Extreme temperatures
[edit]Hi Max, thanks for contacting me. As you have guessed, I am very interested in temperatures and records. I checked out your website (http://www.mherrera.org/temp.htm) and I have a few updates to make for Mumbai:
- Mumbai Airport should be renamed to "Mumbai (Santacruz)" or "Mumbai (Santacruz airport)" Santacruz is the key word here.
- Mumbai Downtown should be renamed as "Mumbai (Colaba)"
As these are official names of the two weather stations in the city.
- Extreme low recorded for Mumbai (Santacruz) -- 7.4 °C was on 22 January, 1962
- Extreme low recorded for Mumbai (Colaba) -- 11.7 °C was on 1 February, 1929
A low of 6.5 °C was recorded near Kanheri Caves on 8 February, 2008. As Kanheri lies within Mumbai city limits, it is the lowest recorded temperature available for the city.
Please could you update your records? Thanks =Nichalp «Talk»= 17:57, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
- No problem, I think Mumbai (Santacruz airport) should solve the problem. PS Santacruz is the domestic airport. As for the authenticity of the temperature record, I can deduce the following:
- Source
- And the fact that the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has setup 30 weather stations around the city to monitor the weather 6.5C Source.
- From the above Mumbai Mirror article, the weather station at Tulsi Lake pumping station would be the closest to Kanheri Caves.
- I would assume that the weather stations set up by the BMC would adhere to meteorological guidelines.
- Regards, =Nichalp «Talk»= 14:28, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
If we count only above sea level elevations, then the world record holder is Mohenjo-daro, set this year at 53,5°C. Impressive. 77.38.44.85 (talk) 19:36, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
Well, yes, user 77.38.44.85, the Moen Jo Daro station is synoptical and although not international ,it is of the same quality of the other Pakistani stations (which are generally very reliable). There is another case when a similar temperature might have been recorded above sea level, in 1998 when the iranian station of Deh Seyf at about 300m asl recorded 52.5C. The regional station Deh Seyf was changed (as many iranian stations) around 1993-1994 and its data has become more reliable after the new station was installed, but in this case the new station still has a precision of 0.5C, so we can still have some doubts about it. Some parts of nearby desert El Lut at lower elevations might have recorded a temperature around 53.5C-54.0C in that day and likely in other occasions.Unfortunately,El Lut lowest and not inhabited parts have no stations ,so we cannot be sure of the exact real potential of it, although its highest temperatures are likely similar to the ones of the Death Valley.

Libya
[edit]In another article on Wikipedia (List of weather records) it is stated that the highest recorded temperature is 57.8°C, in Libya. Your quoted maximum temperature ever recorded is much lower than this. Can you explain?
The record is obviously completely irregular, taken in a veranda with a alcohol thermometer over a basement of tarred asphalt. The real temperature was about 20C lower, since also an observation reading worsened the situation.. Obviously 58C under real standard is phisically impossible anywhere in the world, let alone in mid September where 50C have never been reached and it will never be reached anywhere in the planet. That s just a funny joke. The official highest temp. of Libya is 50.2C at Zuara, albeit for few minutes it is the only time in history 50C was recorded in Libya.
Good work
[edit]I read your article "Balconing" and noticed that idiot Paul being a complete arse. KTC (talk) 16:04, 8 June 2012 (UTC)Hello. I just wanna tell you that a very high temperature was recorded in Catamarca (Argentina) on 30th October 2009. The temperature reached to 47.0°C. There were a very very hot wave on the northwest of my country (Argentina), and i think we have never recorded a heat wave as extreme as this one. It´s a very interesting situation to analize. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ezequiel15 (talk • contribs) 19:05, 13 January 2013 (UTC)
Hallo my friend, yes, I am aware about that. You can see those records in http://www.mherrera.org/records.htm I have analyzed the Argentina's heat waves in the past 100/120 years and I might agree that of October 2009 could have been the most intense one, at least relative to that part of the country, which is the hottest part anyway. The old records of Rivadavia 49C and Villa de Maria 49.1C are surely unreliable, they were not taken with a Stevenson Screen, despite the lies and wrong information written by the WMO. Maximiliano.
