Taking Out The Trash (talk) 15:26, 20 June 2023 (UTC)Adding "+" to Matador
[edit]Hi tornadoesarecool13, I saw you were discussing adding back the + after EF3 that I undid. In this scenario, the report released by the national weather service has no evidence to support it being raised. It could, but so could the possibility of every preliminary tornado ever, and we typically only add a + if the NWS concludes the damage may increase. Wikiwillz (talk) 02:46, 25 June 2023 (UTC)

Would you like to help with the Tornadoes of 1945 overhaul?
[edit]Hey Tornadoesarecool13! So myself and other editors have been working on improving tornado documentation on Wikipedia for super old tornadoes. We recently finished up List of United States tornadoes in 1946 and have now begun working on the 1945 tornadoes. User:WeatherWriter/1945 Tornado Checklist is basically a centralized page where the current steps and progress can be seen. You are newer to Wikipedia, so I wanted to offer and ask if you would like to participate in the 1945 tornadoes overhaul. It would be a great way to get meet other editors and get some behind-the-scenes editing experience off some of the newer and more visited articles (i.e. 2023 tornado articles). If you ever have any questions, feel free to drop me a message on my talk page! Have an amazing day! WeatherWriter (talk) 21:52, 26 June 2023 (UTC)
Tornado Charts
[edit]Hey Tornadoesarecool, I've noticed that you've accidentally put in the wrong colors to put the ratings in the tornado charts. Here's the format to put in the ratings for the charts.
To put the color for EFU or EF? tornadoes, put "unk" after storm colour. Here's what this generates:
EF# | |
---|---|
EF? |
|
For EF0 tornadoes, put "storm" after storm colour. That generates this:
EF# | |
---|---|
EF0 |
|
For EF1+ tornadoes, put "cat" before you put the number after storm colour. For example, "cat2" generates this:
EF# | |
---|---|
EF2 |
|
Also, please be sure that you have a reliable source to verify any changes in a tornadoes rating prior to updating it in the tornado chart. If you have any questions about this, just let me know. ChrisWx (talk - contribs) 16:56, 27 June 2023 (UTC)

[edit]Hey! I saw your comment (that you added and then deleted) on the talk page of List of F5 and EF5 tornadoes. I wanted to let you know about the large discussion page (Talk:List of F5 and EF5 tornadoes/Discussion) where each of the tornadoes for the possible F5 and EF5 tornadoes list are discussed before adding or where the sort of consensus is on whether or not a source is viable enough to add a tornado to the list.
