Clara Bow
Hello, I'm noticing that you're keep changing the picture of the infobox of the activos of Clara Bow and deleting the birth name. I want to know the reasons of why you're keep doing this. The pic needs to be change because it's to small for the Infobox and the birth name also needs to be in the Infobox too.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.141.139.152 (talk) 19:03, 16 July 2021 (UTC)
- Clearly the pic is not too small. The documentation for the birth name field states "Name at birth; only use if different from name" Adding a middle name is not different it is just longer. The field is meant to be used in cases like Kirk Douglas or Michael Caine where there birth name is entirely different from the name they are known by. MarnetteD|Talk 20:54, 16 July 2021 (UTC)
More music
You archive too fast, and I'm too lazy for a new thread: more music, cello sonatas and a new song about a feast - a dear family member remembered today when she would have been 122 --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:28, 22 July 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you Gerda Arendt and happy memories for her 122nd. Fascinating info. As I grow older I appreciate Antonio more and more. When I visited Venice many years ago it did change his music for me. After that I hear water lapping against stone as I listen to it. Best regards. MarnetteD|Talk 17:13, 22 July 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you! My 12th today, DYK? I decorated, also for a birthday. Songs invite to more music, places, food and flowers, - heard another Vivaldi yesterday, this time for two cellos, and no article! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:10, 2 August 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks and congrats GA. The goldenrods are beautiful. I'm spending tomorrow with friends watching this treat from Glyndebourne. We are even having a picnic beforehand to replicate the full experience. Best regards. MarnetteD|Talk 16:00, 2 August 2021 (UTC)
- That sounds lovely! - Today: 2 interesting DYK (I think), sadly 2 who died (on top of 2 from Poland yesterday), and a concert in which Daniel Barenboim just played piano, - and afterwards he and the orchestra received last year's prize (pictured). --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:04, 7 August 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you Gerda Arendt. It was nice to read and learn from everytrhing you linked to. It was 10 years ago tonight that I first head Isabel Leonard sing. I am spending the day watching various performances on YouTube and there sure are a lot of them available. Enjoy your week! MarnetteD|Talk 21:12, 9 August 2021 (UTC)
- memories ... - thank you for sharing. If you click on August songs, you see what went on, and three more meetings with friends and a concert are planned for the next few days (just watch the page for updates, - memorable event 30 years ago on concert day with Tenebrae), - expect less of me here :) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:51, 9 August 2021 (UTC)

A friend sent me a link to this website Gerda. It links to productions from theatres all over Europe. So I get to save on airfare, ticket prices and accommodations which means I can buy a couple cases of my favorite champagne. I gonna need that many to watch all of those operas. - Thank you just listened to the Bregenz premiere of Nerone, live. - Today: Teresa Żylis-Gara, the second soprano to impress me on stage, died, - long live the memory of her beautiful singing, remembered with thanks. 28 August 2013 was a special concert day: look. I'm back!! Almost. ;)
Hey, M. Long time not talking to you right? Quick question, do you think these are similar? Starkiryu64 (talk) 09:57, 30 July 2021 (UTC)
- Welcome back Starkiryu64. I hope you've had a nice summer so far. Although the pics were removed I did take a look at them. I did see a faint resemblance but that could just be a coincidence. Best regards. MarnetteD|Talk 15:49, 30 July 2021 (UTC)
So, who do you think these two are? Starkiryu64 (talk) 18:11, 30 July 2021 (UTC)
- I'm not sure I'm following you Starkiryu64. Of course I recognize Tom Baker's 4th Dr. Put I haven't seen Sailor Moon so I don't know how much alike or different the two characters may be. Apologies for not being more helpful. MarnetteD|Talk 18:19, 30 July 2021 (UTC)

Reference Desk Question
I notice you remove my question from the reference desk. Do you know of any better place to ask it? Your edit summary seems to suggest that you do know of somewhere.
Also, is there any way to rephrase it to avoid debates? 86.134.21.173 (talk) 18:48, 7 August 2021 (UTC)
- I didn't remove it I restored the hatting and no there isn't a better way to phrase it. Try googling for chat rooms. MarnetteD|Talk 20:21, 7 August 2021 (UTC)
On you closing my discussion
Why did you do it? I'm a bit confused as to why, given that it's a legitimate question on alternate history. — Preceding unsigned comment added by BurritoQuesadilla (talk • contribs) 05:13, 13 August 2021 (UTC)

Flyer22 SPI
Hello Marnette,
The SPI is about Flyer22 being alive; perhaps I should have said that in the SPI notice. Would you restore the notice and perhaps add that comment? Kolya Butternut (talk) 00:07, 14 August 2021 (UTC)
- Easy answer is no. Second answer is absolutely not. How you have the gall to do this is beyond me. MarnetteD|Talk 00:10, 14 August 2021 (UTC)
Your birthday was on Tuesday the 3rd.
Dear Michael,
So sorry. I forgot your birthday a week ago last Tuesday.
Hoping that you had a good celebration.
Cheers!