Good to see you

Middle+Lower Yangtze heat wave
[edit]Coincidence that we arrived at the same source through web searches, eh? This heat wave is really ridiculous, but in terms of climatology, I think hardly anything can rival Washington, DC's (KDCA) streak over the past three years. Respectively, the three hottest summers were 2010, 2011, and 2012, and the three hottest July's (and months) 2011, 2012, and 2010, which tied with July 1993. The other all-time records I recall are highest daily minima and longest consecutive stretch ≥ 80 F at 138 hours this July, although, of course, in the area described in this subject header, such a lengthy stretch likely occurs annually. Incredible. GotR Talk 21:06, 6 August 2013 (UTC)

Content license
[edit]Hi. I noticed your userpage under § Footnotes claims to be licensed under the GFDL. The fact it’s on Wikipedia means it’s licensed under a Creative Commons license. It can’t be under both licenses (or at least, you wouldn’t be able to enforce it), as the GFDL imposes restrictions that CC-BY-SA does not. So in the interest of not confusing people, I request that you remove that text. Or if you’re serious about using the GFDL, I recommend removing it from Wikipedia. Thanks. —174.141.182.82 (talk) 06:32, 12 January 2015 (UTC)
I was required to put that text by Wikipedia team years ago and now they force me to remove it. Confused.... The text , letter by letter was sent to me be a Wiki moderator or administrator (i don t remember now) and i was told to put it as it was. Ok,I have removed it. I will count the days before another one will come to tell me i have to put it again :-) MaXiMiLiAnO 07:10, 12 January 2015 (UTC)
- Weird, that doesn’t make any sense to me. I’ve never seen a userpage with its own license notice; it’s automatically added to the bottom of every page (previously GFDL, now CC-BY-SA). On behalf of whoever was confused enough to make you add it, I’m sorry. And I’m sorry I couldn’t help with the book tool ignoring tables; hopefully someone else will be able to. —174.141.182.82 (talk) 10:04, 12 January 2015 (UTC)
Never mind. I have removed it. There was probably a kind of misunderstanding back few years ago. Cheers. MaXiMiLiAnO (talk) 10:09, 12 January 2015 (UTC)
You may want to get some more input on this, but if I’m not mistaken, your user subpages (particularly User:Maxcrc/disclaimer) appear to be tools for marketing yourself, and that’s a no-no. If you are using Wikipedia as a publishing platform, I urge you to stop and perhaps install the MediaWiki software on your own site. If I am mistaken, I deeply apologize for the misunderstanding. —174.141.182.82 (talk) 06:42, 15 January 2015 (UTC)
There is no market. They are informative pages, but I will adjust the Disclaimer in a way which doesn't generate misunderstandings. In fact, that SubPage is not even necessary and I might consider removing it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Maxcrc (talk • contribs) 10:30, 15 January 2015

Central African Republic article moves
[edit]Hello Maximiliano. Thanks for moving the CAR election and referendum articles, but please remember to fix links on template and update the categories (i.e. Category:2015 elections in Africa → Category:2016 elections in Africa. when you do so. Plus linking years (e.g. 2016) is strongly discouraged. Also, the reference you added to the referendum article didn't state anything about the referendum being postponed, only the elections. Cheers, Number 57 13:46, 8 October 2015 (UTC)
Yes, but the referendum date in the old Wikipedia page had already passed. So there is no doubt the referendum won't be held ....the day before yesterday. Thanks for the other suggestions. I had little time, so I 've just made the most important changes, pending more adjustments (with the help of other users).Cheers. MaXiMiLiAnO (talk) 17:01, 8 October 2015 (UTC)

By-elections in Solomon Islands
[edit]Hi. Thanks for adding dates to the by-elections. But the source you provided doesn't actually indicate those dates (unless I misread). Could you indicate specifically where you got them all from? Aridd (talk) 13:07, 4 November 2016 (UTC)
They are on the document between () check month/year. Also for Tuvalu, the date is CLEARLY INDICATED in the document. That wasn't a Parliamentary by-election, but a PM election (by members of the Parliament). There was NO PARLIAMENTARY BY-ELECTION that year. So, I 'd rather suggest to remove it from the list. It was already in the document with only the year and I added the correct date, but it shoulnd't really be there, since it was not a direct by-election
- Indeed, that's what I was trying to explain to you: The election of the Prime Minister by Parliament does not count as a parliamentary by-election. OK; there's no source for there having been a by-election for Ionatane's replacement as MP for Funafuti (a role which is distinct from his function as PM), so it can removed. I assume the seat simply remained vacant until the 2002 general election.
