Move requests and naming disputes Please note that on Archive page 1, there are multiple discussions and debates about this unit's name (and with that the article's name). The are multiple move requests and discussions, and the page was moved several times. While consensus appeared to have changed over the years, this may have been due to different editors taking part at different times. The current name has been stable for some time. Before considering another name change, please post a formal Move Request or Request for comment and notify the Military History Project at WT:MILHIST, to try an gain a solid consensus and determine the correct name. |
Consistency wrt 3d vs. 3rd
[edit]Checked some of the old Talk logs, and, while I can understand page names being kept with the unofficial "3rd" moniker, there seems to be a lack of consistency as to usage within the article itself. If anything, perhaps even a quick note somewhere in an early paragraph delineating the difference between historic/official ordinal usage and common American English parlance would be in order (unintentional pun)?