FWIW, re: this, IMO it doesn't make any difference whether the accusation turns out to be true or not, or whether we ever know. The issue is that without being able to publicly show evidence, one shouldn't make a public accusation, and in this case it's not appropriate to show public evidence. Which means the accusation should have remained private, too. I don't think your objection to that is anything that needs to be apologized for, no matter how this all turns out. JMO. However this turns out, I don't actually think you did anything wrong. —valereee (talk) 12:23, 15 August 2021 (UTC)

25 centuries, not just decades
- The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place of exercise. Children are now tyrants, not the servants of their households. They no longer rise when elders enter the room. They contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up dainties at the table, cross their legs, and tyrannize their teachers. (Socrates)

- I am very well, thanks. Actually I'm rather glad that crossing one's legs is no longer the shocking social crime it apparently once was. :) -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 00:58, 25 August 2021 (UTC)
- User:MarnetteD, User:JackofOz - Is that saying reliably attributed to Socrates? I doubt it. I am more inclined to assume that it was reliably attributing it to Plato attributing it to Socrates, but most of what Plato attributes to Socrates is really Plato's own work. - Well, it seems it was much, much later than that. It was as late as 1907, to be precise; from the pen of a man named Kenneth John Freeman, who was paraphrasing various complaints from ancient times. See [1]. - No worries JackofOz and my thanks to you Robert McClenon for spurring JoO's deeper research. I've always found that to be one of Wikipedia's strengths. - Heh. As I'm sure you know, the internet is replete with quotes, most of which seem to be misattributed to an elite crowd including Oscar Wilde, Mark Twain, Winston Churchill, Buddha, Shakespeare, Abraham Lincoln, Albert Einstein and a few others. It makes a refreshing change to have a misattribution involving a new face. In my defence, I didn't know any better. After all, I read about Socrates' quote on ... the internet. Not About Lana Rhoades
I infer that you have my talk page watchlisted, or are otherwise watching it. I had been about to ask you not to remove stupid messages, because I still get the email notification, and then if the message is removed, I have to read the history to see what the stupid message was. However, I see that in this case, the stupid message was a single top-posted letter at the top of my talk page, and that might have confused ClueBot, who is archiving my talk page. Kenneth Williams.
Hello, no I can't. I know the information's true. If you are familiar with the actor's voice, and watch the monent when Terry Thomas steps off the plane, you'll hear Williams' very distinctive voice come from a reporter who, a few moments later, speaks with his real one, when he says "Yeah, but...", an expression Williams never used, anyway. So, the career-curio shall just have to be lost forever. There's nothing that can be cited. Nothing to refer to. And trivia of great importance to fans is often laughably inconsequential to others, so what the one has never noticed before, and the other doesn't care about, what I know is absolutely true shall just have to sink to the unproveable ocean bed's floor. There should be a facility perhaps to record such observations:- 'Asserted Observations', perhaps? Any such title. A consensus could be reached, and debate encouraged. Just now, all we have is a god-like hand which, if not properly reverenced, erases truth which cannot prove itself to be true from existence. Still, there it is, for as long as it lasts, in the Kenneth Williams' Edit History, should someone encounter it. Regards. Heath St John (talk) 12:05, 1 September 2021 (UTC)
- Hello Heath St John. All information added to wikipedia articles has to have a WP:RX. Your observation is WP:OR and WP:SPECULATION. I am not saying you are wrong and you are free to note what you feel about this at other places on the web like a facebook page. I am sorry about this but that is just the way things work here. Hi! I’ve just learned that Don Collier passed away at 9.05am this morning in Kentucky. It was announced by Terry Bomar, who was a minister and friend of Don’s. His Facebook page link is here - https://www.facebook.com/twbomar - for you to confirm. I’d edit the page but not 100% on all the coding.
Kindest regards

Hello. Yes, I know; it's a shame. There should be a 'Wiki-claim', or some such title, page, or Site, so those few of us who don't use p.c., government thought-control sites like Facebook, (all abasing themselves under the relatavist tyranny of Google's ten commandments), could use to explore contributor's as-yet unproved claims. Thanks. Heath St John (talk) 12:48, 1 September 2021 (UTC)
