Here's a brief update in some of the recent developments of WikiProject Pharmacology!
- Aspirin has just completed its two week run as the first Collaboration of the Week! Many thanks to those editors that contributed; the article got a lot of good work accomplished, and in particular, much work was done in fixing up the history section. It's still not quite "done" yet (is a wikipedia article really ever done?), but after two weeks I think it's more important to push onwards with the development of the new collaboration of the week program. I will be fixing up Aspirin in the next few days and possibly nominating it for either GA or FA status.
- Muscle relaxant has been selected as the new Collaboration of the week until October 2, 2007! This article is currently rated as a "stub", so it's got quite a bit of work cut out for collaborators! Admittedly, featured status could be a long way off,... but still attainable! At the least, maybe we could at least get it up to meeting the Good article criteria? Please stop by the article and help improve it.
- Resveratrol, having recently achieved GA status on August 16, 2007, is now making a run for featured status. This is quite a fascinating compound. If you can, please stop by its discussion page and leave comments in support of it.
- Please remember that Wikipedia is not a forum for discussing or dispensing medical advice amongst users. Specifically, talk pages of articles should only be used to discuss improving the actual article in question. To help alleviate this situation, the template {{talkheader}} may be added to the top of talk pages, reminding users of the purpose of such pages. Additionally, unsigned comments and comments by anonymous users that are inappropriate may be removed from talk pages without being considered vandalism.
- There was an interesting article on ZDNet last week about Hewlett Packard licensing its patented microneedle technology used in common inkjet printers to be used in transdermal patches to deliver a time-controlled release of drugs to patients. This information could be added to articles such as route of administration or drug delivery.

Laura Ingalls Wilder
Many thanks for your comment about Laura Ingalls Wilder. I use the 'Wisconsin Atlas & Gazeteer' when I am researching articles concerning Wisconsin and it comes in handy. Many thanks for your comments. RFD 19:06, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
Lawson updates
Hey, good work adding some much needed references to the Lawson page. Quite an interesting character. Phiwum 17:39, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
Here are a few updates in the realm of WikiProject Pharmacology:
- The Pharmacology Collaboration of the Week has been changed to Collaboration of the Month, based on current participation levels. It is also more likely that articles collaborated on for one month are more likely to achieve featured quality than articles worked on for only a week or two.
- The current Collaboration of the Month for November is Receptor antagonist. Please take a look at that article and contribute to it if you get a chance. Ideally, the article should adhere to the featured article criteria.
- Therapies for multiple sclerosis is currently a featured article candidate. If you are familiar with the featured article criteria, please visit WP:FAC and review the article.
- Anabolic steroid is the wikiproject's newest Featured Article, having been promoted on October 8, 2007.
- Theobromine was delisted as a Good Article. The Peer review and GA reassessment discussions provide suggestions on improvement. Muscle relaxant was recently reviewed for Good Article status, but not promoted. Please see the full review full review here for details.

Up His Nose
I must confess to you that I was between 27 and 35 years old (sometime between 1989 - 1997) when it occurred to me that the track that I heard from that LP had been about cocaine. I cannot verify that the track is about cocaine but the rest of the LP seems to be about drugs in one way or another. I recommend hearing it. I think that article could be made to be prettier; I don't think that it can be written too much better.
When I first started thinking about the content, I was going to suggest that C&C made those observations while babysitting Dweezil but that is my brain mixing the seventies together. I didn't write that.

- Do you have whatever it takes here to put the article back? I did as you requested and it was deleted anyways. I am sad, because I left the speedydelete tag on it in good faith and it was deleted regardless of the promises that the hangon tag made. -- Carol 21:23, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Department of Pharmacy
Is there a particular housekeeping task you had in mind when you tagged this article under G6? I looked on the talk page but your message there mentioned nothing in particular. I just wanted to make sure that G6 was the right criteria before I delete it. Ioeth (talk contribs friendly) 18:55, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
RoundRiver Institute =Romance, Wisconsin, etc.
Hi! In the Romance, Wisconsin article there is reference to the RoundRiver Institute; it is a Buddhist retreat center. I doubt very much I would do an article about it. My knowledge about Buddhism is very limited. Also I found a citation about "The Sha"= Waukesha, Wisconsin- it came out of the Urban Dictionary. I hope the citation will help-otherwise it can always be remove. Thank you-RFD (talk) 18:35, 23 November 2007 (UTC)

