Speedy deletion nomination of Gender Through Comic Books
[edit]Hello Melaniehughes,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Gender Through Comic Books for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Alpedio (talk) 19:12, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Gender Through Comic Books
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Gender Through Comic Books requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content or organised event, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Alpedio (talk) 19:12, 19 May 2013 (UTC)

OER inquiry
[edit]Hi Melaniehughes, I'm sending you this message because you're one of about 300 users who have recently edited an article in the umbrella category of open educational resources (OER) (or open education). In evaluating several projects we've been working on (e.g. the WIKISOO course and WikiProject Open), my colleague Pete Forsyth and I have wondered who chooses to edit OER-related articles and why. Regardless of whether you've taken the WIKISOO course yourself - and/or never even heard the term OER before - we'd be extremely grateful for your participation in this brief, anonymous survey before 27 April. No personal data is being collected. If you have any ideas or questions, please get in touch. My talk page awaits. Thanks for your support! - Sara FB (talk) 20:45, 23 April 2014 (UTC)

Gender Through Comic Books moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Gender Through Comic Books, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. - Hi @Explicit, if I no longer have something to edit, it unfortunately doesn't make me very happy. My user profile is pretty explicit to where I work during the Eastern Standard Daytime. Please, reach out to me there this week. Unfortunately, I do not know your name or current daytime location (South Korea?) from your profile. I see we both like soccer (football).
- I am a novice author for Wikipedia, and it has taken a lot of this Sunday morning hour since receiving the notification to my email, to just figure out how to write this reply here to your deletion action on this article. I previously reached out to user @DGG, a fellow librarian, personally, via e-mail, to help me get this page restored to draft, and am waking up this morning to find that you have now deleted it, very frustrating, not happy.
- Would you be willing, @Explicit, to extend a personal courtesy to e-mail me at my work location, so that we may have a conversation (via Zoom) about your decision to delete this particular article this morning and if you would be willing to reverse that decision? It has been an article that needs more support. Perhaps I need more expertise and you would be willing to help get this article up to standard for remaining published?
- When I provide library instruction to college students about Wikipedia, I use the challenges to this article since its creation as one of the things that is not such an awesome aspect of Wikipedia. Because I have two other articles that I have created for Wikipedia that have not been challenged or marked for deletion, I wonder why it is that this one garnishes so much attention? Is it the subject matter? Gender? Comics? What are your thoughts on this, as an editor? As a human?
- I was grateful for @DGG's support in helping me get the article back to draft status. I hope that you will also help me. Thanks for "listening" and your consideration of my request. ~ Melanie E. Hughes 74.134.128.185 (talk) 13:43, 6 November 2022 (UTC)
- Hi, drafts are deleted as abandoned after six months of no human edits to the page. They can also be restored upon request, and I have done so already based on your message here. Please remember that, after another six months of no activity will lead to the re-deletion of the draft. ✗plicit 13:46, 6 November 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks, @Explicit, for restoring the page. I hope to hear from you via the other medium I suggested above to continue the conversation about editing. 74.134.128.185 (talk) 13:51, 6 November 2022 (UTC)
