Hi, Thank you for your contributions,
I am a professional, as my user is new to wikipedia, i am not My article about Dr Fahim TOkhi is a biography of a living person and i don't see any problem with wikipedia guidelines Thank you Kankor123 (talk) 04:02, 24 August 2016 (UTC) |
- @Kankor123: Hi Kankor123, to be quite honest here, I do agree with you. It seems notable to me, and it is well referenced. The only issue here is that you are removing the CSD template, which is against Wikipedia policy. You may want to talk with the original deletion nomineer, who tagged the article first, which appears to be @Reddogsix:. Cheers. MeowMoon (talk) 04:06, 24 August 2016 (UTC)

Your patrol of Foss software
[edit]I noticed that you marked the article "Foss software" as patrolled, even though it has several serious problems, including a lack of references and the fact that its topic is the same as an existing article. I suggest that you get more experience editing before you attempt to patrol new pages; patrols like this one can make it difficult to find problematic new pages. KSFTC 04:22, 30 August 2016 (UTC)
- @KSFT: Sorry, I was kind of in a rush because I was dealing with mass reverting another editor's contribs.' at the time, but I did mean to add a CSD tag to it... MeowMoon (talk) 04:24, 30 August 2016 (UTC)
- The user who created it hasn't made many other edits, so I assume you mean someone else. If you're in a rush doing something else, you should not patrol problematic new pages. Patrolling should normally be done after you deal with issues. I noticed you also patrolled "Khirganga", which should be deleted under G11. KSFTC 04:27, 30 August 2016 (UTC)
- @KSFT: Yes I was talking about someone else at the time... I will look through my patrol log and go through these pages, sorry about that. MeowMoon (talk) 04:29, 30 August 2016 (UTC)

Hello, Twinkle Twit, please do not be offended by deletions of evasive terminology.
[edit]I deleted inconclusive data regarding Zika. Please respond here before you perform another reversion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.3.179.14 (talk) 01:42, 1 September 2016 (UTC)
You're welcome! And thank you for noticing. My question there was about that particular dash; I feel like I've read somewhere that we should avoid it because some browsers can't render it but now I can't seem to find whatever it was I think I saw. Do you know? RunnyAmiga ※ talk 04:39, 2 September 2016 (UTC)
- @RunnyAmiga: Yeah, WP:DASH is the closest thing that I can find regarding this guideline. Though, I mainly appreciated you noticing this because the larger dash just didn't look right in that particular edit. Regarding the web-browsers though, I don't think WP:DASH mentions this, and I don't know if the larger dashes cannot be rendered in certain browsers; I've never seen that anywhere but I wouldn't be too surprised if that was true... :-) MeowMoon (talk) 22:32, 2 September 2016 (UTC)
- I think that was it. Although that doesn't say anything about technical issues, I probably guessed as much because I still can't find a reason to type the fuzzy text (& ndash ;, & mdash ;, etc.) instead of just the character. And either way, I agree that the big dash looked pretty bad. RunnyAmiga ※ talk 17:09, 4 September 2016 (UTC)
- @RunnyAmiga: I think the fuzzy text is only used by automated scripts, such as Twinkle and other edit processing tools. I also found WP:CHECKWIKI which explains that some bots, such as Yobot enter in the fuzzy text in certain parts of the article text, though I don't really know or understand how that process works. In my experience though, the bar above the edit summary doesn't show/load the wiki-markup buttons on non-encrypted browsers, (such as mobile and proxy browsers) so using the fuzzy text may help in these cases... Happy editing! MeowMoon (talk) 18:29, 4 September 2016 (UTC)

Cher
[edit]I believe that on Cher's wikipedia page it should state that she is not America but in fact Armenian America.. Why? Justlook at her last name, Sarkisian. Her father is Armenian? Doesn't that make her Armenian?????? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.205.68.223 (talk) 04:54, 3 September 2016 (UTC)
Too-speedy tagging
[edit]Thanks for patrolling new pages, a vital and under-appreciated task, but please don't tag newly created articles with WP:CSD#A1, WP:CSD#A3 or WP:CSD#A7 too soon after creation. While things like copyright violations and attack pages need to be tagged at once, new contributors often put in a word or two and then click "Save page" to see how it looks: it is discouraging and BITEy if a speedy-deletion template immediately pops up. For incomplete articles like Agniv Sinha just now (which you tagged only one minute after creation), you should make a note of the title and wait at least 10 - 15 minutes before tagging. See {{uw-hasty}}. There is general advice about new page patrolling at WP:NPP, and about speedy tagging at WP:10CSD and WP:A7M. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 17:41, 4 September 2016 (UTC)
- @JohnCD: Hi John, and thanks for the tip. I will keep this advice in mind in the future. I figured that if people wanted to create new pages, that they can just see a preview of how it looks before submitting it, as well as using the "draft an article" system. Thanks for the feedback, regards— MeowMoon (talk) 18:12, 4 September 2016 (UTC)