- Regarding the Solomon Islands: The webpage you mentioned first doesn't indicate any by-elections. It's about political parties in the 2010 general election. I don't understand what you mean by "on the document between () check month/year"; sorry. Also, it's a personal wordpress site, which wouldn't count as a reliable source under Wikipedia's sourcing guidelines… Your www.mherrera.org/elections.html website is a great resource, but… where did you get the information that you put into it? Aridd (talk) 15:49, 4 November 2016 (UTC)
- OK; that's fine then. Thank you for including the information. :) Aridd (talk) 10:08, 5 November 2016 (UTC)

Wikipedia and North Africa weather data
[edit]Hello mr. Herrera, i am following weather data for years and i still haven't figured out why wikipedia has such low standards for climate part of articles, especially when it comes to temperature extremes, such as station's monthly mins and maxs & absolute mins and maxs (usually in the shape of so called 'weatherdata box'). I wrote an extended opinion at Tamanrasset (talk) about the problematics since i find wikipedia standards in this area immeasurably low, abysmal. As you are an expert on this topics I would be grateful if you could read the opinion and gather some of your thoughts on this matter; and also if by any chance do you know if we are ever going to have wikipedia to be source of trust in climate department - as things stand now, climate part of wikipedia is next to unusable. Regards, Iztok Hohnjec from Slovenia. 77.38.84.7 (talk) 18:46, 29 July 2018 (UTC)
Hallo In fact, there are abysmal errors like even snowfalls in Iquitos in the heart of the Amazon forest ! And thousands of other abysmal errors like the one you have just pointed out for Tamanrasset. I tried to correct those mistakes many times, but every time my changes are reverted and the false data restored, so i got frustrated and gave it up. Regarding the page of extreme temperatures, there are links to sources with unreliable records, but since Wikipedia only relies on links of external sources and not on original researches, the problem in this case is on the root (the source). I noted, however, that the page with the records now contains several notes and references about my colleague Burt's opinion about the unreliability of many official records, so in this case we can have a more open source. Keep on the good work and be in touch. Maximiliano.

Geographic records
[edit]In your monthly and geographical records page, I saw record highs by latitude, elevation But are you going to the record lows by latitude and elevation? 2600:1008:B00B:33F7:D969:6E39:6878:6D94 (talk)
Hallo. That would require lots of investigation. Record low temperatures are more complicated to research because they involve elevation and sometimes weather data from high elevated stations are scarce or unofficial, so it's difficult to compare records from scattered high elevated places vs. places with no data (but potentially record low) at high altitudes. I could build this piece of statistics but certain records would not be very representative and would be more depending on quantity of available data than pure climatology. I'll try to figure it out and eventually do the job. Stay tuned and thank you to follow my work.Maximiliano
Snowfall in Lampedusa and in the Piana di Gioia Tauro
[edit]hello, I am writing to you because I would like to enter data about the snowfalls that have occurred since 1800 or even before in Lampedusa and in the Piana di Gioia Tauro. You have some data that can help me. Thanks
Rocky20082009
Hallo. In the second case, It's not necessary. The list is only for places where snow is an extremely rare event. Snow in Gioia Tauro is very common ,there have been dozens of cases appearing in the arpacal yearbooks (even 50cm in January 1938 just in the outskirts of the town) and snow is very normal there even in normal events like in 2017.Before 1900 there were about 5 snowy days every year, so it's a very common event. Not rare at all. For Lampedusa it would be more interesting, but I found no news regarding its snowfalls during the little ice age. It's never mentioned, so I wonder where you could find those dates. Thanks.

