List of people from Sylhet
[edit]Hello. Your recent edit to List of people from Sylhet appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 12:19, 26 June 2019 (UTC)

[edit]Hello. Your recent edit to Sylhet region and Greater Sylhet seem to duplicate an existing article. Please make sure that your edits are according to Wikipedia's guidelines. Thank you. - UserNumber (talk) 12:18, 22 March 2022 (UTC)
Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Master Vampire Shihab, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one of your contributions does not conform to Wikipedia's Neutral Point of View policy (NPOV). Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media.
There's a page about the NPOV policy that has tips on how to effectively write about disparate points of view without compromising the NPOV status of the article as a whole. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Questions page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. Below are a few other good links for newcomers:

[edit]Your recent editing history at Greater Sylhet shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. - its absolutely horrifying how you would use propoganda over facts. Master Vampire Shihab (talk) 03:42, 23 March 2022 (UTC)
- I think this would apply more to your edits. For example, in one of them, you claimed that the Cachar district was a part of "pre-Partition Sylhet" when this is obviously not true. Cachar has been a separate district from Sylhet since its inception. I can carry on further regarding your claims, but I think it is clear amongst all editors including @Vinegarymass911: that your edits are unreliable and do not contribute to improving Wikipedia. Thank you. UserNumber (talk) 13:41, 24 March 2022 (UTC)
Your recent edits
[edit]Hi Shihab, it appears to me that your account meets WP:SPA and the defensive attitude towards other editors from the start of your recent editing is not helping either. It was myself who created the Sylhet region article but then decided to merge with the long-standing Sylhet Division article for several reasons. The geographical difference between the two is by one small district of India, whilst the rest forms the Sylhet Division of Bangladesh. The partition can easily be mentioned in the current article. In addition to this, you have added a lot of incorrect information without citing any references. It very well may be the case that you are blocked if you continue this behaviour. - Sylhet division is just a political unit in Bangladesh. Sylhet region refers to the wider area including the Barak Valley in India. Surma Valley and Barak Valley make up the Sylhet region. It is great that you are vested in Sylheti representation in Wikipedia. My edits are well intentioned and form the native point of view. Your temporary oliberations of the article will not go on for long. Master Vampire Shihab (talk) 08:50, 2 April 2022 (UTC)
Despite housing a large Sylheti-Bengali population, the entire Barak Valley is not actually included within the Sylhet region. It is a common misconception which even I used to believe before educating myself and researching more on the topic. Within what is considered the Barak Valley today is Karimganj which indeed was a part of the District of Sylhet prior to 1947. However, Cachar (along with Hailakandi) were never a part of the District of Sylhet, instead forming part of the Dimasa Kingdom before being occupied by the British. [edit]Please stop your disruptive editing.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant noticeboards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. UserNumber (talk) 13:28, 4 April 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I noticed that you may have recently made edits to Greater Sylhet while logged out. Wikipedia's policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow the use of both an account and an IP address by the same person in the same setting and doing so may result in your account being blocked from editing. Additionally, making edits while logged out reveals your IP address, which may allow others to determine your location and identity. If this was not your intention, please remember to log in when editing. Thank you. Jalen Folf (talk) 18:27, 17 April 2022 (UTC)

Please do not introduce incorrect information into articles, as you did to Eighth Schedule to the Constitution of India. Your edits could be interpreted as vandalism and have been reverted. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite references or sources or discuss the changes on the article's talk page before making them again.