I have removed any and all information that may be portrayed as informational the last time this page was deleted...The information that is left on this page is strictly informational and in no way is promotional. Interesting bit about the apparent mis-naming of this ship. How on earth did you discover the error? I'm interested in it because I created the article as part of a personal project. During the project, I discovered another apparently misnamed WWII-era ship, USS Theenim (AKA-63). I'm wondering how widespread this mis-naming might be, and I'm wondering if the DANFS people might like to know about these two incidents. I've looked at a LOT of DANFS articles, and I get the impression that many were done in a hurry by people who weren't too meticulous about some of the details. Look at THIS to see something about Estes Mountain. Wonder if they just have the wrong state? Lou Sander (talk) 14:41, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
Gangland article
Merenta, please remove your tag for speedy deletion. If you look at the article now, it is signficantly better. I will continue to work on it but if you know how to regorganize the television info box please go ahead. Thanks, Seantpainter 21:25, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
Cesar L. Alvarez
Cesar L. Alvarez is the CEO of the 7th largest law firm in the USA. I tagged him on the Greenberg Traurig cite as being the CEO. Do not delete! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jccort (talk • contribs) 02:49, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

All Conkling Jazz and Ragtime Band
Hi Merenta- I did a google search and-there was no All Conkling Jazz and Ragtime Band. I think it is a hoax. Also some research about Roscoe Conkling: he resigned from the United States Senate in 1881 because of a patronage dispute with President Garfield and died in 1888. The facts are wrong. Merenta, when you do delete, you may want to include this in the files of great hoaxes of all time that WikiPedia ever seen. I think someone at Wikipedia keeps track of these hoaxes. Thank you-RFD 21:49, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
I have rejected your speedy deletion tagging of this article - "two United World Muay Thai Middleweight titles, three UWMTA Junior Middleweight titles and an International Muay Thai Council Middleweight North American Championship title" is a clear assertion of notability that makes this article not subject to CSD A7. --Stormie 00:06, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
- Mind you, having done that, I discovered that it was a blatant copyvio and speedy deleted it for that reason. Oh well! --Stormie 11:33, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
speedy
Possibly Charles K Herman MD is not notable, but asserting that some as an internationally known reputation for his publications is at least a claim to notability, and quite sufficient to prevent A7 speedy as not asserting notability. Please reread WP:CSD. DGG (talk) 00:21, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
Penn Wagers Article
I must ask you why you nominated that Penn Wagers article for speedy deletion. Did you not consider the following facts: 1) Penn Wagers is an head SEC football officall, known to many. 2) The man has been calling football games for nearly 30 years. 3) He is one of the top College Football referees in the country. 4)Take a look at the amount of coverage for NFL referees, don't you agree that College football referees deserve the same level of coverage? Next time, please consider your knowledge on the subject at hand and give the author of the article time to respond to your complaint before being so quick to at upon a Stub.
This is not meant to start an edit war of any kind, but I am a little tiffed at your thought that Penn Wagers is unimportant. Neil Kelty 03:44, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for your response about the proposed merger of the Madison/Janesville articles town/city. Having live in La Crosse for years I have seen the city of La Crosse get into squabbles with the town of Campbell (French Island) over boundaries, etc. I have even seen the cities of Onalaska&La Crosse get into a squabble about land the cities wanted to annex in the Valley View Mall area!RFD (talk) 19:20, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

WikiProject New York
I noticed that you added Franklin Avenue (New York City Subway) to WikiProject New York, and I see that you are doing this with many other articles, as well.
Franklin Avenue (New York City Subway) is part of WikiProject New York City Public Transportation. That project, in turn, is a child of WikiProject New York City, which is a child of WikiProject New York. The two child projects, between them, contain thousands of articles.
The whole point of child projects is to avoid the necessity to add every article from the child into the parent. One generally puts articles into multiple projects only if those projects are independent. For instance, some subway articles are also in WikiProject National Register of Historic Places.
I reverted your edit to the subway station talk page. I am not reverting your other edits (it would be too tedious), but I see that many of them are NYC-related articles. Those articles belong in WikiProject New York City (if they aren't already); and if they're in that project, they do not belong in the parent project. Marc Shepherd (talk) 20:55, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
Hidden Valley
Thank you for the update. Do you want me to point my Hidden Valley link in Estes, Park to Trail Ridge ? Glad to correct this error. This clears up a long misconception I've had since the 70s. I would ski a St. Mary's and also referred to it as one in the same, and NO ONE ever corrected me. I never skied any of the Estes Park area hill, but skied Geneava Basin/Indianhead, A-Basin(was there that day when the lodge burned to the ground), and the other areas... the good ole ski era days!. Lance....LanceBarber (talk) 15:51, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Jonathan Black
Hi,
I was creating a page titled Jonathan Black on author Jonathan Black half an hour ago. (I dont know what time it is at you location, wherever you are. You can check my signature time stamp.)
Unfortunately, due to my lack of experience in using wikipedia i saved it before it was complete and was soon deleted. If you could return me my text (along with any comments you might like) I would like to finish it.
Thanks