Heat records in Sweden
[edit]Hello, I'm curious regarding the heat records of Sweden. What invalidates the records of +38.0 in Målilla and Ultuna? For now, SMHI (Swedish meteorological institute) regards these values as reliable on their website, where they review lots of old readings and regard many of them as unreliable. I'm also curious regarding the other values, how these are unreliable compared to the value of +36.2 in 1992 in Målilla. I do agree that they seem to "stick out" somewhat compared to nearby readings. 83.254.142.178 (talk) 16:53, 17 March 2020 (UTC)
Hallo , all the first 10-12 highest temperatures recorded in Sweden have issues which make them not very reliable. I would need to explain your more in detail case by case, because every one has his own issues. Feel free to contact me by e-email mentioning this message if you are very interested in this issue. This fact doesn't lower my appreciation for the usually excellent work of SMHI, but compared to other european countries, they are by far the least strict regarding old climatic data. They even mention records of 1816 , 114 years before the first Stevenson Screen was installed in Scandinavia (outside a couple of lighthouses , i also have that documentation), besides that totally unbelievable record low of Malgovik (not official anyway). Keep in touch. Max.
Thank you for your answer Max. I have sent an email. Are cold records affected to a similar degree? They very often seem to be set early in the history of the weather station. 83.254.142.178 (talk) 17:14, 3 April 2020 (UTC)
Hallo. i got your email. Sorry i have been very busy and i havent got the time to answer yet. The fact is there is not just a value to discuss about but 7-8 values and i want to give you a complete answer for the reasons why those singular readings are either unreliable or at best doubtful. Every one has its own story, so allow me some time to have free time to answer you properly. Regarding cold records, the very old ones recorded with nothing close to a Stevenson Screen like the -32C of Stockholm can't also be trusted.Albeit the potential overexposure of a extreme Tmax can be higher, also the extreme low minima which usually occur with calm wind and clear skies can be affected by overexposure if the screen is not adequate. i dont see any problem with the official low record of Feb 1966. The semi-official (not official but mentioned) value of Malgovik...no, i have reasons to believe it's not reliable at all. i don't think the real T was anywhere near -53C that day of Dec 1941, probably not even below -40C. i think most of the cold records of Sweden are reasonable ok, except few very old ones which might slightly be little bit lower than real T. Talk to you soon about the main topic, sorry for the delay. Max.
No worries, I'm just happy to know that my email arrived. Feel free to answer whenever you have the time, of course. Also, thank you for your answer regarding the cold temperatures. P.S. This is written from a school computer, hence the differing IP. 130.235.184.54 (talk) 04:07, 5 April 2020 (UTC)
Some questions and suggestions about your "monthly" page
[edit]Hello, Mr. Herrera. I want to ask you a few questions and give a few suggestions about your monthly/latitude/elevation temperature records page:
First, I among many other people would like to know where all the locations mentioned in the page are. Unfortunately, some have no Wikipedia article, some are ambiguous, and some use non-standard spellings (at least in English literature), with these categories not being mutually exclusive. So, may I suggest you include links on the locations on the page, either to non-disambiguation Wikipedia articles or some other site that talks about the location? It would also be nice, if the Wikipedia articles lack it, to link to pages with weather and climate data for the locations.
Second, I think by "high elevation" in the context of that page and some of your other writings, you mean glaciated? I mean, I think it would be more accurate to say "Climax (USA) has the lowest highest monthly record low out of any non-glaciated area of the Northern Hemisphere" than "Climax has the lowest highest monthly record low out of any low elevation (or not high-elevation) area of the Northern Hemisphere", considering that it is higher than some of the Greenland Ice Sheet weather stations you mention.
