February 2014

[edit]

Hello, I'm Seaphoto. I wanted to let you know that I removed an external link you added to the page Generation War because it seemed inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thanks. Information icon Hello, I'm Denniss. I wanted to let you know that I undid one or more of your recent contributions to Generation War because it appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Edit warring warning

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 23:50, 13 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon This is your last warning. The next time you use Wikipedia for soapboxing, promotion or advertising, as you did at Generation War, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. You really should not use Wikipedia to promote your own review (hardly notable) made on a very controversial site and then edit war to keep the spam material Alex Bakharev (talk) 01:20, 14 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

COI

[edit]

Maxim, no administrator can rule on a content dispute. But what we can rule on, is our policy on WP:COI, that nobody should insert a reference to their own book, article, review, or web positing, regardless of its merit. You can only suggest it on the talk page, and leave it to others whether or not to use it. Really, that particular point is very simple: if the consensus is not to include it, it is not included, and you will only hurt your own interests by arguing otherwise.
