"Misconstructiver"

My recent edits were far from misconstructive... also dont be rude to me and use the word "refrain" as if you are superior to me... your doing something you get paid 5 dollars a day, so dont please... also your a contradictive user because your edit to my page was no where near constructive?? i only editted for a youtube video as i have 100k subscribers, i also was going to fix it straight away. as for commenting on that bots page, they are a disgrace... this is not meant to offend you, and my uncle works for wiki so banning me wont do ish. If you were getting paid and this was your career i would understand.. but as it isnt... well what are you doing.. Anywho

Mine sincerly(yup not yours)

-Matt Smith — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thefootballmaster22 (talkcontribs)

If you continue down the path of not assuming good–faith and attacking other editors and not treating everyone with respect, you will lose your editing privelages. That's a simple equation for you to realize. Respectfully, I couldn't care less who you are, or where your uncle works – you will follow Wikipedia's guidelines/policies if you'd like to participate here. That's not up for debate, everyone must abide by those policies, not just you. I don't get paid, and your business on YouTube is quite frankly irrelevant here. ——MelbourneStartalk 13:23, 21 January 2014 (UTC)

Sorry. Reconsider

Hi I don"t want to be rude or disrespectful but the info on the page of Mohamed Abdi Hassan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mohamed_Abdi_Hassan) turns out to be wrong and the facts are not right, thus providing false info to the readers. I do not know who wrote it but I think that some facts don't make sense for I did research on him. I really dont ccare if you delete the page (i suggest you should), but I am just telling for I am a big fan of Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.63.233.61 (talk) 00:42, 24 January 2014 (UTC)

Hi, could you specifically refer to what exactly you define as "false info"? because the article appears to be verifiable. Thanks, ——MelbourneStartalk 01:32, 25 January 2014 (UTC)

hi,

you just removed a link from my edit.

I have taken them after speaking with the respondant of the email who is also working at the administration of Kabul University Website and as the Admission information officer.

It is also published online in Kabul University Official Website.

Secondly, Please approve the changes I have made. the official names of Kabul University is Pashto and Dari Languages are the same as I have posted which can be verified from their official website as well as the government documents which I will and can provide if you need.

I will make other changes as required in the number of faculty which is missing with more details and will work on its look and style as appropriate to WiKi pedia.

Let me know what requirements are there to prove what i have posted are appropriate, and what is in wiki right now about kabul university that i have changed are wrong???

here is the link to the email address and phone numbers I have posted. http://ku.edu.af/en/page/6923/6885 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sulaiman Ashna (talkcontribs) 11:59, 22 January 2014 (UTC)

Hi Sulaiman, and welcome to Wikipedia!
Unfortunately, I have had to undo your edits on the Kabul University article, as they contain a collection of links and content written in a non-neutral point of view, that appear to be used to promote the subject. This is unacceptable, and I'd ask that you refrain from doing so. Please instead have a read of our guidelines and policies on having neutral point of view, as well as what is/isn't acceptable for external links. Also, if you are closely affiliated with the subject in question, it may be best cease editing that particular article to avoid non-neutral point's of view. Regards, ——MelbourneStartalk 12:08, 22 January 2014 (UTC)

Hello Again Sir,

I Thank you for your kind and quick response, I will try my best to provide constructive edits.

The point here is, that due to the wrong names, I have witnessed several conflicts and abusive debates about wiki and it's information.

doing to details and debate is not what i am up to. I am just trying to make it a better and more reliable source of information for people.

Other edits I made are giving details as necessary, However I would remove the unnecessary links, but about the name edits, which you might be considering as non neutral are actually the base of problem here in (Kabul University). The senior faculty members who are my colleagues as well requested me to do the edits and link them to the official page of Kabul University and to the official photos / logos so that the Administration and readers of Wikipedia understand them and approve them.

Your guidance, kind manner and quick response is highly appreciated and impressed me, I will try and work on more areas where constructive (on neutral areas of course) is required.

