of the Michigan Wikiproject because of the 200+ plus articles, tagging was VERY erratic, and it was judged easier to just tag all of the highway articles under MISH as a subproject of both US Roads and Michigan. I see that you've retagged less than a dozen articles. Do you plan on going through and tagging the other 200 at a later date? If not, please untag them. Imzadi1979 (talk) 22:51, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

Since that project is indeed listed as being a child project of WikiProject Michigan, my tagging them was an error. I'll correct it today; thanks for the note. Merenta (talk) 22:54, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

Missouri state parks

Doh! I had meant to tag with WikiProject Missouri all those stubs I created , but I guess I forgot that step. Thanks! --Kbh3rdtalk 06:03, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

Iowa talk pages

Having placed county templates on almost every Iowa community, I know that there are lots of them, but it's always amazing to see how many talk pages show up on my watchlist. Good job on keeping track of them all :-) Nyttend (talk) 15:24, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

Groves High School

A tag has been placed on Groves High School (Georgia), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

Well, that's fine with me. I haven't edited that page so I'm not sure why this is on my talk page, but regardless, happy editing. Merenta (talk) 18:34, 22 February 2009 (UTC)

Oops. How did that happen? Sorry. GeorgeLouis (talk) 01:35, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

Could you please help me to update the link or give me the instruction on how I can do it?

On the page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ocean_Hill,_Brooklyn in the References paragraph last link to Jeff Grandis realty should be updated

Thank you Akhouses Akhouses (talk) 16:54, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

All you have to do is to edit that page, and then find the current link text ("http://www.jeffgrandis.com/n-bedford.php") and replace it with the new link text ("http://www.jeffgrandis.com/brooklyn-neighborhoods/bedford-stuyvesant"). Then be sure to add an appropriate edit summary (something like "link updating" is probably sufficient) and then save your changes with the "Save Page" button. If you still need help just reply here again and I'll try to teach you what you need to know. I can just do this myself, but I'd prefer to teach you to edit this sort of stuff yourself. Cheerio and happy editing! Merenta (talk) 21:32, 14 March 2009 (UTC)

AWB WP Cities

I see that you're using AWB to add the WP Cities template to the townships in Pennsylvania. While you're at it could you add {{WikiProject Pennsylvania}} to the articles that need it? Or does this slow down the AWB process for you? Most of the township talk pages already of the PA wiki project template. Dincher (talk) 21:52, 30 April 2009 (UTC)

I'll probably do that later in a seperate sweep. I'll probably assess most of these articles that need it at the same time. Thanks for the note! Merenta (talk) 21:59, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
OK. Thanks. Dincher (talk) 01:05, 1 May 2009 (UTC)

Offer

There's been some discussion about putting you through an RfA. You interested? DS (talk) 21:22, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the thought, but I'm not interested. Merenta (talk) 03:08, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

You did a great job with the edit on Laurel Mills, Virginia. I'm curious how you found all of that information. Very fascinating stuff! Max —Preceding unsigned comment added by Maxschellinger (talkcontribs) 01:49, 8 October 2009 (UTC)

Service award update

Hello, Merenta! The requirements for the service awards have been updated, and you may no longer be eligible for the award you currently display. Don't worry! Since you have already earned your award, you are free to keep displaying it. However, you may also wish to update to the current system.

Sorry for any inconvenience. — the Man in Question (in question) 10:11, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

How are you doing?

Hope you are doing OK-RFD (talk) 19:11, 25 February 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for the hope - I'm doing OK but struggling under an ever-increasing workload. I may be back to hardcore editing someday. Merenta (talk) 18:34, 5 April 2010 (UTC)

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion, guidelines for use at WP:MINOR). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and all users will still be able to manually mark their edits as being minor in the usual way.

For well-established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 20:13, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

Service award level

Herostratus (talk) 15:48, 21 March 2011 (UTC)

Actually, I didn't edit your userpage as you display them all in a line and I didn't want to break or mess with your formatting. But: you are entitled to two new levels, whizzing right through Labutnum of the Encyclopedia and becoming an actual Illustrious Looshpah.

