Prejudice against counties

[edit]

Hello. Welcome. I used to live in Kern County, and I created one or two articles about the supervisors there, but one of them was deleted. I soon re-created it based on the person's notability as a broadcaster, but the incident left me felling really bummed. There is a group of editors who think that county governments are not Notable, based on their reading of Wikipedia:Notability_(people)#Politicians, which is nonsense. I will help you with your additions to Fresno County topics if you like. Yours, BeenAroundAWhile (talk) 19:41, 26 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I am entirely new to Wikipedia, and I'm not even sure if this is the proper place to respond, since I appear to be modifying your message instead of responding to it. Thanks for any help you can provide. What's confusing is that many other counties have entries, as well as Boards of Supervisors, which are the top level government for many counties. I wouldn't know where to best find qualified reference sources for a County page which is better than the county's own web pages. Mchenfresno (talk) 19:54, 26 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