Warm Regards from Kabul University

Eucharist

I am puzzled as to the reason why I received a message from you regarding a change made to Eucharist. I have never edited that page--Madame Bonheur (talk) 09:14, 28 January 2014 (UTC)

What are you talking about? I've never given you a message regarding a change to Eucharist. Mistake? ——MelbourneStartalk 10:07, 28 January 2014 (UTC)

Hello MelbourneStar,

Well, I removed all content from Amr ElSamra 'sorry' without explaining why. In the future, I will describe my changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary so, this was not a mistake! In other words, I did it on purpose so no need to restore the page's content. Thanks. ——Amr ElSamra — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aelsamra (talkcontribs) 13:08, 4 February 2014 (UTC)

edit of page Mani Shankar Aiyar

Hi, I dont think what you have written is true. the reference http://articles.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/2004-08-22/india/27157445_1_mani-shankar-aiyar-sena-mp-sena-chief-bal-thackeray is sledging between 2 political parties and not facts. Secondly IFS is one of the most reputed examination in India and there is now way that a person buys his way into it. Even if he is the Prime Minister of the country. I deleted that purposely, it was not a mistake on my part. As there is no evidence to hold the controversy.

Waterloo Road - Series 9 episodes

Hi there, just to say the debate about how many episodes Series 9 of Waterloo Road consists of are in fact actually 30 and not 20. Filming took place over a 9 month period (April-December 2013), not 6 months (as is usually does with a 20-part series). It was initially to be only 20 episodes but this was extended during filming. http://www.inverclydenow.com/today/11393-waterloo-road-makers-staying-on-another-year Series 10 has not begun filming yet. It will commence later in the spring. (as confirmed by Laurie Brett in this interview http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s2/eastenders/news/a542296/laurie-brett-on-janes-eastenders-future-whatever-will-be-will-be.html) 80.41.235.161 (talk) 19:30, 3 March 2014 (UTC)

Oh... well that's perhaps a good thing I'm wrong. Thanks for the heads up! ——MelbourneStartalk 23:36, 3 March 2014 (UTC)

Hello

Why is me being warned ,and that vandaliser who continually removes sourced maerial who's not?Pls do tell me the reason. Is that because he's a priviledged one? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Victorkkd (talkcontribs) 07:42, 8 March 2014 (UTC) I've seen you are a fair person.Nice day.

You've both been warned actually, and if you both don't cease edit warring, you both risk losing your editing privileges. ——MelbourneStartalk 07:46, 8 March 2014 (UTC)

thanks for the feedback i left a neutral description. much better — Preceding unsigned comment added by Surreyhills01 (talkcontribs) 08:23, 16 March 2014 (UTC)

Sungkyunkwan University

Over on the Sungkyunkwan University, I've been trying to find a way to improve the quality but there's just one unregistered editor who keeps inserting in bad English. Thanks for your help trying to fix things up but this person's going to keep going at it. I'm hoping we can get the page locked, or if possible get it locked just to non-members, but no clue how to do that. Cheers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Junganghansik (talkcontribs) 00:40, 17 March 2014 (UTC)

WikiProject Amusement Parks Article Clean-Up

Recently, an issue has been brought up regarding the notability of many articles within WikiProject Amusement Parks. As a result, a page has been created regarding this issue as well as a possible solution (which will be on-going). In a nut-shell, certain articles will be picked to be reviewed in each stage and the WikiProject members (you) will decide if the article should be deleted or kept based on Wikipedia's notability guidelines.

I hoping this will work and if it doesn't, oh well...I tried.

More info can be found on the linked page above.--MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:27, 21 March 2014 (UTC) Sent by Dom497

Caste system in india

You bet I had provided a source: http://www.amazon.com/Untouchables-Familys-Triumphant-Escape-Indias/dp/0520252632/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1396083336&sr=8-1&keywords=india+caste+system. I think you are deliberately claiming I didn't provide as source, so you could remove an inconventient truth? You work for the India Ministry of Propaganda?

