SPUI-Box
[edit]It's not about pedophilia, or personal status, or taking offense, or anything like that. Rather, this issue is related to blatently disobeying the wishes of the peer-chosen Arbitration Committee and the founder of the project, Jimbo Wales. I won't be reverting again, however, as I think this is simply trolling. --Bratschetalk 01:56, 14 February 2006 (UTC)
- The remedy was for SPUI, not Analog, and supposedly was so severe because it aggravated an ongoing wheel war. Unless you think that Analog is inflaming some ongoing wheel war, it is totally unjustified. --maru (talk) contribs 04:18, 14 February 2006 (UTC)
Image Tagging for Image:Battle dragon.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Battle dragon.jpg. The image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to indicate why we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the image qualifies under Wikipedia's fair use guidelines, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. If you want the image to be deleted, tag it as {{db-unksource}}.
If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion.

SW Project member list
[edit]Heya! I was wondering if I could add you to the project list, even if it's "unofficial" :) Thanks. --Deckiller 20:23, 14 February 2006 (UTC)
- Unofficially, yes. --maru (talk) contribs 22:03, 14 February 2006 (UTC)
- Minor Jedi page has been split into three articles. I think 2-3 of the entries could be split into separate articles, like Adi Gallia. I think we should try and shoot for 50KB on the Masters and 45KB for the knight pages. --Deckiller 00:41, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for your vote
[edit]Hello, I just wanted to thank you for your opinion of what I should read next. I've been reading big books with lots of plot threads, where characters disappear for a while as the author tries to keep up with everybody's actions. I wanted a break from such sweeping epics, and The Tale of Genji seems like a good book to do that...big but at the same time intimate. --Tachikoma 20:46, 14 February 2006 (UTC)
- That's true. It is not so much that characters disappear in the ToG, but more like they die and the action moves on to their relatives. --maru (talk) contribs 22:00, 14 February 2006 (UTC)
From a Jew - userpage comment
[edit]As a Jew I would prefer that you remove your grammar Nazi swastika. I find that symbol to be very offensive and hateful. --144.126.76.73 02:30, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
- I would rather not. Incidentally, I'm a little surprised a Jew would be at Loyola. --maru (talk) contribs 02:34, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
- What kind of a racist statement is that? Loyola is a diverse school. Religion plays no role in who is there. --144.126.161.45 13:29, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
- Have you stopped beating your wife yet? It is a perfectly valid question since it is, y'know, a Jesuit school. --maru (talk) contribs 13:49, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
- What the hell does that have to do with being Jesuit? A lot of blacks beat their wives. —Preceding unsigned comment added by User:144.126.76.73 (talk • contribs)
I agree with your decision completely, which is why I left that note on the things to do page. I only did the merge to get some info on the article. --Deckiller 02:39, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
- All's well that ends well. --maru (talk) contribs 02:59, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
- Indeed. I would've put the merge proposal up if nobody had already started the list. --Deckiller 03:02, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
Random articles biases
[edit]Hi. About your recent statement that the random article link isn't really random, do you know any specifics? It certainly seems it's not weighted towards longer articles or anything. I'm quite curious about this. Thanks. --R. fiend 04:22, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
- From what I remember from a few discussions on #Wikipedia, it was weighted towards more popular articles. --maru (talk) contribs 04:25, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
- Wow, then I may have underestimated the number of deletable articles and sub-stubs. -R. fiend 19:00, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
- I wouldn't be surprised. I find it hard to believe we could really have ~1 million articles on encyclopedic subjects. When I get the time, I hope to do my own little 500 random links experiment. --maru (talk) contribs 20:47, 15 February 2006 (UTC)

Muttar Masti deletion
[edit]I see you deleted this and it's been recreated. However, you didn't close off Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Muttar Masti. I've deleted the article again. --CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 07:18, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
- Er... Let's not assign blame about who did and didn't close AFDs! The important thing is that it got deleted, right? --maru (talk) contribs 17:14, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
Image Tagging Image:Andeddu.JPG
[edit]This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Andeddu.JPG. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too.