Third, on that note, why don't you count the −23.9 °C (−11 °F) reading on 28 June 1971 and −13.3 °C (8 °F) July reading on 20 July 1967 at Anaktuvuk Pass (USA) as the non-glaciated Northern Hemisphere record lows for the months of June and July? Grant Exploit (talk) 17:35, 26 August 2020 (UTC)
Hallo, regarding those records at Anaktuvuk Pass are completely wrong. Not even close to the real temperatures. About the remote locations, you are right, sometimes it might be difficult to locate them because they are very remote and being small places also lack a proper english spelling. I should do something about that. Yeah , high elevation is mostly referred to those not inhabited top mountains (Denali, K2, Everest) or the Greenland ice cap and so on which records are too low to be mixed to those of inhabited areas. Thanks for your suggestions, I'll look into that. Max.

[edit]can you confirm that the 25.6 °C (78.1 °F) reading in Beijing is a direct measurement, and not e.g. satellite estimation? this is a very big change to make, so i want to be sure we are on firm ground. thanks, —Soap— 20:15, 21 February 2021 (UTC)
hallo absolutely correct. impressive record, smashed by 6C from its previous Feb record, actually beaten 2 days ago with the first 20C and than rebeaten by further 5C 1 day later. heat wave which started in TURKEY and move east allover asia reaching japan today. one of the most incredible mother nature's freak ever seen.
Meteo agencies and temperature records of Italy
[edit]Hello Mr. Herrera,
I'd like to ask a few questions regarding meteorological agencies and temperature records in Italy.
1. First, regarding the OLD reliable record of 48.5°C at Catenanuova. It was recorded at a station of the Osservatorio delle Acque. Is the "Osservatorio delle Acque" an entity of (part of / related to) the SIAS (Sicilian regional meteo service) ? 'Acque' implies that it's probably a hydrological agency, so was it the hydrological department of the Sicilian regional government (or related to it in some way)?
2. Second, regarding yesterday's record of 48.8°C at Siracusa. The station's condition is good and the temperature was consistent with the meteorological conditions of the day. Considering this, has the Aeronautica Militaire (Italian national met service) approved it so far? If not, what are the chances of this record being approved by the AM ? (So that it becomes the undisputed national record) [Of course, it was not recorded at an official Aero. Mili. station, but, for example, the Russian weather service approved the 45.4°C recorded at a hydrological station as the official national record, so the precedent for an approval exists in history]. And what about the chance of a WMO approval, so that at least the WMO record for Europe is correct and reliable ? (Unlike the current mostly unreliable 48° at Athens, and also the terrible senseless records of 55° Kebili and 56.7° Death Valley, which are totally ridiculous from a meteorological perspective).
3. Is the SIAS (Sicilian agro-meteo service) an official department of the Sicilian regional government, or is it a private meteo network ? And do all regions of Italy have their own separate and decentralised networks like this ? Does the AM recognise them ? Are their stations good and temperature readings/data reliable ? It's a bit puzzling for me.
4. Fourth, it would be very helpful if you could publish a list of all the 24 Italian national monthly records (12 monthly heat records and 12 monthly cold records). Among European countries, Italian records are one of the most confusing and complex, due to the parallel national and regional agencies (hard to tell who is official), and the fact that many official AM records are unreliable (most prominent example being the 47°C at Foggia) and since it is hard to find information about reliable Italian monthly records, unlike other European countries.
Hence, to clear this confusion, could you please list all the 24 reliable national monthly heat and cold records of Italy ? (Either on your Twitter account or your website or you could create a new Wikipedia page, for example, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Maxcrc/Italian_records or something like that). That would be really helpful for everyone to know the reliable records.
