- The visual editor will be available by default for logged-out editors on Wikipedias that use the Arabic script. It is already default for logged-in editors. [19]
- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from August 16. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from August 17. It will be on all wikis from August 18 (calendar).

Disambiguation link notification for August 24
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 2016 Ghanaian presidential pardon of contemnors, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Writ of summons. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

tagging speedied articles
[edit]When you see something as obviously speediable as Schlongchow there's not really any point in tagging it with templates which only lead other editors to waste time looking at it to improve it - in my case the {{stub}} put it into Category:Stubs so I found it while stub-sorting. With this sort of rubbish, just trust the deleting admin to delete it, and move on to something more useful. Thanks. PamD 11:57, 24 August 2016 (UTC)