Please restore the edit I had made and re-add the source. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.56.78.118 (talk) 08:57, 29 March 2014 (UTC)

There appears to be no source in the edit I reversed; and seeing as you are not being civil and not assuming good faith, you can by all means attempt to restore the edit, yourself. ——MelbourneStartalk 09:02, 29 March 2014 (UTC)

Thank you for your RfA support

Hi there, a bit of a form letter from me, Cyphoidbomb, but I wanted to drop you a line and thank you for your support at my recent RfA. Although I was not successful, I certainly learned quite a bit both about the RfA process and about how the community views my contributions. It was an eye-opener, to say the least. Thank you also for your specific comments at the AfD. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 01:03, 30 March 2014 (UTC)

You're very welcome Cyphoidbomb! cliché it is, but there is certainly always next time, and I'll be happy to support then – as the only way for you now, is up, from that experience. All the very best, ——MelbourneStartalk 22:19, 1 April 2014 (UTC)

Regarding Elephant Cognition changes

Hi MelbourneStar, Please accept my apologies if I'm doing any mistakes here, as I'm new on this. Regarding my changes to Elephant Cognition, they were done in good faith. As I commented in reporting my "false positive" to the automatic ClueBot NG: The snopes.com page listed as reference [47] has a listing of "partly true", so the text on Wikipedia is in fact currently incorrect. This is an important difference, as the point of the snopes article is that these videos trick the viewer by not showing that the paintings are actually guided by the mahouts, thereby incorrectly portraying the artistic abilities of the elephants with the goal of getting more money from tourists.Cyril Heck (talk) 12:35, 9 April 2014 (UTC)

Hi Cyril, and welcome to Wikipedia!
Based on what you've told me, as well as the source provided, I've restored your edit. Thanks for bring this to my attention. Regards, ——MelbourneStartalk 02:59, 10 April 2014 (UTC)

Naghmehetaati 13

Hi, MelbourneStar, thanks for catching the newest Naghmehetaati. I've blocked the account; Beyond My Ken alerted me on my page, because I had blocked the original. It might be simpler for you to drop me a line on my page if you should see further Naghmehetaatis. Many admins watch my page, so someone will probably take care of it if I'm not around. I always find it a bit of a chore to file SPIs, myself, and this person hardly deserves the whole bureaucracy. (Sooner or later I suppose it might occur to them to invent a different name, but with those typical posts, it won't make much difference.) Bishonen | talk 14:21, 10 April 2014 (UTC).

No worries! I can certainly see how the whole SPI process is a chore (mucked the form up, the first time round for this user) – but it's an area I'm unfamiliar with so hopefully I'll be able to gain more experience, so good people like yourself don't have to bother with it anymore. And certainly, if I do see any more "Naghmehetaatis" accounts (either this SP is playing dumb - or it's not an act) you'll be first to know! Thank you, and kind regards, ——MelbourneStartalk 14:28, 10 April 2014 (UTC)

Angels Den page

MelbourneStar,

Thanks for your message. I was trying to edit the page so that it was written from a more neutral point of view, to avoid the error messages that are appearing on the page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Leap123 (talkcontribs) 13:41, 10 April 2014 (UTC)

Hi Leap, and welcome to Wikipedia!
For future references, I would suggest only manipulating the content to a neutral point of view, in a step-by-step process, without removing chunks of content; also, writing an edit summary explaining your changes to the content. That way, other editors will have a better understanding of what changes you'd like to make. If you need any help, I'm always here – Wikipedia can be a daunting place for first time users. Thanks, ——MelbourneStartalk 15:03, 10 April 2014 (UTC)

JacobDBB

Hello MelbourneStar, I'm new on wikipedia and i tried to change the category of this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Al-Nabk_District into this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:An-Nabek_District because An-Nabek is the right spelling and not al-Nabk. I'm sorry if i did something wrong and Thanks for your help anyway. — Preceding unsigned comment added by JacobDBB (talkcontribs) 14:48, 10 April 2014 (UTC)