Thanks a lot for your reply to these questions and keep up the great work you are doing :) Cumulonimbus20225 (talk) 14:11, 12 August 2021 (UTC)
1-Yep. both are regional nets, both are official, but they act independently. But it seems a possible merge can be on the way 2-WMO can't contact directly the SIAS for bureaucratic reasons, only the national meteorological service AM. The Aeronautica Militare should than contact SIAS and take care of their own verification and all the process. Something they never did, but there is always a first time . Hopefully. The station looks well installed but there are some doubts regarding the shelter. 3-It's official we can say. Yes, all regions have their own "arpa" . in Sicily the name is different maybe because they have a special autonomous status (statuto speciale). They are under the umbrella of UCEA which is indeed prior to AM. We can t swear every single station is reliable of course. 4- JAN 30.4 PALERME 1962 FEB 29.6 PALERME 1977 MAR 37.0 PALERME 2001 APR 37.8 CATENANUOVA 1999 MAY 41.9 CATENANUOVA 2015 JUN 47.0 AMENDOLA AP 2007 JUL 47.2 CATENANUOVA 1998 AUG 48.8 SIRACUSA 2021 SEP 45.6 SAN SEVERO 1946 OCT 41.2 PALERME 1999 NOV 34.1 MONREALE 1968 DEC 30.9 CEFALU 1989
Hello,
Thank you for the answer. As you said, hopefully the AM launches an investigation into the 48.8°C value and approves it if reliable.
I have one more request : Could you please also list all the 12 national monthly cold records of Italy ?
The reason I'm asking so many questions is that I'm highly interested in southern European countries (especially Portugal, Spain, Italy, Greece). I know the records of these countries except Italy. A few months back, I tried searching for them on various Italian meteo websites and forums but they list different values (some of which seem unreliable). So I thought I should ask you about it.
It would be a great help if you could list all the 12 reliable Italian national monthly cold records. (In the entire Italian network, including high elevation stations).
PS. On a personal note, I really admire the work that you do, including your website, where you list the records broken by year, and your Twitter account, where you provide daily updates. Especially the fact that you also check the reliability of records, which organizations like WMO don't care about checking. And I also like that you try to answer questions of common people.
Thanks for the help ! Cumulonimbus20225 (talk) 11:26, 13 August 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Snow and Frost
[edit]Hello, Mr. Herrera. I found the two articles (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Maxcrc/Snowfall_by_country, https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/User:Maxcrc/Nofrost)about the probability of snow and frost in many countries are quite interesting and useful, but I also have a question: You mentioned "ice age" in both articles, so which ice age you are refering to? There are a lot of ice ages in Earth's history. 七战功成 20:29, 8 March 2022 (UTC)
- True. Last one. MaXiMiLiAnO (talk) 20:44, 8 March 2022 (UTC)
So it’s this one? (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Last_Glacial_Period) And the words “snow is impossible in any climatic era” just refer to the era from last glacial period to modern time, right? 七战功成 20:56, 8 March 2022 (UTC)
- yep, i should adjust the wording. but that s the study, based on both climatic yearly average temperature at that time, the variations during such long period, the normal atmospheric expected maximum variations and also the geological data of the former glaciers altitudes, snowlines etc.Establishing those estimations,it was quite a challenging study mixing geography, climatology, statistics, geology etc. MaXiMiLiAnO (talk) 21:03, 8 March 2022 (UTC)
Ok, this follows my previous assumption. I really don’t think there are any places that never receive snow and frost in the entire Earth’s history, because there are some extreme ice ages in very ancient time that everywhere on Earth were frozen. By the way, Bangladesh had almost no chance to receive snow during the last ice age? I find there are some mountains near its northern border and maybe the probability of snow is not that low during the coldest period of last ice age. 七战功成 21:14, 8 March 2022 (UTC)
Hello. I have a few new questions. 1. Are the wikipedia climate data of Plateau station and Concordia station reliable? (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plateau_Station, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Concordia_Station) The climate table of Plateau station has no source and the differerence between mean daily high and low temperature seems a little too big. The record high temperature of Concordia station also seems too high for the place.
2. Is the mean annunal temperature record of Pole of Inaccessbility station (-58.2 C) reliable? I looked at its wiki article (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pole_of_Inaccessibility_research_station) and cannot find free version of the source online (a book). According to the description of the article, I doubted if anyone conducted yearly observation there (don't know if there was any automatic weather station there before).