Which certainly sounds as if you are entitled to rule a small South Asian nation, or at least be carried about on a litter to receive the admiration of adoring crowds for the rest of your days. Alas, I cannot help you realize either of these goals, but I can offer you my congratulations for your many contributions to the Wikipedia. Thank you! Herostratus (talk) 15:48, 21 March 2011 (UTC)

Thanks, I'm looking into the small Southeast Asian nation option now! Merenta (talk) 21:50, 21 March 2011 (UTC)

Help

I noticed that you've used AWB by making new articles in namespace talk. I want to make such talk pages in my home wiki. If you can tell me where to find such instructions.--CER@ (??ask??) 08:49, 2 April 2010 (UTC)

I'm not sure I ever found instructions for that, but here's how I do it: I load the pages into AWB (usually starting from a category), delete any ones that I don't want to mess with (usually by deleting anything that isn't in the main article space) and then convert the article list into a talk space list. Each of these are commands you can run from AWB by right-clicking on the page list. Then I make sure that the box for skipping a page if it doesn't already exist is not checked, and start. I usually have a template set up to automagically insert what I want into the talk page (usually a template marking the page as being part of a project or the like) but that's not needed unless that's what you want to do with the talk-space pages; whatever you do, AWB will open the nonexistent talk pages for you to edit; when you're done it saves them for you, just as if you're editing an existing page. If this wasn't helpful, reply again and I'll try to help you using other words. Cheerio and happy editing! Merenta (talk) 20:27, 3 April 2010 (UTC)
Good tutorial. Key words was convert the article list into a talk space list ;-)) Thank you very much. Your experience is a valuable asset.--CER@ (??ask??) 09:14, 5 April 2010 (UTC)
I'm glad I could help, and thanks for the kind words. Merenta (talk) 18:32, 5 April 2010 (UTC)

Hello,

I was wondering if you could add to the Sececa State Forest page please? There is hint of CCC construction on that forest with a still standing usable fire tower on Thorny Mountain. It would be nice to read more historical information about the forest. Thank you for your time. (69.19.14.18 (talk) 14:57, 19 June 2010 (UTC))

Hello, not sure I am in the right place. I need some help from an editor, would you be able to help me? I was trying to fix the Bunny Yeager page, there is so much information missing, then someone removed it, can you help me out please? The Wikipedia Library now offering accounts from Cochrane Collaboration (sign up!)

Cochrane Collaboration is an independent medical nonprofit organization consisting of over 28,000 volunteers in more than 100 countries. The collaboration was formed to organize medical scholarship in a systematic way in the interests of evidence-based research: the group conducts systematic reviews of randomized controlled trials of health-care interventions, which it then publishes in the Cochrane Library.

Cochrane has generously agreed to give free, full-access accounts to 100 medical editors. Individual access would otherwise cost between $300 and $800 per account. Thank you Cochrane!

If you are stil active as a medical editor, come and sign up :)

Contests

User:Dr. Blofeld has created Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/Contests. The idea is to run a series of contests/editathons focusing on each region of Africa. He has spoken to Wikimedia about it and $1000-1500 is possible for prize money. As someone who has previously expressed interest in African topics, would you be interested in contributing to one or assisting draw up core article/missing article lists? He says he's thinking of North Africa for an inaugural one in October. If interested please sign up in the participants section of the Contest page, thanks.♦ --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 01:32, 21 July 2016 (UTC)

Possible removal of AWB access due to inactivity

Hello! There is currently a request for approval of a bot to manage the AutoWikiBrowser CheckPage by removing inactive users, among other tasks. You are being contacted because you may qualify as an inactive user of AWB. First, if you have any input on the proposed bot task, please feel free to comment at the BRFA. Should the bot task be approved, your access to AWB may be uncontroversially removed if you do not resume editing within a week's time. This is purely for routine maintenance of the CheckPage, and is not indicative of wrongdoing on your part. You will be able regain access at any time by simply requesting it at WP:PERM/AWB. Thank you! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 23:36, 8 November 2016 (UTC)