Hi Jacob, and welcome to Wikipedia!
You only made a slight mistake – but don't worry, the problem has been solved!
I have redirected the erroneous category to the correctly spelt category, for you.
If you need any further assistance, please don't hesitat in asking. All the best, ——MelbourneStartalk 14:57, 10 April 2014 (UTC)
Hello, i have just a question. Could you tell me which is the fastest way to change category names please.
like this for example https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Populated_places_in_Al-Nabk_District
I want to change it to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Populated_places_in_An-Nabek_District
Thank you very much MelbourneStar. — Preceding unsigned comment added by JacobDBB (talkcontribs) 15:12, 10 April 2014 (UTC)
Hi Jacob,
To my understanding, there's no "fastest way" - but the process I used is outlined here and it is straight-forward. With that said, for me it is easy to do; however, for someone who's new to the project, it may appear difficult. I would suggest, whenever an issue such as this arises, it may be best approaching an experienced editor, who I'm sure will be willing to assist you. I have redirected 'Category:Populated_places_in_Al-Nabk_District' → 'Category:Populated_places_in_An-Nabek_District' as it's commonly misspelt (thank you for picking that up, twice! ). ——MelbourneStartalk 15:26, 10 April 2014 (UTC)

Please block IP

Hi MelbourneStar. I see you also reverted an edit by IP 204.29.66.88. All edits by this user are vandalism. I could understand that it could be one bad apple sharing an IP with good faith editors, but all the edits from this address are vandalism, so whether it is one single user or various, it is all vandalism. The user(s) has/ve been blocked a number of times before. Regards, Rui ''Gabriel'' Correia (talk) 21:22, 10 April 2014 (UTC)

Hi Rui,
I'm not an Administrator, and therefore cannot block the IP address; however, if they persist vandalizing articles I would encourage you to make a report of this at the Administrator intervention against vandalism noticeboard (especially since they've already incurred their final warning for vandalism). Once reported, an Administrator will review the IPs edits, and if deemed necessary, they will block the IP address too. Hope that helps! —MelbourneStartalk 05:00, 11 April 2014 (UTC)

Last Warning?

I was simply removing non-relevant information about the school. The information that was displayed on this article's website was information that was aimed to denigrate and place a foul-tone on the school. How can editors of this Wikipedia allow pages to be subject to vandalism. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AmazeMeGreat (talkcontribs) 14:37, 12 April 2014 (UTC)

I have no intention of disrupting the information of Kilwinning Academy. The information that I added to this article was in good faith - to promote and inform the Wikipedia readers of the school. What I added or omitted was relevant and true information. But Wiki editors like to remove and bin relevant information, leaving on the basics-of-basic information on a page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AmazeMeGreat (talkcontribs) 14:48, 12 April 2014 (UTC)

Hi AmazeMeGreat,
Firstly, the content you removed was verifiable and reliable, and yes, did pertain to the school's article. Secondly, you removed this content, without an edit summary explaining your intentions. Thirdly, this warning comes after your previous warnings for adding unsourced content into the same article. AmazeMeGreat: content that contains verifiable and reliable sources should be added to articles, when appropriate (a school incident & a the school winning a grant is appropriate) – and not removed. If you still believe that the content is what you would deem "non-relevant", please discuss the changes you would like to make, on the article's talk page (here) and seek consensus to do so. Otherwise, please don't remove content. Lastly, I know you have good-faith intentions, my advice would be not to rush into things – talk to other editors before making conflicting edits; that way, things will run much smoother for you and for us all really. Hope that clarifies, —MelbourneStartalk 14:50, 12 April 2014 (UTC)

Shrek (franchise)

hey i was editing Shrek (franchise) to include a new video what i have watched not even making one lie or untruthful statement and u keep undoing it i changed the wording to more exact wording for u multiple times but u keep on deleting it thank you please get back to me? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.167.232.97 (talk) 15:42, 12 April 2014 (UTC)

That "video" you speak of, is not part of the Shrek franchise, but rather it's an amateur parody. Also, this edit of yours, is completely false and constitutes to vandalism. Any further attempts to include it, it will be removed, and you may lose your editing privileges. —MelbourneStartalk 15:50, 12 April 2014 (UTC)

oh i am truly sorry which parts are lies? I did thorough research in to this topic but must of missed a few things i mean you must of put in more research yourself for you to be right and for me to be wrong — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nicmaddness (talkcontribs) 15:59, 12 April 2014 (UTC)

Yes, I did do the research. Continue adding vandalism to articles, and you will lose your editing privileges. —MelbourneStartalk 16:03, 12 April 2014 (UTC)

You said this on my talk page, and I would like to respond to your message. I neglected to use the Edit Summary feature; it did not occur to me, and I apologize for that.