3. I read the your "Monthly Temperature Records" and found that the highest temperature recorded between 80-90 degrees south is 5.9 C at Elizabeth, Antarctica. Could you tell me where that place is? I tried to look it up and only found a research station located around 70 degrees south. 七战功成 21:00, 9 March 2022 (UTC)
- Concordia table has some wrong data, mostly the summer Tmaxes, completely wrong.
- Platesu station data seems correct i need to check in my database, the low spread between averages and records is because it operated very short time.
- Elizabeth AWS station: 82S https://amrc.ssec.wisc.edu/aws/index.php?region=West%20Antarctica&station=Elizabeth&year=2012&mode=uw
- That former soviet station operated a very short period of time not even a full year, i think that average was more an extrapolation/estimation. But i ll ask an antartica expert to confirm that. MaXiMiLiAnO (talk) 21:18, 9 March 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you very much. Just found that Elizabeth station's elevation is unexpectedly low (519 meters), no wonder it can register temperature above freezing. Besides, Vanda station' summer temperature is amazingly high considering it's latitude and elevation. I didn't find its record low temperature, maybe it's the same as Byrd station? By the way, I saw you list AGO-4 as the site of registering the lowest temperature of May (-83.7 C), when was the record set? According to its data on AMRC (https://amrc.ssec.wisc.edu/aws/index.php?region=High%20Polar%20Plateau&station=AGO-4&year=2014&mode=uw), its record low temperature doesn't even reach -80 C. Not sure which one is right. 七战功成 22:26, 9 March 2022 (UTC)
- ago-4 operated decades ago, it was closed and reopened. that database list only the new location data. same happened in concordia, the station operated previously in a location few dozens miles away. MaXiMiLiAnO (talk) 01:03, 11 March 2022 (UTC)
- Oh, I didn’t notice that you left a new message before. So when was that temperature recorded? Besides, you previously mentioned that the wiki climate table of Concordia station contained a number of errors. Could you give a more reliable stats? 七战功成 22:03, 14 March 2022 (UTC)

Hello, I notice the information on this page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Maxcrc/Snowfall_by_country), which says "Snow has never been recorded in Ponta Sagres on the extreme southwest, being the only place in Continental Europe without having witnessed snowflakes in history." I think it refers to this place (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sagres_Point) , right? It belongs to Sagres civil parish(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sagres_(Vila_do_Bispo). Does that sentence mean only the Sagres Point never receive snow, but the other places of Sagres civil parish, includes Cape. St. Vincent, used to see snow? Or the entire Sagres region never receive snow? 七战功成 00:24, 14 April 2022 (UTC)
- Not sure about Cabo Sao Vicente, I can only say snow fell for sure at Vila do Bispo, and also further north at Alijezur and further east at Lagos. Nothing at Sagres but i am not really sure until which point exactly. MaXiMiLiAnO (talk) 00:53, 14 April 2022 (UTC)
- Ok, so it can only be sure that Sagres Point never receive snow and other parishes of Vila do Bispo used to see snow, but it's not clear that whether other parts of Sagres civil parish receive snow or not, right? 七战功成 01:21, 14 April 2022 (UTC)
Long-awaited answer for a question
[edit]"Hallo I see there is a wikipage (WP article) about Elliot Handler, but not for Harold Matson. Is there a reason for that?" - posted on 21 December 2016 at 18:03 at the Mattel talk page.
Hi, Maxcrc, you requested an answer for a question posted on the date and time mentioned above. Here's the answer;
As much as the WP community would love a "Harold Matson" article (or wikipage as you put it), little is known of him other than the first 3 statement lines in the "History" section of the Mattel article. What's more, since it is a bigrophical page you're requesting, WP:BIO and WP:BLP will prohibit having this page alive. Sorry 'bout that!! Intrisit (talk) 22:41, 15 April 2022 (UTC)
